Understanding the book of prophecy is closed to those without Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 29:9-12

“Pause and wonder! Blind yourselves and be blind! They are drunk, but not with wine; They stagger, but not with intoxicating drink.” Isaiah 29:9

In that verse, pause and wonder refers to thinking about things by worldly standards and values, and by doing that we blind ourselves to the truth found in God, through Jesus Christ, in the presence of the Holy Spirit. “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ…Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron…” Colossians 2:8, 1 Timothy 4:1-2

Those of today’s culture, which is global, are drunk and staggering, but not talking about substance abuse. They are drunk with the intoxication of the beast that gives them what to speak, do, think, and feel. They stagger out-of-balance with God the Creator, out-of-balance with the Christ Jesus, and out-of-balance in the presence of the Holy Spirit. The beast gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people. That is their intoxication, “And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 By what the global culture is given to say and do, they are conformed to the mark, name, number of the beast.

Referring to the formation of the global government of the beast, this is written, “I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.” Revelations 17:6 Click for a post on the formation of the one world government of the beast, from Revelations 17. The United Nations was established in 1945, immediately after World War 2, and brought the government of the beast with it, as described in Daniel 8:1-14.

“For the Lord has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; And He has covered your heads, namely, the seers.” Isaiah 29:10

The Lord has poured out the spirit of deep sleep upon today’s culture for embracing worldly philosophy, holding to basic principles of human physiological needs, listening to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies against God the Creator, Jesus the Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Their conscience is seared, not working within the presence of the Holy Spirit. Their eyes are closed to the prophecies of the Bible and to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The “eyes” of the corrupt prophets who embrace worldly teachings are shut closed, as are the “eyes” of seers.

When worldly teachings are embraced as truth, the eyes and ears are closed to the Scriptures of the Holy Bible. Our Lord Jesus says called the Pharisees blind leaders of the blind, “They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” Matthew 15:14 Jesus also says that He spoke in parables because the eyes and ears of the Jewish people were shut. They were blind and deaf to the truth of Bible prophecy of His coming and to His testimony, “Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: ‘Hearing you will hear and will not understand, and seeing you will see and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed…'” Matthew 13:14-15

“The whole vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is literate, saying, “Read this, please.” And he says, “I cannot, for it is sealed.” Isaiah 29:11

The Israelites had all they needed to understand what God expected of them at that time. They had the Ten Commandments, the animal sacrifices to atone for sin, and the whole law of Moses, which enabled them to live obediently to the expectations of the Lord. They were very literate in the word of God, but because their heart and mind were closed to the Spirit’s leading, the scriptures were like a sealed book to them. In the days of Jesus, the Pharisees were not able to see the prophesies of the Bible to see Jesus as the fulfillment of those prophecies. As literate as they were with the letter of the law, the Scriptures were like a sealed book to them. When people handed the book to them to be read concerning the coming of Jesus Christ, they were saying in spirit, “I cannot, for it is sealed.”

Today, we see the prophets of the Bible, and the Apostles of Jesus Christ being very, very literate in the letter of Scriptures as well as in the Spirit of God. Even then, when it comes to the book of Revelations, the prophets and the Apostles could have been handed that book, in their day, and not be able to read it with understanding. That’s because Revelations was written for us to understand in today’s times. That is also true with the book of Daniel, as quoted, “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end…” Daniel 12:4 The book of Revelations and Daniel are examples of two books that were sealed until this time of the end.

The books are sealed until the end times, so who will be on this earth to read those books? The followers of Jesus Christ will be on this earth in the end times, to read the books of prophecy with understanding. The unbelievers of the end times will certainly not want anything to do with the prophecy of the word of God, nor Jesus Christ, nor the Holy Spirit.

As we know, the book of Revelations was sealed by seven seals, known as the Seven Seals of Revelations 6. No one in heaven or on earth was able to open those seals, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.” Revelations 5:2-3 In the next verse, we see that Christ Jesus is worthy to unloose the seals. At the opening of the prophetic books, we need people who are literate in the word of God, with understanding in the Spirit, as described in the next verse.

“Then the book is delivered to one who is illiterate, saying, “Read this, please.” And he says, “I am not literate.” Isaiah 29:12

As the global culture becomes more engrossed into worldly doctrine, there will be more and more people who are illiterate in the Scriptures and even more illiterate in their understanding within the Spirit. The book of the Holy Bible, the prophetic books, will be handed to someone to interpret what is being said, but the reply will be, “I am not literate.”

Today, the doctrine of humanism is the fig leaf worn by those who serve the beast that gives them what to say, do, think, and feel. Humanism is “…an outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters. Humanist beliefs stress the potential value and goodness of human beings, emphasize common human needs, and seek solely rational ways of solving human problems.” They are literate in the “Sustainable Development Goals” of the United Nations, but illiterate in God as the Creator, Jesus as the Christ, and the Holy Spirit who restrains lawlessness.

For we who live for God through Jesus Christ, we do have an understanding of Bible prophecy because everything is unfolding right before our eyes. Our Lord Jesus is the one worthy to unloose the Seven Seals, and “…the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelations 19:10 If we want to know where the world is within prophecy, we only need to know where Jesus is within the world. Jesus is truly worthy to unloose the Seven Seals, “So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” Revelations 5:4-5

The opening of the Seven Seals brings the events of the Seven Trumpets of Revelations 8, 9, and 11, the Seven Thunders of Revelations 10, and the events of the Seven Plagues of Revelations 16.

“And he said to me, ‘Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand.'” Revelations 22:10

We know the time of the end is at hand for one reason that is obvious on all seven continents of this planet, and it originated in the book of Daniel, which is quoted by Jesus in Matthew 24, and corresponds to the description of the beast in Revelations 13. That one reason is that there is a presence in the world that has power over physiology to give people what to speak, do, think, and feel. That presence is the beast that gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people. By what they say and do, they are conformed to the mark, name, number of the beast.

The verses from Daniel and Matthew 24 are quoted below;

“And from the time that the daily sacrifice will be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate set up...” Daniel 12:11 Click here for the posts on the book of Daniel. The daily sacrifice is the daily devotion given to God, through Jesus Christ, in the presence of the Holy Spirit. It has been taken away in regards to the churches abandoning the Gospel of Jesus Christ to partner with community values and teachings. It also refers to the devotion of our heart that is given to Jesus Christ being taken away. It is taken away so that the abomination that makes desolate can be set up. An abomination is something that is vehemently opposed by God, and that abomination makes desolate. The abomination is making the temple of God desolate, which is our body as the home of the Holy Spirit.

The abomination that makes desolate is set up within our body by the power over physiology to give people what to feel, think, say, and do. It is set up as God, within our body, the temple of God. The abomination that makes desolate is the beast, and the one, “…who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:4 Click for a post on that.

Christ Jesus quoted Daniel when speaking on the end times, “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand)…” Matthew 24:15 Click here for the posts on Matthew 24.

Today, we are able to understand the prophecy of Daniel, we see the sign that Jesus signaled about the abomination of desolation standing in the Holy Place, and we can understand the book of Revelations. “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

“Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls—Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills.” Habakkuk 3:17-19

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
