Sixth Church–Faithful few have little strength but are made pillars in the temple of God and preserved for the eternal New Jerusalem.

Revelation 3:7-13

The corruption of five of the seven churches leads to our Lord Jesus Christ opening the Seven Seals, as described in Revelations 4 and also Revelations 5. That leads to the events of the Seven Trumpets of Revelations 8, 9, and 11, the Seven Thunders of Revelations 10, and the Seven Plagues of Revelations 16. The two faithful witness, or two faithful churches [second and sixth Church], are faithful to the testimony of Jesus Christ, persecuted, and have little strength. A link to each of the seven churches are at the bottom of this post.

The first five churches involved leaving the first-love of Jesus Christ while doing good works, resulting in the lampstand being removed. Then the faithful of Jesus Christ being persecuted where the temple of Satan exists. Then the churches are filled with people who embrace the worldly agenda, but the faithful to Christ are given “hidden bread” to eat. Then the teachings of the beast, the beast giving people what to speak, do, think, and feel, become part of the teaching of the churches. Then the church is dead but the names of the faithful to Christ are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. In the sixth church of this post, those faithful to Christ have little strength, encouraged to hold on to what they have in Him, and the door of the New Jerusalem is open to us.

  • Message from Christ who is Holy and True, who opens and no one shuts and shuts and no one opens.
  • Faithful to Christ with little strength are to hold on to what we have in Him.
  • Faithful to Christ are made pillars in the temple of God and door open into the New Jerusalem.

Message from Christ who is Holy and True, who opens and no one shuts and shuts and no one opens.

“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens…” Revelations 3:7

This message is from the One who is Holy and True. In His Holiness, He cannot condone unbelief in Him, nor can He condone the rejection of Jesus Christ, nor can He condone the rejection of the Holy Spirit. That means He cannot condone our body, created to be the temple of the Holy Spirit, to be turned into the temple of the beast that gives people what to feel, think, say, and do. His word is True, whether people believe or not. For example, global warming is here for all the world to see, and is the Fourth Plague of Revelations 16:8-9. Whether people reverence His Holiness or not, whether they believe the word of God or not, it doesn’t change His Holiness nor His Truth.

The Apostle John, by the Spirit of the Lord, is quoting Isaiah 22:22 when he says, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens..,” “as quoted, “The key of the house of David I will lay on his shoulder;
So he will open, and no one will shut; And he will shut, and no one will open. I will fasten him as a peg in a secure place,
and he will become a glorious throne to his father’s house.”

David was important to the Jewish people because Bible prophecy said that the Christ would arise from the lineage of David. Jesus was born from the lineage of David, both being from the tribe of Judah. However, the Jewish people were expecting the Christ to set up an earthly kingdom, as quoted, “So they said to Him, “The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel.” Luke 24:19-21 The Christ Jesus came to establish an eternal Kingdom, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and will not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5:24

“I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn to My servant David: ‘Your seed I will establish forever, and build up your throne to all generations.’ ” Psalms 89:3-4  “And your house and your kingdom will be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever.” ’ ”2 Samuel 7:16 “And I will establish him in My house and in My kingdom forever; and his throne will be established forever.” ’ ” 1 Chronicles 17:14

Our Lord Jesus has the key to the eternal Kingdom of God, that locks or unlocks the door of the eternal New Jerusalem. As the Christ says, “…I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” Revelations 1:18 What He opens, no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open. The door to eternal life is open to all who believe in Jesus as the Christ and Son of God, but locked to all those who reject Him, “…those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt.” Daniel 12:1-2

Faithful to Christ with little strength are to hold on to what we have in Him.

“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which will come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.  ” Revelations 3:8-11

Our Lord Jesus knows what the faithful few in this world are doing for Him, which is to hold fast to His testimony within a world that rejects Him. Because of our devotion to Him, He has written our name in the Book of Life, an open door into the New Jerusalem, and no one can shut it, “It was granted to [the beast] to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Revelations 13:7-8

For us to have little strength on a global scale refers to us being few in number across the seven continents, not strong in numbers. At the same time, many of us may have little strength being alone in a world where we might think we are the only one in the whole world holding to the testimony of Jesus, holding to our born-again experience, which is the gospel of Christ written on our heart. But at the same time, we who have little strength are strong in keeping His word, and not denying His name in a world that pressures us to conform to worldly values. We may not be strong in numbers, but we are strong in the presence of the Holy Spirit to stand for Christ Jesus.

Who are those of the synagogue of Satan? They are the global culture that has made their body, the temple of God, into the temple of Satan. They serve Satan’s beast that has power over physiology to give people what to feel, think, say, and do. By doing that, the beast sits within the temple of God, as if is God, thus making people the “synagogue of Satan”, and the beast is the one “…who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 Click for a post on that.

Those who serve the beast think of themselves as being Godly, but they are not, , “…having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!… these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all…” 2Timothy 3:5, 8-9

Those who serve the beast will be made to come and worship before our feet, “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” “To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” Revelations 1:5-6 “If we endure, we will also reign with Him.” 2 Timothy 2:12 It’s hard to imagine that I would be given authority over anything. That’s the way my mind, emotions, and behaviors perform in this world. At the same time, the very same people who are rejected in this world are the ones who Jesus Christ accepts.

Those who reject the love of God will know that He truly loves us who keep the testimony of Jesus. “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” Romans 8:31-35

Our Lord Jesus says, “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which will come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” We must also remember that we are to remain faithful to Him, within this world, until He returns, to hold on to His testimony, as quoted, “Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.

While we consider that we will be kept from the hour of trial that comes to the population of this world, we have to remember that Jesus Christ is our example of what we should be like at that time. Jesus prayed just before His suffering, crucifixion, and death on the Cross, which was the very purpose of His coming…to atone for sin as the Lamb of God. He prayed that He would not have to go through that suffering and pain, to be given a way of escape, as quoted, “Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.” He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.” And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy. So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. Then He came to His disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.” Matthew 26:38-46

Jesus asks, “Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” They said to Him, “We are able.” So He said to them, “You will indeed drink My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared by My Father.” Matthew 20:22-23

… I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” John 17:9, 14-16

Jesus prayed that we not be taken from this world, but to be sanctified while in this world, “I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are YoursI have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.” John 17:9, 14-19

Today, some people do not want to admit that we are living within days of the beast and they want people to believe that Christians will not be on this earth during that time. They are the same ones who will not admit that there is a presence in this world that has power over physiology to give people what to speak, do, think, and feel. It despises belief in God, Christ Jesus, and the presence of the Holy Spirit. It is the beast that gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people. By what they are given to say and do they are conformed to the mark, name, number of the beast.

We know the whole world is suffering a lot nowadays, and people everywhere are being tested to see where they stand, with the global culture of the beast, or will they turn to God through Jesus Christ. As followers of Jesus Christ, we will be kept from that testing because we have already been proven to persevere in the testimony of Jesus Christ. The time of testing of the people of this world will become severe within the events of the Seven Trumpets of Revelations 8, 9, 11, the Seven Thunders of Revelations 10, and the Seven Plague s of Revelations 16.

Jesus Christ has given the Holy Spirit as our Comforter, our Helper, within a world that is hostile to we who make Jesus our Lord and Savior. “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:15-18

Our Lord Jesus says that He will return after the global tribulation, the time when He brings all who keep His testimony to be with Him in the eternal New Jerusalem, as quoted, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Matthew 24:29-32

Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.

Faithful to Christ are made pillars in the temple of God and door open into the New Jerusalem.

“He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’ Isaiah 3:12-13

Overcomers are we who hold to belief in God the Creator, the testimony of Jesus Christ, and the presence of the Holy Spirit. We are made a pillar in the temple of God. Our body is the temple of God, “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” 1 Corinthians 6:19 In that light, we who live for Jesus Christ are the pillars of the body as the temple of the Holy Spirit. Also, we Believers will be the pillars of the eternal New Jerusalem because only we who live for God through Jesus Christ will be there. Being the pillar of the temple of God means that our place, or standing, with Him will never be moved, we will never leave the presence of the Holy Spirit and he will never remove us from the Lamb’s Book of Life.

The Lord has written on us His name, meaning we are His children that He will never leave, “…and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” Matthew 28:20 “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  Hebrews 13:5 “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—… for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:16-18

The name of the city of God is written on us as well, and the name of that city is the New Jerusalem, meaning we are destined for that eternal city, “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels…” Hebrews 12:22

His new name is written on us. Whatever that new name is, I will embrace it with all of my heart, soul, and mind.

“Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.” Revelations 21:1-3

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
