“For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
Revelation 19:10

- Blessing, honor, glory, and power to the Lamb of God.
Who is able to understand what’s written in the Seven Seals?
“And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals.” Revelation 5:1
Ezekiel also saw a scroll, from the hand of God, that was written on the inside and outside, “Now when I looked, there was a hand stretched out to me; and behold, a scroll of a book was in it. Then He spread it before me; and there was writing on the inside and on the outside, and written on it were lamentations and mourning and woe.” Ezekiel 2:9-10 Click here for a post from Ezekiel 2 of how God sends us into a hard world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The scroll, which the Scriptures were written on, is within the right hand of the Lord and is the book of Revelations. That scroll is written on the inside and on the back. A scroll was usually rolled and the writing was on one side only, in that way, the text would always be on the inside of the roll. For a scroll to have writing on the outside, too, would mean that however the scroll was rolled, text would always be seen, but not able to be read because the text was rolled and sealed. For there to be text on the inside and outside means that there is an enormous amount of information within the scroll, more than usual.
The scroll was sealed with seven seals. Sealing scrolls meant that the text was protected and could only be accessed by someone with the proper authority. As we see in coming verses, Christ Jesus is the one who is worthy to open the Seven Seals. The Seven seals are described in Revelations 6 and Revelations 8
“Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.” Revelation 5:2-3
No one is able to open the book of Revelations to unlock the mysteries bound within the seals. No one on this earth nor anyone found in heaven are able to unlock the seals of the book of Revelations. Even the beast, which gives uncanny knowledge and heightened intuition, will not venture to open the Seven Seals of the Revelations. The culture of the beast would have to admit who they are, to look at themselves in the mirror. The masses around the world who welcome the beast to speak and live through them avoid saying and doing anything that supports the prophecy of the Holy Bible.
“So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it.” Revelation 5:4
As followers of Jesus Christ, we would weep a lot if we were not able to understand the book of Revelations within the days we are living in today. Today, we know the beast is present in the world because of the description of the beast given to us in Revelations 13. We know one of Satan’s beast gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people. Click here for a post on Revelations 13:15. By what they are given to say and do, they are conformed to the mark, name, number of the beast [Revelations 13:16-17]. The beast sets self up as God within the temple of God, which is our body, by giving people what to feel, think, say, and do. That beast is the one “…who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:4 Click for a post on that.
Christians of the past have always had an issue with the difficulty of the symbolisms of Revelations, the prophecy of the coming of the beast, and the relevance of the book of Revealtions for them at that time, not any more.
Click for a post from Isaiah 29:9-12 about the understanding of the book of prophecy is closed to those without Jesus Christ.
“But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” Revelation 5:5
The Christ, whose name is Jesus, is the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David. Our Lord Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the same tribe as king David, making Him the Root of David. He has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose the Seven Seals, as seen in Revelations 6 and Revelations 8.
For anyone to be able to digest and understand the book of Revelations, their faith must be in Jesus Christ, in the presence of the Holy Spirit. That’s because “…the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelations 19:10 If we want to know where the world is within prophecy, we only need to see where Jesus is within the world. “…the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14,
We know the First Seal has been opened because of what we are seeing in the world today. The First Seal of Revelations 6:1-2 is the one which brings the beast which forms what we think, feel, do, and speak as it enables the image of the beast to live and speak through people in every city around the world. Everything in the book of Revelations is a result of that first seal opening. The Seven Seals began opening because of the corruption of five of the seven churches, as described in the post on Revelations 4.
Also, Jesus Christ is the only one who can open the events of the Seven Seals in the sense that only He, as the Lion of Judah and Root of David, has the authority to unleash calamity onto the earth. Our Lord Jesus has been given the authority to bring judgment to the earth.
Jesus Christ receives the book of the Seven Seals.
“And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.” Revelation 5:6-7
The Seven Seals are opened after Jesus Christ was crucified and slain on the Cross to atone for sin. That means the Churches had already been established, and eventually corrupted, when the Seven Seals began opening. The slain Lamb, who was resurrected and ascended into Heaven for eternity, stands in the midst of the four living creatures, as described in the post on Revelations 4:6-7. He stands in the midst of the 24 Elders, as described in Revelations 4:10-11
The slain and resurrected Lamb has seven horns and seven eyes. In the Bible, “horns” are a symbol of power and authority and “eyes” represent knowing. To have seven “horns” and seven “eyes” means that Christ Jesus has power, authority, and is all-knowing on all seven continents around the world. The seven continents were not discovered until between the 1950’s and 1970’s, so we know we are definitely living in the last days when Bible prophecy can be understood through Jesus Christ.
The “seven horns” and “seven eyes” are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth, and the Spirit of God is one of Holiness. No one can stand in the presence of God’s Holiness except Jesus Christ, and we who live for God through Him. When God sees Jesus in us, He counts us as being righteous, “…even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus…” Romans 3:22-24 The Spirit of God will be on all seven continents within a world that rejects His Holiness, rejects Jesus who makes us righteous in the eyes of God, and rejects the presence of the Holy Spirit. Thus comes Christ Jesus to open the Seven Seals of Revelations 6 and Revelations 8.
The twenty-four elders and living creatures bow before Jesus in praise and with our prayers.
“Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.” Revelation 5:8
The description of the twenty-four elders is not given, but I like to believe that twelve had something to do with the twelve Apostles of Christ, and twelve had something to do with the twelve tribes of Israel. That would bring the Old and New Testaments together as one to acknowledge our Lord Jesus as the fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
The twenty-four elders all bow in reverence to the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, and playing music of Holiness to Him. Each one has bowls of the prayers of the saints, so we know our prayers are already heard and the opening of the Seven Seals is the answer to those prayers. This global anti-Christian world will be destroyed, and we will inherit eternal life in the New Jerusalem.
The Four Living Creatures are described in Revelations 4.
We can be glad that God already has our prayers in bowls in Heaven because today the beast that has power over physiology intrudes upon our thoughts and feelings to mock every prayer we might have. Jesus says, “It is written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ” Matthew 21:13 When Daniel made his prayer in Daniel 9:1-19, an angel of the Lord came to Daniel to explain to him that certain events must happen in this world. Those events are recorded in Daniel 9:20-27 and apply to us today. Like Daniel, as we pray, we must remember that certain events must happen in this world, as recorded in Daniel 9:20-27.
Those who live by the beast forming what they think, feel, do, and say have uncanny knowledge and heightened intuition to verbally publicize what we think or feel. It is blasphemy against God. Even so, God has our prayers stored in bowls in Heaven, and has already opened the First Seal o f His judgment to bring global chaos and destruction to the government and culture of the beast. .
As followers of Jesus Christ, we rejoice that He is worthy to open the Seals. We are able to recite what is quoted here, “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God; And we will reign on the earth.” Revelation 5:9-10 We will reign on this earth with Jesus Christ for “1000 years” as described in Revelations 20. Then comes the final judgment of those who rejected Jesus Christ, also described in Revelations 20. After that, the new heaven and new earth are created, and the New Jerusalem becomes our eternal home, as described in Revelation 21.
Blessing, honor, glory, and power to the Lamb of God.
“Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands…” Revelation 5:11
That verse describes the armies that will be returning with Christ, as quoted, “And the armies in heaven, clothed in pure white linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.” Revelation 19:14
“…saying with a loud voice: Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing! And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped Him that liveth for ever and ever.” Revelation 5:12-14
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
