Image of the god of this world is fashioned into human beings

The verses of this post refer to, “Those who make an image,” Isaiah 44:9, as described in the post on Isaiah 44:9-11

“The craftsman stretches out his rule, he marks one out with chalk; He fashions it with a plane, he marks it out with the compass, and makes it like the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man, that it may remain in the house.” Isaiah 44:13

That verse is describing how an idol was made, and the “one” being marked refers to the image of the idol chosen to be made. Like today, a carpenter uses a tape measure to make markings with a pencil to sketch what will be cut out. Then, a plane is used to give shape to the piece that was cut out and adds detail with a level or compass. The final image is what the carpenter envisioned that the “one” would be fashioned into. In the case of the maker of idols, the image was made like the figure of a person, according to the beauty of a person, that it would remain in the house.

Today, human beings are being fashioned into the image of the beast. The image of the beast is given breath/life to speak by speaking and living through people.

The “one” being marked out is the person being formed into the mold of the image of the beast. The beast that has power over physiology envisions what each person will be molded into. The beast carries out that sketch through the community culture that the beast gives what to say and do to a person and what to think and feel about the person being sculpted. When all is said and done, the persons become the living image of the beast that speaks and lives through them. By what the beast gives them to say and do, they are the image/person that the beast envisioned them to be, and their place in life is determined by that. Although they are flesh and blood human beings, they are easily seen as vessels of the power of darkness because they oppose belief in God the Creator, they reject Jesus as Lord and the Christ, and they oppose the presence of the Holy Spirit. They are conformed to the number, name, and mark of the beast.

When a person is conformed to the image of the beast, the beast remains in the house. The house being our body created to be the temple of the Holy Spirit, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16 By giving people what to say, do, think, and feel, the beast sits as God, in the temple of God, as if is God, and is the one “…who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:4. Our Lord Jesus says, “It is written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ” Matthew 21:13

“He cuts down cedars for himself, and takes the cypress and the oak; He secures it for himself among the trees of the forest. He plants a pine, and the rain nourishes it.” Isaiah 44:14

Isaiah, by the Spirit of the Lord, is describing how people were doing the work of cutting down trees and planting trees to make idols with their own hands. They even depended on the rain to make the trees grow, which is the same wood that they would serve as their gods. In other words, they depended on their own efforts and the rain to create something that they would serve to guide their day-to-day lives.

The Spirit of the Lord is saying that people were serving an image that they made with their own hands instead of serving the Creator that no man is able to make. In Paul’s speech on Mars Hill, he says by the Holy Spirit, “God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things…for in Him we live and move and have our being…therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising.” Acts 17:24-25, 28-29

We live in a world where the masses of people around the world show the character of the god they serve as they place more importance on trees, soil, rain etc., than on God who created all of those things. They rely on the “Sustainable Development Goals” of the United Nations to save humanity and the planet. They serve wood as the promise is made to the global culture that an earthly Garden of Eden will be created. The Lord God says the following about their intent to create an earthly Garden of Eden by serving wood, water, soil, and the environment instead of Him, the Living God, “A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, like the morning clouds spread over the mountains. A people come, great and strong, the like of whom has never been; Nor will there ever be any such after them…A fire devours before them, and behind them a flame burns; The land is like the Garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; ” Joel 2:2-3
