“This is the burden which came in the year that King Ahaz died.” Isaiah 14:28

After Ahaz died, Isaiah had a burden to share with Philistia, he had a heavy load of bad news for them, as revealed in the coming verses of this post. The background on Ahaz is described in the post on Isaiah 7:1-9.

“Do not rejoice, all you of Philistia, because the rod that struck you is broken; For out of the serpent’s roots will come forth a viper, and its offspring will be a fiery flying serpent.” Isaiah 14:29

The rod that struck those of Philistia was Ahaz, who was now broken by death. Ahaz was the king of Judah, but was turned from God and functioned as a “pawn” of the Assyrians, as quoted, “And Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasuries of the king’s house, and sent it as a present to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria heeded him; for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus and took it, carried its people captive to Kir, and killed Rezin.” 2 Kings 16:8-9

Modern day Philistia is actually the Gaza Strip, as seen on the map below. On the map to the left, in the red area, is Philistia. On the map to the right, in the white area [southwest corner on the Mediterranean Sea], is the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip rejoices in the day of the death of the independence of the State of Israel.

While Ahaz had died, and was no longer a threat to Philistia, they rejoiced. However, their rejoicing would not last long. From the roots of Ahaz would come a viper, and its offspring would be a fiery flying serpent. That viper, the fiery flying serpent, is known to be the son of Ahaz, Hezekiah, as quoted, “Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea the son of Elah, king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz, king of Judah, began to reign…the Lord was with him; he prospered wherever he went. And he rebelled against the king of Assyria and did not serve him. He subdued the Philistines, as far as Gaza and its territory, from watchtower to fortified city.” 2 Kings 18:1, 7-8

In the day of the Lord [the return of our Lord Jesus Christ], those who rejoice in the death and destruction of Israel will have nothing to rejoice about. They will themselves be destroyed. In a sense, those of the State of Israel is the serpent because they do not believe God, who says that Jesus is the Christ and His Son. From Israel’s roots, was born our Lord Jesus Christ, who is from the tribe of Judah. He is the Viper that brings judgment to this world, and His offspring will be like a fiery flying serpent that comes with Him, “Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” Jude 1:14-15

Those of this world are making a grave mistake to rejoice in “regime” changes, change in government leadership, etc. to bring them victory. The formation of the global government and its global culture, as they come against God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, is facing the judgment of the King of kings. They choose to serve the beast that gives them what to speak, do, think, and feel, and their eternal destiny is in hell.

“The firstborn of the poor will feed, and the needy will lie down in safety; I will kill your roots with famine, and it will slay your remnant.” Isaiah 14:30

Those of Gaza Strip, a.k.a. Philistia, may rejoice in the death of the independence of the State of Israel today, but there day of judgment is coming.

“The firstborn of the poor will feed, and the needy will lie down in safety…” refers to everyone who feeds on the Lord Jesus Christ and we will lay down in safety in the eternal New Jerusalem. Our Lord Jesus is the firstborn “among many brethren” meaning He was the first one resurrected from the dead, outside the laws of Judaism. He was resurrected to eternal life, not to an extension of this temporary life on this earth. All who believe in Him are His brothers and sisters in eternal life. “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren…and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” Romans 8:29, Revelations 1:5-6

We who believe Jesus Christ are granted eternal life at His return, but those who choose to serve the beast that gives them what to speak, do, think, and feel the Lord says this, “I will kill your roots with famine, and it will slay your remnant.” “…those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt.” Daniel 12:2

We have to realize that the word of God never promises peace in this world, no earthly Garden of Eden, no earthly utopia. The only way to peace is by living for God through Jesus Christ in the presence of the Holy Spirit. The only Paradise is eternal life in the New Jerusalem. Since the Seven Seals began opening, this earth has been filled with anything but peace and nothing near to an earthly paradise. The opening of the Six Seals is followed by the United Nations stepping in as the savior and false Christ of humanity and the planet. When the United Nations is established as the undisputed one world government of the beast, there will be “1/2 hour” of silence in heaven [Revelations 9] “When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.” Revelation 8:1 That will be a brief time of peace for the global government and its global culture before the events of the Seven Trumpets [Revelations 8, 9, 11] and Seven Plagues [Revelations 16. Our Lord Jesus Christ returns to bring the only peace this world will ever know, the only real Paradise, the only true eternal Garden of Eden, the only New Jerusalem.

“Wail, O gate! Cry, O city! All you of Philistia are dissolved; For smoke will come from the north, and no one will be alone in his appointed times.” Isaiah 14:31

“…no one will be alone in his appointed times...” referred to a coordinated effort led by Hezekiah, everyone on time to come against Philistia when their time comes. In the days of Isaiah, smoke signals were used as a sign for all the military troops to move in unison, according to the appointed time. Soldiers were stationed at various spots around Philistia, and when they saw the smoke rise they all moved together as one army.

Our Lord Jesus is returning, and it will be an event coordinated in Heaven, every angel in Heaven will be moving with the Lord in their appointed time. The enemies of the Christ, Jesus, will be destroyed, “Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had names written that no one knew except Himself, He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Revelations 19:11-16

“What will they answer the messengers of the nation? That the Lord has founded Zion, and the poor of His people will take refuge in it. Isaiah 14:32

Who were the messengers of the nations? They were ambassadors from Philistia, seeking a peace agreement with Hezekiah, the king of Judah. But only after Hezekiah undisputedly defeated them in battle. Isaiah prophesied about what answer would be given, that the Lord had founded Zion [Jerusalem] and the poor of his people would have refuge there. Hezekiah was the king of Judah, where Zion was, Jerusalem being the capital.

Today, we know the prophesy of Isaiah is not about the earthly Zion/Jerusalem, that is the old Zion/Jerusalem. The State of Israel, where the old Zion/Jerusalem is, is anything but a refuge of safety, security, and peace. When all is said and done, there will be no nations on this earth surrendering and submitting to Israel. The countries of the United Nations laughs that idea to scorn. The goal of the United Nations is to submit all nations to their government agenda, not to allow countries to submit to Israel.

While the government of the beast might laugh to scorn the idea of Israel being a powerful leader in the Middle East, they won’t be laughing in the Day of the Lord. The messengers of the global nations will be totally humiliated, crushed, and defeated at the return of Jesus Christ, and they will see Him as the King of kings, but not as their Lord and Savior, “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.” Revelations 1:7

Our Lord has founded Zion, which is the eternal New Jerusalem. The old Zion/Jerusalem of this earth passes away and the New Zion/Jerusalem comes in the new heaven and earth. All the people of our Lord Jesus Christ will have refuge in Zion, the eternal New Jerusalem. “… you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.” Hebrews 12:22-24

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 5:3-10

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
