The Lord brings His wrath upon Israel, and Israel will be put to shame due to reliance on worldly power and might.

Isaiah 30:1-5

“Woe to the rebellious children,” says the Lord, “Who take counsel, but not of Me, and who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, that they may add sin to sin…” Isaiah 30:1

The rebellious children of Israel were not listening to the word of God when making decisions about their future path in life. They were making plans, but not according to the Spirit of God. One bad decision, and one bad plan, led to even worse consequences. Sin was added to more sin because with every errant decision and plan they were making, they drifted further away from the Ten Commandments, the animal sacrifices to atone for sin, and from the Spirit of God. As followers of Jesus Christ, our plans and decisions must not push aside our belief in God the Creator, must not push aside our witness to Jesus as the Christ and Son of God, and must not push aside the presence of the Holy Spirit in our life.

The rebellious children refer to the Israelites from the kingdom of Judah, and Jerusalem was the capital of Judah, “The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, bAhaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah. Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth! For the Lord has spoken: “I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against Me…” Isaiah 1:1-2 In the day of Isaiah, the Israelites were divided between the kingdom of Israel and the kingdom of Judah.

In the verses of this post, the Spirit of the Lord, through Isaiah, brings to the memory of the Israelites of Judah that Ahaz, king of Judah, went to Egypt to seek a military alliance and aid from Egypt as protection against the Assyrians. However, Ahaz received no help from Egypt, so he surrendered to the Assyrians by paying tribute to the king of Assyria to solicit his protection from the king of Syria and the king of Israel. The king of Syria and Israel formed a military confederacy to fight against the Assyrians and intended to come against the king of Judah. The surrender of Ahaz to the Assyrians is as quoted, “So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, saying, “I am your servant and your son. Come up and save me from the hand of the king of Syria and from the hand of the king of Israel, who rise up against me.” And Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasuries of the king’s house, and sent it as a present to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria heeded him; for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus and took it, carried its people captive to Kir, and killed Rezin.” 2 Kings 16:7-9

To trust in military alliances instead of trusting the Lord brings the wrath of His judgment. Likewise, to surrender to forces that offer military protection instead of surrendering to God through Jesus Christ brings His wrath as well. “‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.” Zachariah 4:6 Peace does not come through guns, bombs, power and might that this world offers, but comes through Jesus Christ, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27

In the coming verses of this post, by the Spirit of the Lord, Isaiah reminds the Israelites that the ten plagues were sent to Egypt through Moses and Aaron. That was a reminder of how the wrath of God comes against those who oppress and make war with His people, and also of the deliverance that He brings to His people. The Lord brings the wrath of His judgement against this world through the events of the Seven Trumpets of Revelations 8, 9, and 11, the Seven Thunders of Revelations 10, and the Seven Plagues of Revelations 16. His deliverance is brought through Christ Jesus, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

“Who walk to go down to Egypt, and have not asked My advice, to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!” Isaiah 30:2

As stated in the section above, the leaders of the Israelites of Judah went down to seek an alliance of military protection with Egypt. They were seeking to strengthen themselves through the power that the Pharoah had, to put themselves in the shadow of Egypt, the shadow of their protection. That is against the advice of the Lord who says, “‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.” Zachariah 4:6

The government of the State of Israel has walked down to the United States of America in 1948, the year Israel was established as a State. The leaders of Israel did not consult the advice of the Lord, instead they decided to strengthen themselves in the Middle East through the strength of the U.S.A. The governors of Israel trust in the long global shadow of America’s military, political, and economic power. Israel has been in 19 wars since 1948, click for a list of those wars. They trust in the United States of America over the word of God that says, “‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.” Zachariah 4:6 And Christ Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27

Ezekiel spoke about Israel’s bad decisions and their plans to depend on Egypt’s military support, which is a prophecy against the alliance of Israel with the military and political might of the United States of America, as described in Ezekiel 17

Below is an excerpt from Ezekiel 17, verses 11-17

“Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Say now to the rebellious house: ‘Do you not know what these things mean?’ Tell them, ‘Indeed the king of Babylon went to Jerusalem and took its king and princes, and led them with him to Babylon.” Ezekiel 17:11-12

That refers to the State of Israel being under the dominion of the United Nations [Babylon]. It was necessary for the United Nations to approve the existence of the State of Israel, which they did on May 11, 1949. That was after the independence of Israel was declared on May 14, 1948. The governors of Israel were then taken in as full members of the United Nations in 1949. They are now living under the international laws of the United Nations [Babylon]. In essence, the “princes” and “king” of the State of Israel has been led to “Babylon” [United Nations]. “Babylon” represents the global government of the beast, as described in the post on Isaiah 21:1-2. The United Nations was established in 1945, immediately after World War 2, and brought the government of the beast with it, as described in Daniel 8:1-14 and Revelations 17.

“And he took the king’s offspring, made a covenant with him, and put him under oath. He also took away the mighty of the land, that the kingdom might be brought low and not lift itself up, but that by keeping his covenant it might stand.” Ezekiel 17:13-14

The United Nations has taken the “king’s offspring”, which is the population of the Israelis, and made a covenant with them. That covenant came through the documents/treaty signed when the State of Israel was officially declared a State for all the Jewish people to call their own land. At the same time, the Israelis were put under an oath, requiring specific behaviors of peace towards their Middle East neighbors, respecting specific territorial boundaries, etc. The State of Israel was to remain free of the “mighty of the land” that might have any ambitions to rise against international laws. By removing the “mighty of the land”, the State of Israel would remain a lowly nation, and never to lift itself up above their Middle East neighbors.

“But he rebelled against him by sending his ambassadors to Egypt, that they might give him horses and many people. Will he prosper? Will he who does such things escape? Can he break a covenant and still be delivered?” Ezekiel 17:15

As we see happening in the Middle East today, the governors of the State of Israel have rebelled against the covenant that requires them not to lift themselves up. They have rebelled by sending ambassadors to the United States of America, to empower them with the capability of lifting themselves up with political, military, and economic power. The Lord says, “Will he prosper? Will he who does such things escape? Can he break a covenant and still be delivered?”

“‘As I live,’ says the Lord God, ‘surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised and whose covenant he broke—with him in the midst of Babylon he will die. Nor will Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company do anything in the war, when they heap up a siege mound and build a wall to cut off many persons. Ezekiel 17:16-17

In the territory of the global government of the United Nations, which approved the recognition of the State of Israel, whose covenant the government of Israel despises and broke, the State of Israel will die. In other words, as a result of Israel’s military aggression in the Middle East, which violates not only international laws, but God’s laws, they will be destroyed by the global government of the beast. That destruction is described in Ezekiel 39 on the post about the Day after the Battle of Armageddon.

There is nothing that the mighty army and political power of the United States of America can do to guard against what is coming against Israel. Even today, we already see Israel being under siege, and a huge territory of Israel is currently called the West Bank. Jerusalem is divided in two, West Jerusalem in Israel and East Jerusalem in the West Bank, as seen on the map below,

“Therefore the strength of Pharaoh will be your shame, and trust in the shadow of Egypt will be your humiliation. For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes. They were all ashamed of a people who could not benefit them, or be help or benefit, but a shame and also a reproach.” Isaiah 30:3-5

As described in the very first section of this post, the king of Judah trusted the strength of Pharoah’s weapons to protect them, but they were humiliated and shamed when the Egyptians were not able to help them. The governors of the kingdom of Israel were ashamed because the Egyptians turned out to be of no benefit or help to them. Judah became the focus of disapproval and made a reproach to the nations around them.

Today, the State of Israel is beginning to see the shame and humiliation in their effort to solicit military and political might from the United States of America. They have become a reproach, disappointment, and focus of disapproval to the global culture in cities around the world, to national leaders, and to the assembly of the United Nations. They have been in 19 wars since 1948, and the West Bank has now encroached into a huge part of Israel, as described in the previous section of this post.

Zoan is one of the cities to which Moses and Aaron sent the ten plagues within the territory of Egypt. Hanes is associated with Zoan. The Spirit of the Lord, through Isaiah, is reminding the Israelites that God sent plagues to Egypt to demand that Pharoah release His people from bondage. The same Egypt that the government of Judah trusted over the Lord God. The Lord is able to deliver, today, in the same way that He enabled the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Zoan is mentioned by king David, in the context of the ten plagues, and the exodus, as quoted, “Marvelous things He did in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan…When He worked His signs in Egypt, and His wonders in the field of Zoan…” Psalms 78:12, Psalms 78:43 Also, Isaiah mentions Zoan in this verse, “Surely the princes of Zoan are fools; Pharaoh’s wise counselors give foolish counsel. How do you say to Pharaoh, “I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?” Isaiah 19:11

Today, the Lord is letting the governors of the State of Israel know that it is futile to trust in the military, political, and economic strength of foreign nations. Today, the United States of America is being plagued in many ways. With that, the Lord brings the wrath of His judgement against this world through the events of the Seven Trumpets of Revelations 8, 9, and 11, the Seven Thunders of Revelations 10, and the Seven Plagues of Revelations 16. His deliverance is brought through Christ Jesus, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and will not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5:24

The post on Ezekiel 19 reveals the shame, humiliation, and reproach of Israel after relying on Egypt to help them militarily against the Babylonian Empire. Babylon represents the global government of the beast, as described in the post on Isaiah 21:1-2

Below is an excerpt from Ezekiel 19;

“Moreover take up a lamentation for the princes of Israel, and say: ‘What is your mother? A lioness: She lay down among the lions; Among the young lions she nourished her cubs.” Ezekiel 19:1-2

That describes how the State of Israel is a nation among the lions that surround her. In that hostile environment, the government of Israel has nourished and raised lion cubs to fight against her adversaries. Today, those adversaries also include the assembly of the United Nations. For Israel to be compared to lion cubs is not a compliment, but a lamentation against Israel. The Lord expects Israel to live for Him, through Jesus Christ, in the presence of the Holy Spirit, “‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.” Zachariah 4:6 Peace does not come through guns, bombs, power and might that this world offers, but comes through Jesus Christ, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27

“She brought up one of her cubs, and he became a young lion; He learned to catch prey, and he devoured men. The nations also heard of him; He was trapped in their pit, and they brought him with chains to the land of Egypt.” Ezekiel 19:3-4

One of Israel’s lion cubs learned to catch prey and devour, but the nations heard about it, trapped the lion cub in a pit, and placed the lion cub in chains to be held in bondage in Egypt. Today, all of the nations of the world, as seen in the assembly of the United Nations, knows about Israel’s ability to prey upon and devour other people. As a result, as seen in the past since 1948, the lion cub of Israel has been kept in chains, referring to the United States being tasked with the responsibility to hold the aggression of Israel in check. In a sense, that lion cub of Israel has been lost due to not having the independence to wage war that is in conflict with the permission of the U.S.A.

“‘When she saw that she waited, that her hope was lost, she took another of her cubs and made him a young lion. He roved among the lions, and became a young lion; He learned to catch prey; He devoured men. He knew their desolate places, and laid waste their cities; The land with its fullness was desolated by the noise of his roaring. Then the nations set against him from the provinces on every side, and spread their net over him; He was trapped in their pit. They put him in a cage with chains, and brought him to the king of Babylon; They brought him in nets, that his voice should no longer be heard on the mountains of Israel.” Ezekiel 19:5-9

Israel had another lion cub, which is lost to the global government of the United Nations and its global culture. The State of Israel has become a young lion, considering its ability to wage high-tech warfare. The governors of Israel has proven that they know the “desolate places” of their adversaries, referring to their intelligence operations and working in harmony with the intelligence of foreign powers, like the United States of America. Lands have been, and are being desolated by the noise of the young lion’s roaring.

The nations are set against the State of Israel, from every side…from the enemies surrounding her on every side of her borders, from the enemies of the global culture in cities around the world, and from the enemies within the assembly of the United Nations. The State of Israel has become an international outlaw because of the success of its intelligence operations and the success of its use of military power. Now, the global government is not relying on the United States to keep Israel “in check”. The governors of Israel are now being put in chains as they are brought to the “king of Babylon”, to the assembly of the United Nations. A net is being spread over the young lion of Israel through international laws, the International Criminal Court, the Security Council of the United Nations, etc. The intent is to silence the roaring voice of Israel, that the voice should no longer be heard on the mountains of Israel.
