In the scripture below, it is written, “Then Assyria will fall…”, and that refers to the time of the Day of the Lord and the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, as described in the post on Isaiah 31:4-7.
“Then Assyria will fall by a sword not of man, and a sword not of mankind will devour him. …” Isaiah 31:8a
When this present world system falls, it will not be by the rebellion and violence of people, the global government and its global culture will not be destroyed by the will of humankind. The Lord has already forecasted the wrath of His judgment that He plans to unleash on this present world system. There should be no mistake that the Lord God is the one bringing the collapse of the government of the beast.
Global warming is already in this world, as forecasted by the Spirit of the Lord, even though the United Nations wants the global population to think that by their collective action they can turn it back, without repentance to God through Jesus Christ. Global warming is the Fourth Plague of Revelations 16:8-9 and is already threatening the survival of humanity. The Lord further brings the fall of this present world system by plunging the power center of the beast into darkness in the Fifth Plague of Revelations 16:10-11. The power center of the beast is what gives people what to speak, do, think, and feel. No amount of human effort is able to destroy it, but the Lord is doing that, and global warming is instrumental in making that happen. Then comes the Battle of Armageddon in the Sixth Plague of Revelations 16:12-17, which is the last thing the government of the beast and its global culture wants to see happen.
The Lord has also forecasted other events to happen on this earth to bring destruction to this present world system. The Lord God wants there to be no mistake that it is by His hand that the government of the beast is being brought down. Through it all, He expects people to see the reality of His presence, to return to Him through Jesus Christ, and to embrace the presence of the Holy Spirit, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
The other events that the Lord has forecasted include the Seven Trumpets of Revelations 8, 9, and 11, the Seven Thunders of Revelations 10, and the Seven Plagues of Revelations 16.
Our Lord Jesus Christ defeats the government of the beast, and its global culture, by personally defeating the beasts and Satan himself, which is not possible by the actions of a person nor by the actions of all humanity working together, “The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” Revelations 20:10
The government of the beast, and its global culture, functions through the beast that has power over physiology to govern by giving them what to say, do, think, and feel. Only through Jesus Christ is that beast defeated. The beast gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people. That is a direct attack against God who has made us the temple of the Holy Spirit by faith in Jesus Christ. The Lord wants us to shun the beast that sets himself up as Him within our thoughts, feelings, words, and behaviors. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” John 3:18-19 The culture of the beast is conformed to the mark, name, number of the beast by what they are given to say and do.
“Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” Revelations 14:9-11
“But he will flee from the sword. And his young men will become forced labor.” Isaiah 31:8b Lawlessness, violence, chaos, social upheaval, and economic collapse will fill the world on all seven continents. The “sword” of people will be everywhere, and people will be seeking ways to flee the darkness that surrounds them, but only through Christ Jesus is there Salvation, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. The “young men” refers to the strong of the culture of the beast that is the core of society. They will become forced labor, and I would say that is literal since the power center of the beast will have been plunged into darkness at that time [as stated in the second paragraph in the section above]. Those once living by the empowerment of the beast will be powerless and exposed to the force coming against them in a lawless world.
“He will cross over to his stronghold for fear, and his princes will be afraid of the banner,” Isaiah 31:9a Those of the culture of the beast will be seeking a stronghold to cross over to in fear of the calamity that the hand of the lord has brought upon them. They will never admit that God is in control, nor that they need to acknowledge Jesus for the forgiveness of unbelief, nor that they need to embrace the presence of the Holy Spirit, “…and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.” Revelations 16:9 The princes are those who would have had governing power at that time but now is powerless and vulnerable in a “world gone mad”. The banner they fear is the banner that rallies people around the global culture, which at that time is in shambles.
“Says the Lord, whose fire is in Zion and whose furnace is in Jerusalem.” Isaiah 31:9a. In an earthly sense, we already see today the fire and furnace that is within the State of Isarel, and Zion is in Jerusalem. Isarel has been in 19 wars since the very year they were recognized as the State of Israel in 1948. Click for a list of those wars. Zion and Jerusalem are also where God rules from to reign down the fire of His judgment upon this earth, and is the eternal home of we whose faith is in Christ Jesus, “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant…” Hebrews 12:22-24
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
