The verses of this post refers to the first coming of Jesus Christ, verse 10, and also the second coming of Jesus Christ, as quoted, “It will come to pass in that day that the Lord will set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people…” verse 11

“And in that day there will be a Root of Jesse, who will stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles will seek Him, and His resting place will be glorious.” Isaiah 11:10

“In that day” refers to the first coming of Jesus Christ, who is the Root of Jesse. David is the son of Jesse and Jesus is the descendant of David, all being of the tribe of Judah. Christ, as the Root of Jesse, is described in Isaiah 11:1-5

Our Lord Jesus stands as a banner to the people, for the whole world to see. A banner is lifted up for all people to see, and Jesus was/is lifted up to the Jewish people, who rejects/rejected Him. Because the Jewish people rejected Him, anyone who believes in Him are welcomed into the family of God, “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:11-13 “And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:29

“For the Gentiles will seek Him” refers to the non-Jewish people, you and me and all the world, coming to Jesus to have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. No longer are the laws of Judaism necessary to live for God, our faith in Jesus Christ is enough, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

His resting place is in the presence of His Spirit, the Holy Spirit in us. That rest comes through His grace and mercy because even as sinners He died for us, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest...for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Matthew 11:28 and Ephesians 2:8-9 The glorious and final resting place is in the eternal New Jerusalem, in the new heaven and earth.

“It will come to pass in that day that the Lord will set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people who are left, from Assyria and Egypt, from Pathros and Cush, from Elam and Shinar, from Hamath and the islands of the sea. He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. Also the envy of Ephraim will depart, and the adversaries of Judah will be cut off; Ephraim will not envy Judah, and Judah will not harass Ephraim.” Isaiah 11:11-13

“In that day that the Lord will set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people…” refers to the second coming of Jesus Christ when He calls all Believers, dead and alive, to live with Him eternally, “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we will always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

The remnant is everyone who believes in Jesus Christ, Jewish or non-Jewish…there is neither Jew nor Greek we are all one in Jesus Christ…, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. ” Galatians 3:28-29 Our Lord Jesus is going to gather the remnant at His return, everyone who believes in Him, which includes all of the faithful few remaining loyal to Him through all of the lawlessness and affliction that they go through on the earth in the very last days. “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18

On the map below are the places mentioned from Isaiah 11:11-13. Those places symbolize all of the nations of the world, from where Jesus Christ gathers all of the faithful few to be with Him when He returns. That does not include the unbelieving Jewish people [sons of the Kingdom], as quoted, “And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 8:11-12

The banner He lifts up to all nations also includes His appearance at His return, “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.” Revelations 1:7

A remnant of Israel will return to the Lord, as described in the post on the Day After the Battle of Armageddon from Ezekiel 39. In that same day, in the Day of the Lord, all of Israel’s enemies will be cut off. There will be harmony in the eternal New Jerusalem among the family of Christ.

“But they will fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines toward the west; Together they will plunder the people of the East; They will lay their hand on Edom and Moab; And the people of Ammon will obey them.” Isaiah 11:14

“They will fly down” refers to the outcasts of Israel and the dispersed of Judah who were faithful to the word of Lord. The Lord promised them complete victory over their enemies, as seen on the map below, to the left [the Philistines, the people of the East, Edom, Moab, and Ammon]. That is prophetic for the complete victory we have over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ, and our battle is not against flesh and blood but in the spiritual world, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12

“The Lord will utterly destroy the tongue of the Sea of Egypt; With His mighty wind He will shake His fist over the River, and strike it in the seven streams, and make men cross over dry-shod. There will be a highway for the remnant of His people who will be left from Assyria, as it was for Israel in the day that he came up from the land of Egypt.” Isaiah 11:15-16

“The Lord will utterly destroy the tongue of the Sea of Egypt” refers to destroying the bondage and oppression of the beast that gives people what to speak, think, feel, and do. That destruction comes when the power center of the beast is plunged into darkness in the Fifth Plague of Revelations 16:10-11.The uncanny knowledge and heightened intuition of the global culture of the beast will be destroyed at that time, the tongue of the Sea will be utterly destroyed. Global warming, of Revelations 16:8-9, is instrumental in destroying the power center of the beast.

“With His mighty wind He will shake His fist over the River, and strike it in the seven streams, and make men cross over dry-shod…” refers to drying up the Euphrates River. The Euphrates is seen on the map below. That is prophetic for when the Lord dries up the “Euphrates” to make way for the Battle of Armageddon of the Sixth Plague in Revelations 16:12-17. The seven streams can be thought of as being the seven continents of the world. East of the Euphrates is China and Russia, “Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.” Revelations 16:12-16

Isaiah, by the Spirit of God, compares the drying up of the “Euphrates” to when the Red Sea was parted for the Israelites to cross over on their way to the promised land. When the Egyptians tried to follow, the Red Sea came back together and drowned them all. Click here for the Scripture verses on crossing the Red Sea, from Exodus 14. The global culture of the beast will be swallowed up in death and eternal hell, but the we who live for Jesus Christ will cross over into eternal life.

While the Battle of Armageddon ensues, a highway is made for the remnant of the Believers of the Jewish people who are left from the global battle, as described in the post on the Day After from Ezekiel 39. Also, every non-Jewish Believer who are left on the earth after the Battle of Armageddon will be given a highway into the eternal New Jerusalem in the new heaven and earth. Our Lord Jesus returns when the Seventh Trumpet sounds, as described in Revelations 11:15-19.

Jesus says that He will return after the global tribulation, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His [d]elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Matthew 24:29-31

….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.
