The strength of the global economy will be zapped and the earthly Garden of Eden will be destroyed.

Isaiah 23:10-14

“Overflow through your land like the River, O daughter of Tarshish; There is no more strength.” Isaiah 23:10

Tarshish was being made economically prosperous by the extensive trade routes of Tyre. When Tyre collapsed, there was no more strength in the economy of Tarshish [which is the southern coast of modern-day Spain]. The only option left for the survival of Tarshish was to move inland and no longer could they depend on the trade that was coming along the coast. They had to find another way to make a living apart from trade with Tyre. The inhabitants of Tarshish overflowed their land like the River, resorting to the humble life of farming, and other such means of living.

That is also a prophecy against the global economy of the United Nations, after they have been established as the undisputed one world government of the beast. That is a time when the United States of America, and all nations, will be under the rule of the global government. The global economy will collapse, as described in Revelations 18. There will be no more strength for the nations of the world because their economic lifeline would have been rooted in the global economy, governed through the government of the beast [operating through the United Nations]. The digital currency will be useless as that system will collapse in that day. People and nations all around the world will have to go into survival mode, a time of lawlessness, chaos, violence, as people seek to survive at the expense of others. They will be overflowing the global landscape like a river. The power center of the beast is plunged into darkness in the Fifth Plague of Revelations 16:10-11, rendering the global government and its global culture powerless.

“He stretched out His hand over the sea, He shook the kingdoms…” Isaiah 23:11a

The Lord has given a commandment against Canaan to destroy its strongholds. Isaiah 23:11b.

The territory of Canaan, during the day of Joshua, is seen on the map below. On that map, Tyre is seen in the northwest corner along the Mediterranean Sea. Canaan was the land that God promised the Israelites, and those obedient to the word of Lord crossed over into Canaan. The Spirit of the Lord, through Isaiah, reveals that nations were depending on the economic prosperity of Tyre to create their earthly promised land. For that reason, the Lord vowed to destroy its strongholds. Those strongholds included the centers of economic trade that made the nations prosperous.

Today, the Lord has given us the eternal promised land of the New Jerusalem, through Jesus Christ, in the presence of the Holy Spirit. Today’s culture, which is global, depends on economic prosperity for peoples and nations around the world, and have rejected the eternal promised land. They are building an earthly Garden Eden, which the Lord has vowed to destroy, “A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness…a people come, great and strong, the like of whom has never been…a fire devours before them, and behind them a flame burns; The land is like the Garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness…” Joel 2:2-3

Our Lord Jesus says to us, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?…Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Mark 8:36-37, Matthew 6:19-21

On the map below, the red line encircles the land of Canaan [during the days of Joshua]. The boundary of Canaan is actually the black line near the red line. Tyre and Sidon are at the northwest corner of the map, where modern day Lebanon is located. Canaan was divided among various tribes and city-states during Isaiah’s time.

“And He said, “You will rejoice no more, O you oppressed virgin daughter of Sidon. Arise, cross over to Cyprus; There also you will have no rest.” Isaiah 23:12

How was the “virgin” daughter oppressed? She was oppressed during the collapse of the trade routes of Tyre. Her “virginity” was that she never knew anything else in the world except for the value of worldly resources. When Tyre collapsed, the “virgin daughter” was oppressed, not being able to remain true to economic prosperity…she had to find another way to survive and make a living.

I’m a 1959 “Baby Boomer”, so I know life when the Gospel of Jesus Christ still had roots in the Churches. Even at that time, the conflict was seen of how community policies were beginning to prohibit public expressions of the testimony of Jesus Christ. Today, it’s obvious to see how the the churches have abandoned the message of the Cross to partner with community goals. They serve the beast that gives them what to speak, do, think, and feel. Nowadays, the younger generation are “virgins” in their purity to the community culture, as they are taught that the beast is to be honored and the need for Jesus Christ is something to be ignored. The only life they know is for the values of this world, wrapped up in physical needs, while ignoring the presence of the Holy Spirit. They buy into the need for economic prosperity, a global family, and the need for a global economy. They embrace the “Sustainable Development Goals” of the United Nations.

When the Lord said to the “virgin daughter”, “Arise, cross over to Cyprus; There also you will have no rest…” it was like saying, “Go ahead, I don’t care, do what you want to do, it won’t help!” There wasn’t anywhere, anyone, or anything that the “virgin daughter” could turn to in her time of economic distress. When the global economy collapses, as described in Revelations 18, the “virgin children” of the global culture won’t know what to do. There will not be anyone, anywhere, or anything that they can turn to…they will experience a broken world filled with chaos, lawlessness, and violence.

The Lord gives us the Holy Bible so that we would know that His word is sure to happen, that He has the power over the storms of this world, as quoted, “Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” Matthew 8:23-27

Our Lord Jesus warns us against putting our faith in worldly prosperity and shepherds us to put our faith in the treasures of heaven. Jesus brings eternal Salvation and gives us the Holy Spirit as the guarantee of our eternal inheritance, Ephesians 1:13-14.“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” John 3:16-19

“Behold, the land of the Chaldeans, this people which was not; Assyria founded it for wild beasts of the desert. They set up its towers, they raised up its palaces, and brought it to ruin.” Isaiah 23:13

The Chaldeans were part of the Babylonian Empire, and when Babylon collapsed, the land of the Chaldeans was left for the wild beasts of the desert, as quoted, “Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldeans’ pride, will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.” Isaiah 13:19 Click for a post on Isaiah 13:17-22.

Babylon represents the global government of the beast of today, and that is described in the post on Isaiah 21:1-2. When describing the collapse of the global economy in Revelations 18, it begins like this, “‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!’ She has become a dwelling for demons and a haunt for every impure spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable animal. For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries.” Revelations 18:2-3

This present global government has set up its watch “towers” [security system] by requiring all people to welcome the beast to govern through them by giving them what to speak, do, think, and feel. “Palaces” are raised up, which are places where people of honor, power, prestige, and influence stay. The global economy collapses when the power center of the beast is plunged into darkness, as mentioned in the paragraph below. When that happens, all the “towers” will not be functional and those staying in “palaces” will be brought to ruin.

Today, all nations that are part of the global government of the beast will be left for the “wild beasts”. The “wild beasts” refers to the global population, a population that incites chaos, rebellion, lawlessness, and violence everywhere. The world becomes a demonic place. That happens when the power center of the beast is plunged into darkness in the Fifth Plague {Revelations 16:10-11]. The government of the beast will be left powerless, leading to the Battle of Armageddon of Revelations 16:12-16.

“Wail, you ships of Tarshish! For your strength is laid waste.” Isaiah 23:14

Tarshish was on the “other side of the world” from Tyre and Sidon, revealing the far-reaching economic impact of Tyre’s trade routes. Tyre was making nations everywhere prosperous. Tarshish was where the southern coast of Spain is today, and Tyre was where Lebanon is today.

Today, regardless of how far-reaching the global economy of the United Nations is, the prophecy from the Spirit of the Lord says, “Wail, for your strength is laid waste.

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
