“The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert a highway for our God. every valley will be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places will be made straight and the rough places smooth; The glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all flesh will see it together; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” Isaiah 40:3-5

By the Holy Spirit, Luke quotes the verses of Isaiah to describe John the Baptist as the fulfillment of prophecy, “…as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight. Every valley will be filled and every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places will be made straight and the rough ways smooth; And all flesh will see the salvation of God.’” Luke 3:4-6

As followers of Christ Jesus, we are the John the Baptist of today’s time. We are in the wilderness, a desert, saying, “Prepare for the return of Jesus.” The world we live in today is a wilderness/desert when it comes to planting the Gospel seed. The spirit and soul of people are not receptive to the testimony of Jesus, and nothing is able to grow within them relating to belief in God the Creator, acknowledging Jesus as the Christ and Lord, and relating to the fruit of the Holy Spirit. The desert of the spirit and soul is caused by the beast that governs from the power of darkness with the ability to give people what to say, do, think, and feel. The beast gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people. Everywhere, people are being conformed to the name, number, mark of the beast by what they are given to say and do.

We have a message that says, “Make His paths straight“, meaning to open a pathway within our heart and soul for Jesus Christ to come in. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me…for God so loved the world that He sent His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” Revelations 3:20, John 3:16

We have a message that says, “Every valley will be filled and every mountain and hill brought low.” That means that the low valley within the spirit and soul will be filled with the Holy Spirit by the remission of sin through Jesus Christ. Everyone who thinks he is above the need for Jesus will be brought low. “For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” Matthew 23:12 How do we know if we are living humbly and have the Holy Spirit? If we do not speak against Christ Jesus and say that He is Lord, we have the Holy Spirit, “Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:3 “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38

We have a message that says, “The crooked places will be made straight and the rough ways smooth;” That means that through Jesus Christ, the crooked and rough places within our spirit and soul will be made straight and smooth. The crooked and rough places within our heart and soul are rooted in unbelief in God the Creator, speaking contempt for Christ Jesus, and impeding the presence of the Holy Spirit. The straight and smooth places within us allow access to reconciling to God, through Jesus Christ, in the presence of the Holy Spirit. The crooked and rough places occur from living for the beast that gives people what to say and do. The beast intends to make a crimp in the pipeline that flows with belief in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The beast intends to roughen people up to harden them against the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We have a message that says, “…all flesh will see the salvation of God.” No longer is the word of God exclusive to the Jewish people, as it was in the Old Testament. Today, Salvation has come to all people, anyone who believes in Christ Jesus will be saved, “For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved…The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light,
and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.” Romans 10:13, Matthew 4:16

We have a message that says, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29
