Jesus Christ brings redemption and understanding, without shame.

“Therefore thus says the Lord, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob…” Isaiah 29:22a

How was Abraham redeemed? Among other aspects, redemption involved restoring a person to their families, communities, or land. Abraham was about 100 years of age when he had his own son, his only son, with Sarah. Sarah was about 90, as quoted, “Now Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. And Sarah said, “God has made me laugh, and all who hear will laugh with me.” Genesis 21:5-6 Sarah laughed because she was way beyond the age of having children, and never in her life was she able to have children. Even so, God promised them, when Abraham was 75 and Sarah 65, that they would have their own son. They had that son 25 years later and named him Isaac. From Isaac would come Jacob, the father of the twelve tribes of Israel [Jacob’s name was changed to Israel in Genesis 32:28]. That fulfilled God’s promise to Abraham when He said, “…one who will come from your own body will be your heir.” Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So will your descendants be. And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.” Genesis 15:4-6 In that way, Abraham was redeemed.

The promise God made to Abraham was concerning the house of Jacob. That’s because it was through Jacob that the Twelve Tribes of Israel were born, each tribe named after one of his sons. One of Jacob’s sons was named Judah, from where the Tribe of Judah comes. From the Tribe of Judah came the Christ, whose name is Jesus. Through Jesus, the descendants of Abraham were multiplied by the birth of Christianity, and like Abraham, our belief in Jesus as the Christ and Son of God is accounted for righteousness, “For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness…” Romans 4:3-5.

“This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face. Selah…Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham.” Psalms 24:6, Galatians 3:7

“Jacob will not now be ashamed, nor will his face now grow pale…” Isaiah 29:22b

For the face to grow pale would mean to experience distress, faintness, or shame, but at the coming of Jesus Christ that would no longer be so. That is described in the post on Isaiah 29:17-21, and a quote referring to the Salvation of the non-Jewish/Gentiles is this, “Is it not yet a very little while till Lebanon will be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be esteemed as a forest? In that day the deaf will hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind will see out of obscurity and out of darkness. The humble also will increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.” Isaiah 29:17-19

The Holy Spirit speaks these words to us through Paul, “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:10-13

“But when he sees his children, the work of My hands, in his midst, they will hallow My name, and hallow the Holy One of Jacob, and fear the God of Israel.” Isaiah 29:23

The children refer to everyone who comes to God, through Jesus Christ, in the presence of the Holy Spirit, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13 We who believe in Jesus Christ are the work of the hands of God, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” John 6:29 We who live for Jesus Christ give reverence to God the Creator, we give reverence to His Holy Son, Jesus. As His children, we say, “For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” Matthew 6:13

“These also who erred in spirit will come to understanding, and those who complained will learn doctrine.” Isaiah 29:24

We can be correct in every letter, verse, and passage of the Bible, but if we err in spirit, then the understanding of the Scriptures is not correct. Upon the coming of Jesus Christ, He gave understanding to those who erred in their understanding of the Scriptures, “When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, “Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works?” Matthew 13:54And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.” 1 John 5:20

Many complained about the burden of the letter of the law, especially under the Pharisees, as Jesus says, “For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.” Matthew 23:4 When our Lord Jesus came, His doctrine was learned, the doctrine that all of His followers learn. We learn that living for God comes through faith in Jesus Christ, not by following manmade routines, special days, events, rites, routine days, etc. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
, 3:1
