Government laws seal Christian persecution

“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.” Daniel 6:10

In the previous post on Daniel 6:1-9, Darius had just signed a law ordering all people to pray to him. If anyone refused, they would be thrown into a den of lions. Daniel continued to pray to God every morning, noon, and night even after he knew it was illegal to do so. Daniel left the window open so anyone could have seen him praying to God.

Daniel was one of the top governing officials within the inner circle of king Darius, but he was left out of the legislative meeting that passed the law that everyone must pray to Darius. Today, it’s quite obvious that the values of the Bible are left out of the laws passed in congress. In that light, it’s obvious that the opinions and votes of we who live for God the Creator, through Jesus Christ are left out when the laws of the land are made. Even then, we continue to live for Christ Jesus in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Our “windows” are open for all the world to see that our prayers are by the intercession of Jesus Christ. Those open “windows” allow the Holy Spirit to be seen shining through our spirit, as our Lord Jesus says, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16

The window of our spirit is open for everyone to see that we are not serving the beast that gives people what to say, do, think, and feel. They oppose belief in God, speak against Jesus Christ, and oppose the presence of the Holy Spirit. Even though we know the unwritten law of the land mandates living for the beast, we continue to hold to the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Government officials saw Daniel breaking the law by praying to the Living God.

“Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.” Daniel 6:11 

The men spoken about here are the other two of the inner circle of Darius [Daniel was the third] and the 120 satraps. Satraps were in charge of courts and law enforcement, collected state and local taxes, were in charge of “national guards”, and were responsible for reporting regularly to the president [Darius]. They would be similar to state governors and such that were given charge over branches throughout the provinces of Babylon. That is described in the previous post on Daniel 6:1-9. They assembled together, finding that Daniel had indeed been praying to the Living God, and not to Darius as the law required.

That would be similar to an assembly of national leaders, like the United States Congress, coming together to discuss a “colleague” violating a law by serving Christ Jesus instead of the global agenda. For example, congress members are allowed to perform marriages, but if a law legalized same -sex marriages and required congress members to perform them, a Christian government leader would refuse. As a result, the congress would convene and decide a legal action against the non-compliant Chrisitan. Likewise, if a Christian refused to allow the legalized killing of the unborn in their province, the congress would convene and decide on their punishment. It would be obvious that prayers of a Christian “colleague” was by the intercession of Jesus Christ, and not prayers directed towards the beast. The only prayers the beast is interesting in hearing is for the image of the beast to be given breath/life to speak by speaking and living through people.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we hold to His Gospel regardless of the unwritten laws that require everyone to welcome the image of the beast to live and speak through us. Those unwritten laws are enforced by the hostility towards Christianity coming from the masses of the “democratic” society that live for the beast giving them what to speak, do, think, and feel. We are devoted to welcome the image of Christ to live in us.

Government officials verified through Darius that the law had been broken.

“And they went before the king, and spoke concerning the king’s decree: “Have you not signed a decree that every man who petitions any god or man within thirty days, except you, O king, will be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, “The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.” Daniel 6:12

The governing officials from all over the province of Babylon convened a meeting with king Darius concerning the law of the land. That would be like national government representatives convening within the United Nations to discuss the legality of the existence of the way of Christ under international law. Today, the majority of the countries of the United Nations are atheists, with China and Russia being two of three of the most powerful nations in the world. They welcome the beast to govern through them by what they are given do, say, think, and feel. The topic of the way of Jesus Christ is a sour one to them. When the United Nations becomes the undisputed one world government of the beast, laws will be implemented against the existence of Christianity. Those laws could come through the disguise as hate crimes for speaking of people as being sinners in need of Jesus Christ and speaking about the prophecies of the Bible against today’s global system.

The coming laws against speaking of the Gospel of Jesus Christ will be so clearly written and openly documented that the assembly of national leaders and the assembly of the United Nations will be able to say publicly within televised sessions, “Have you not signed a decree that every man who petitions any god or man within thirty days, except you, O king, will be cast into the den of lions?” By established law, the global leaders will declare, “The thing is true, according to the law… which does not alter.” Our petitions and prayers are evident by the fruit of the Holy Spirit living through us, which does not appear when living by what the beast wants a person to say, do, feel, and think.

We are thrown into the “den of lions” for sharing our born-again testimony, which is the gospel of Jesus Christ written on our heart. The “den of lions” is the fierce wrath of the masses of the global culture, those who serve the image of the beast that is given breath/life by speaking and living through them. They intend to drive Christianity into extinction, as described in the post on Revelations 12. “And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.’” Revelation 12:17

Darius learned that it was Daniel who broke the law and looked for legal loopholes to free him.

“So they answered and said before the king, “That Daniel, who is one of the captives from Judah, does not show due regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day. And the king, when he heard these words, was greatly displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him; and he labored till the going down of the sun to deliver him.” Daniel 6:13-14

The governors of the provinces of Babylon made king Darius aware that Daniel is the one that broke the law by not praying to him but continued to pray to the Living God whose throne sits in Heaven. The governors called Daniel’s faithfulness to God a lack of respect for Darius. Today, the governing authorities consider the followers of Jesus Christ to have a lack of respect for the world system and the community culture. That’s because we desire for the image of Christ Jesus to speak and live through us as we shun the image of the beast that wants to speak and live through us. In a sense, the global population is a captive to the beast that has power over physiology to impose upon people what to think, feel, say, and do. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are the captives from the population of Christianity.

King Darius was greatly displeased with himself that he was tricked into establishing a law that would put one of his closest and most trusted “cabinet members” into a den of lions to be eaten alive. Darius was not greatly displeased with himself that he had signed into law an act that would cause the persecution and death of everyone who lived faithfully to God. Darius was concerned with saving the life of someone who was valuable to him but not concerned about saving a whole population of people whose devotion was to God and not him. We live in a culture today where governing authorities greatly regret making laws that turn out to be detrimental to their goals within the government of the beast. However, they feel no regret at all about signing laws against the existence of the Christian population as a whole.

King Darius set his heart to deliver Daniel, and he labored all day to find a way to rescue him. Darius was trying to find a loophole in the law that would legally set Daniel free. He was not trying any other avenue to release Daniel except for what could be found in the letter of the law. The heart of Darius was rooted in government authority not in the authority of the Living God of Heaven. As our Lord Jesus says, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21 The treasure of the governing authorities of today is the beast that governs through them by giving them what to say, do, think, and feel. That is where their heart is. They have no value for the Christian population as a whole and will only support a follower of Jesus Christ if it is beneficial to their political goals and allowable under the laws of the culture of the beast. Whether those laws are written or unwritten. They might find it within their laws to help someone, but they will never find it within their heart. “He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8

The law is weak and not able to bring justice through the Spirit of the Lord, “For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.” Romans 8:3-5 Either we choose to live by the laws that lead to sin and death, or we live by the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”Romans 8:2

Darius honored the law and put his own certification to sealing Daniel within the den of lions.

“Then these men approached the king, and said to the king, “Know, O king, that it is the law of the Medes and Persians that no decree or statute which the king establishes may be changed. So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you. Then a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signets of his lords, that the purpose concerning Daniel might not be changed.” Daniel 6:15-17

While Darius was trying to find a legal loophole to free Daniel, a valuable government asset to Darius, the satraps and other top level government officials had something to say about that. They reminded Darius that it was the law of the Medes and Persians that no decree or statute which the king established could be changed. Darius was that king who established the law that anyone who did not pray to him would be thrown into a den of lions to be eaten alive.

Today, the governing officials in cities, states, and nations will insist that the global laws of the land be kept. They will not allow global leaders to stray from international laws. There is one global law that is unwritten as of today, but it is firmly set in place in every city around the world. That one law states that all people must serve the beast that has power over physiology to give them what to say, do think, and feel. By the collective force of the global masses of people, that law cannot be altered. The beast gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people everywhere. Bywhat the people are given to say and do, they are conformed to the mark, name, number of the beast.

By legal standards, king Darius knew the provincial leaders were correct, and being bound by the letter of the law, he was prepared to pronounce sentence on Daniel, a man whose life was devoted to the Living God of Heaven. Darius had Daniel brought in to him to be thrown into the den of lion to be eaten alive, “…the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” 2 Corinthians 3:4-6. Those of today’s culture lives by the letter of what the beast gives them to do and say, resulting in death to belief in God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. They are the “den of lions” that we are tossed into for not living by the unwritten law that requires us to serve to the beast and to conform to its culture. It is affliction, duress, and persecution for living for the Gospel of Jesus Christ…suffering physical death at their hands is part of that.

While Daniel was being shoved into the den of lions, to be eaten alive, king Darius said, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.” In essence, Darius was saying to Daniel, “Sorry, Daniel, but the law is the law, I wish you well, good luck, may God help you!” That is what is being said to the followers of Jesus Christ today; that the laws of serving the beast cannot be changed, the law is the law and facing the “den of lions” is the consequence of living for God through Jesus Christ. Without being sincere and genuine, they say that our God will deliver us in the life to come.

Darius had a stone laid over the mouth of the den of lions to lock Daniel in, with no worldly hope of escape. Darius then sealed the den with his own signet ring, meaning that under no circumstance could that stone be taken away without his authorization. Today, the governing authorities have sealed the fate of Christianity so that it cannot be changed. Within the culture of the beast [the den of lions], we followers of Christ are given to them to be “eaten alive” with a fierce show of social disapproval. “And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.’” Revelation 12:17 They intend to drive Christianity into extinction, as described in the post on Revelations 12.
