“The earth is violently broken, the earth is split open, the earth is shaken exceedingly.” Isaiah 24:19

The Spirit of the Lord, through Isaiah, is describing what will happen to this planet in the process of this present heaven and earth passing away. This planet is violently broken and shaken exceedingly, but our Lord creates a new heaven and earth, the place of our eternal home in the New Jerusalem, “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.” Revelations 21:1

“Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!” And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.” Revelations 16:17-21

“The earth will reel to and fro like a drunkard, and will totter like a hut; Its transgression will be heavy upon it, and it will fall, and not rise again.” Isaiah 24:19-20

We all know the difference between the equilibrium of a sober person and a drunk person. A sober person is able to keep his arms and legs working in harmony to keep balance while walking. In contrast, an intoxicated person is not able to maintain coordination and is off-balance. A sober person maintains a straight course while an intoxicated person staggers and totters to maintain a straight course. The effects of not healing from substance abuse is heavy upon the intoxicated person, the person will eventually fall under the weight of addiction, and will die from the consequences of addiction.

The planet is on a steady course, on a prearranged path, and must stay straight on course. The earth has two motions, it revolves around the sun and spins like a top, as seen in the images below. Those two motions prevent the earth from total destruction, the destruction the Spirit of the Lord describes in the verses of this post. When the earth begins to stagger like a drunkard and totter like a hut swaying in the wind, the world begins to fall apart. The slightest deviation, staggering, tottering, or imbalance of the earth revolving around the sun and spinning, has destructive consequences. It affects climate and weather, as in the phrase “climate change”, which is popular in every city around the world…it affects the length of days…it affects the rotation of seasons…it affects the behaviors of people…it causes tidal waves [tsunamis] etc. Solar flares, a.k.a. solar storms, are becoming more intense nowadays.

The wind is very strong nowadays, even without storms, when the skies are relatively blue and clear. Just recently, here in Ohio, and in Circleville [where I live], dozens of semi-trucks with trailers were blown over by wind gusts…on a day when the skies were relatively clear…no rain, no storms. If something drastically happened to the revolution of the earth around the sun and its spinning, the list below describes what could happen…

1. People would be scattered/propelled across the Earth at a speed of 1000 miles per hour. (No survivors)
2. The oceans would continue moving at 1000 miles per hour and create a massive tsunami. (No survivors)
3. We would be faced with supersonic wind moving at 1000 miles per hour. (No survivors)
4. The earth would be ripped apart.  “…and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell.” Revelation 16:18-19 (No survivors)
5. Earth’s magnetic field is affected and reduced as revolving and spinning begins to stop. Nowadays, ducks can’t seem to find their way south anymore, and they do use the magnetic field to guide them…. “…ducks use the Earth’s magnetic field as a primary tool for navigating south during migration. This internal biological compass, known as magnetoreception, allows them to maintain a steady course even when visual landmarks or celestial cues like the sun and stars are unavailable…”

The Christ, Jesus, says, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.” Matthew 16:2-3

Today, it’s obvious that there is something wrong with the planet, and the voice of the Lord is letting us know it is by His hand. The transgression of the earth is heavy upon it, and it will fall, and not rise again. The Lord expects us to repent and to glorify Him, through Jesus Christ, in the presence of the Holy Spirit, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

“…My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:8-10

The images below is to depict the earth revolving around the sun, as shown on the right, and to depict the earth spinning like a toy top, to the left. A top is a toy that a person twirls and it spins in one place, until it staggers, totters, and falls. The revolution of the earth around the sun takes about 365 days, which is the calendar year, and is what gives us the four seasons. The spinning of the earth takes about 24 hours, which gives us day and night and our clocks are set by that spinning. In that light, you can see how the slightest deviation of the earth’s revolutions and spinning would create major problems in seasonal changes, length of day and night, physiological changes, and so much more.
