Jesus brings rejoicing to the humble and poor, and the terrible and scornful one is brought to nothing.

“Is it not yet a very little while till Lebanon will be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be esteemed as a forest?” Isaiah 29:17

That verse is speaking of the Salvation coming to the Gentiles, any non-Jewish person, by faith in Jesus Christ. The population of the followers of Jesus Christ fulfilled the promise that God made to Abraham to multiply His descendants to be as innumerable as the stars in the sky, as quoted, “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:26-29

Our Lord Jesus went to Lebanon, which is where Tyre and Sidon were, and there He worked a miracle for a Gentile woman from Canaan, as quoted, “Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.” But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.” Matthew 15:21-28

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

“In that day the deaf will hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind will see out of obscurity and out of darkness. The humble also will increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.” Isaiah 29:18-19

In the day that Christ Jesus came, He opened the ears of the deaf to hear the Scriptures through the Holy Spirit. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has been heard on all seven continents of this planet and in all languages, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God…In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance…” Romans 10:17, Ephesians 1:13-14

The Gentiles were blind to the Scriptures because only the Jewish people had the Old Testament writings. That is why the Jewish people considered themselves righteous and superior over the Gentiles. In that way, the Gentiles were living in obscurity and darkness to the Scriptures and to the prophecies about the coming of the Christ, whose name is Jesus. That is why faith came by hearing the testimony of Jesus and not by the written word. Jesus was the word made flesh, so Salvation came by faith in Him not by faith in the laws of Judaism. Our Lord Jesus enabled the Gentiles, you and me, to see out of obscurity and darkness. “Amazing grace! How sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see.” [Amazing Grace].

“Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” Luke 7:22-23

The humble also will increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:3-10

Our Lord Jesus verified the prophecy of Isaiah about Him, as quoted, ““The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Luke 4:18-19 [from Isaiah 61].

“For the terrible one is brought to nothing, the scornful one is consumed, and all who watch for iniquity are cut off—Who make a man an offender by a word, and lay a snare for him who reproves in the gate, and turn aside the just by empty words.” Isaiah 29:20-21

Satan is the terrible and scornful one that is brought to nothing and consumed. Satan was brought to nothing and consumed when our Lord Jesus went to the Cross to atone for sin. Jesus was crucified and died on that Cross, but was resurrected to life after three days, and that was a mighty triumph over His foes. All who live against God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit will be cut off. Christ Jesus has the victory over sin and death, and says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and will not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.” John 5:24-25

The following verses describe the eternal defeat of the terrible and scornful one, “Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image…The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” Revelations 19:20 and Revelations 20:10 Those verses highlight Satan’s unholy trinity, as he tries to mimic the Holy Trinity [God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit] to set himself up as God. The Dragon [Satan] of Revelation 13:4, is the father of the first and second beast. The first beast is mentioned in Revelations 13:1-8 and is the second member of Satan’s trinity. The second beast with two horns like a lamb, of Revelations 13:11-17, is Satan’s version of the Holy Spirit and is the third member of Satan’s trinity.

The global culture is under the influence of the second beast that gives breath/life to the image of the first beast to speak by speaking and living through people. That is done by the power over physiology to give people what to say, do, think, and feel. People are made offenders against God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit by what they are given to say. The culture of the beast plots against people who speak against the beast that enters into the gates of the human body instead of entering through the gate of Jesus Christ, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. I am the door…If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:1, 9-10

The culture of the beast intends to turn aside the followers of Jesus Christ with empty words, “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them…For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.” Ephesians 5:6-7, Romans 16:18

“But there will by no means enter [the New Jerusalem] anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.” Revelations 21:27 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
