The military of the beast which overruns Israel will be destroyed.
God is against “Gog”, the military of the world government of the beast. “And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal;” Ezekiel 39:1

This chapter of Ezekiel leads up to the Battle of Armageddon, the final battle of this earth, and then gives a glimpse into the day after on this earth. The Battle of Armageddon is the Sixth Plague, and the return of Jesus Christ is the Seventh Plague and Seventh Trumpet.

Today, the territory of Magog would include the countries north of Jerusalem, such as Turkey, Europe, Russia, and perhaps China. Gog is the ruler over all the armies coming against Israel, he is known as Gog of Magog. Meshech and Tubal were the sons of Japheth, the son of Noah, and they migrated to the modern-day area of Russia. At the time of this scripture, they have countries named after them. Gog has all of those countries with him and many more, such as Persia, Ethiopia, Libya, Gomer, and the house of Togarmah from the far north, as quoted in Ezekiel 38:4-6

Ezekiel 38:1-3 starts off the same way. God is against Gog of Magog.

In this chapter of Ezekiel, like in Ezekiel 38, Gog of Magog is described as an earthly and ferocious leader of ruthless armies and many people. They are prophesied to come against Israel like a cloud and a storm. Today on this earth, we can see “Gog of Magog” as the atheistic, unmerciful, and ferocious armies of the world government of the beast and its global culture. They come against Israel like a cloud and a storm. They all meet their destruction in the very last of the last days on this earth.

Gog and Magog is also mentioned in Revelation 20:7-10 and gathered by Satan in an attempt to destroy the resurrected saints of the “1000 year” reign with Jesus Christ on this earth. Satan is destroyed and thrown into the eternal lake of fire, where the beast and second beast (false prophet) will be waiting for him. Click here for a post on the “1000 years” and the destruction of Satan and Gog of Magog.

Gog is mentioned here in verse 1, and Magog is mentioned in verse 6, and represents the Satanic force that attacks Israel.

God brings the global military from the north to bring judgment on Israel. “…and I will turn you around and lead you on, bringing you up from the far north, and bring you against the mountains of Israel. Then I will knock the bow out of your left hand, and cause the arrows to fall out of your right hand.” Ezekiel 39:2-3

The phrase, “I will knock the bow out of your left hand, and cause the arrows to fall out of your right hand.” refers to God rendering the global military powerless. They will be powerless to defend themselves against the wrath of God’s judgement that comes against them. This happens after the global military brings destruction to Israel according to the hand of God. God uses the world government and its global culture to bring His wrath against Israel, and when that is accomplished, God brings destruction to the global military, and to this world.

As quoted in Zephaniah, God assembles the nations together for their destruction, “Therefore wait for Me,” says the Lord, “Until the day I rise up for plunder; My determination is to gather the nations to My assembly of kingdoms, to pour on them My indignation, all My fierce anger; All the earth shall be devoured with the fire of My jealousy.” Zephaniah 3:8

How can this present world system be vulnerable to destruction when it has power over physiology and is able to influence what people do, say, think, and feel? The word of God sheds light on that, as described in the next paragraph,

In the Fifth Plague, the power center of the beast will be plunged into darkness, as described in Revelation 16:10-11. This renders the world government and its global culture powerless. There will be no more uncanny knowledge, heightened intuition, amazing physical ability, extraordinary talents and skills, uncanny authority over others, etc. The entity that gives people what to think, feel, do, and say will be powerless to enable the image of the beast to live and speak through people. The mark of the beast will be powerless to hold people to a specific place in in life. In that powerlessness, the Battle of Armageddon arises (Sixth Plague of revelation 16:12-17), which brings destruction to Israel and ultimately destruction to the global military. After that, comes the Day of the Lord (as described in Zachariah 14) and the return of Jesus Christ.

Global warming is the Fourth Plague of Revelation 16:8-9 and is instrumental in bringing the destruction of the power center of the beast. The more powerful the United Nations become as the one world government the hotter the burning heat of the sun becomes.

This 39th chapter of Ezekiel focuses on the Battle of Armageddon and its aftermath.

Ezekiel chapter 38 also describes the global armies of the north coming against Israel, “You will ascend, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you.” Ezekiel 38:9 “You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My land…” Ezekiel 38:16 This happens in the latter days, which is after the Jewish people were gathered to the State of Israel in 1948. This is during the time of the Battle of Armageddon, but before the Day of the Lord.

God brings the armies from the far north against Israel. From the “far north and all its troops” for the most part refers to the one that wants to be God, as quoted, “For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregations on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’” Isaiah 14:13-14 Ezekiel chapter 1 also relates this entity to the space satellites, space station, and space shuttle.

The entity that exalts itself above God wants to sit within us as if it is God by giving us what to say, do, feel, and think. This entity is in the world today and is the one, “…who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:4 Click for a post on the “man of sin”.Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

Global military collapses on the mountains of Israel. “You shall fall upon the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you; I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. You shall fall on the open field; for I have spoken,” says the Lord God. “And I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in security in the coastlands. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” Ezekiel 39:4-6

The global military gathers for the Battle of Armageddon, and Armageddon translates into Megiddo, or the Battle of Megiddo. “For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty…And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.” Revelation 16:14, 16

In the Battle of Armageddon, the global military and all of the forces with it, falls on the mountains of Israel and the bodies will be piled up for the birds and beasts to feed on. Those bodies will lay on the mountains and in the spansive plains below. Revelation describes this slaughter like this, “Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.” Revelation 19:17-18

God is also going to send fire on Magog, which is known to be the territory of Russia along with many other nations. There are also those who felt secure as part of the global culture living under the world government, but these coastlands will also be destroyed. In fact, the Battle of Armageddon brings destruction to the whole world. During this time, Jesus Christ says, “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” Revelation 16:15 Soon after the Battle of Armageddon, there comes the Day of the Lord and the return of Jesus Christ.

The place of Armageddon/Megiddo is seen in the pictures below. The picture to the left shows its height and the expansive plains below it. In the picture to the right, in the black square to the left, is where Armageddon/Megiddo is located. As you can see, it is in northern Israel, north of the West Bank (shown in the lined area) nearby the border of Lebanon. Around Lebanon is Syria and about 2300 miles north of that is Moscow, Russia.

God makes His Holy name known as Israel is prevented from profaning His name anymore. “So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel.” Ezekiel 39:7

This verse is mirrored from Ezekiel 38:23 “Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.”

The phrase, “I will not let them profane My holy name anymore.“, refers to the wrath of God being poured out upon Israel for profaning His Holy name. The Jewish people have profaned the name of God by rejecting Jesus Christ and claiming themselves to be His people. As quoted, “Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you.” Ezekiel 22:19-20 Also, it is written, “I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out.Ezekiel 20:34

We know the destruction of Israel happens in the eyes of the whole world during the Battle of Armageddon. We know this because God leads the global military against Israel, “…I will…lead you on, bringing you up from the far north, and bring you against the mountains of Israel. Then I will knock the bow out of your left hand, and cause the arrows to fall out of your right hand.” Ezekiel 39:2-3 After the destruction of Israel, then God renders the global military defenseless and brings their defeat with a huge slaughter.

After the Battle of Armageddon, when Israel and the global military are destroyed, then God says, “So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel.”

The Day of the Lord is surely coming as the word of God has spoken. “Surely it is coming, and it shall be done,” says the Lord God. “This is the day of which I have spoken.” Ezekiel 39:8

The Battle of Armageddon is coming, the destruction of Israel is coming, and the destruction of the world government and its global culture is coming. God speaks that word in the Sixth Plague of Revelation 16:12-17. We know that day is on the way because global warming is here and is instrumental in bringing the Battle of Armageddon. Global warming is the Fourth Plague of Revelation 16:8-9 and brings the destruction of the power center of the beast ( Fifth Plague of Revelation 16:10-11. ) This renders the world government and its global culture powerless. In that powerlessness, arises the Battle of Armageddon, then come the Day of the Lord and the return of Jesus Christ. The more powerful the United Nations becomes as the one world government the more intense the heat of global warming becomes.

When the power center of the beast is destroyed, the world government is rendered powerless because there will be no more uncanny knowledge, heightened intuition, amazing physical ability, extraordinary talents and skills, uncanny authority, etc. The entity that gives people what to think, feel, do, and say will be powerless to enable the image of the beast to live and speak through people. The mark of the beast will be powerless to hold people to a specific place in in life. Their global military will be defeated.

Weapons are burned for “seven years” and bodies buried for “seven months” of the global military.
Inhabitants of Israel destroy weapons of war and makes fire with them for “seven years”. “Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and bucklers, the bows and arrows, the javelins and spears; and they will make fires with them for seven years.” Ezekiel 39:9

This verse is basically describing the “day after”, the day after the Battle of Armageddon.

The phrase, “those who dwell in the cities of Israel” refers to the remnant, or survivors, remaining alive after the Battle of Armageddon. There will be some time remaining between the events of the Sixth Trumpet and Sixth Plague and the destruction of the earth (Seventh Plague of Revelation 16:17-21) and the return of Jesus Christ (Seventh Trumpet of Revelation 11:15-19). In fact, between the Sixth Trumpet and Seventh Trumpet, and between the Sixth Plague and Seventh Plague, the faithful witnesses who hold to the testimony of Jesus Christ are slaughtered and left in the streets to die. No doubt, this happens during the slaughter mentioned in the Sixth Trumpet of Revelation 9:13-20, which coincides with the Battle of Armageddon in the Sixth Plague.

After the Battle of Armageddon, the remnant/survivors of Israel will go out and burn all the weapons that are left on the ground by the armies of the defeated and slaughtered global military. The number of weapons will be so many that fires will made from them for “seven years”. The world government and its global culture are completely defeated as their global military lay in ruins and its weapons are used to make fires by the survivors of Israel. The weapons could be used as firewood for whatever purposes needed, either for cooking, to create warmth, just to destroy them, etc., but the weapons used to make fire will last for “seven years”.

This is a great victory for the remnant of Israel as well as for everyone who holds to the testimony of Jesus Christ. “After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” Again they said, “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!” Revelation 19:1-3

Inhabitants of Israel will plunder and pillage those who plundered and pillaged them. “They will not take wood from the field nor cut down any from the forests, because they will make fires with the weapons; and they will plunder those who plundered them, and pillage those who pillaged them,” says the Lord God.” Ezekiel 39:10

In this scenario of the “day after”, the weapons being burned for “seven years” are not being burned all at once nor as quickly as possible, but as a substitute for firewood. A possible reason of why trees are not taken from the forests is that the land around Israel is devasted by brutal war. This is how this is described in the very First of the seven Trumpets, in the scope of the whole world, “The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.” Revelation 8:7 Perhaps the trees are unfit for use for other reasons as well.

The remnant/survivors of Israel might take refuge in some type of shelter, with all the protective gear etc. But by the time the Sixth Trumpet sounds and the Sixth Plague is unleashed, who knows how advanced survival technology and weaponry will be?

The remnant/survivors of Israel will plunder and pillage whatever is left of those who pillaged and plundered them. In this scenario of the “day after”, the effort to survive would be very brutal, especially between countries that have been vicious enemies. God grants Israel their final victory on this earth, their final effort for survival, by allowing them to plunder and pillage the resources of those who did the same to them before the battle of Armageddon. As a reminder, there is going to be a brief time remaining on this earth between the Sixth Plague of Armageddon and the Seventh Plague/Seventh Trumpet when Jesus Christ returns. This is a window where the “day after” the Battle of Armageddon is seen.

We who live for Jesus Christ has the final victory over this world,

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, stand in his strength alone;
the arm of flesh will fail you, ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the gospel armor, each piece put on with prayer;
where duty calls or danger, be never wanting there.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, the strife will not be long;
this day the noise of battle, the next, the victor’s song.
To him that overcomes a crown of life shall be;
he with the King of glory shall reign eternally.

[Stand Up for Jesus, church song]

Global military is given a burial place east of the Jordan River. “It will come to pass in that day that I will give Gog a burial place there in Israel, the valley of those who pass by east of the sea; and it will obstruct travelers, because there they will bury Gog and all his multitude. Therefore they will call it the Valley of Hamon Gog.” Ezekiel 39:11

“Gog” is the name given to the leader of the global army that comes against Israel to destroy her, then “Gog” and his armies are destroyed after that. A burial place will be given for “Gog” and his multitudes, and the bodies are so many that it obstructs travelers from passing through. In this scenario of the “day after”, we can envision travelers going from place to place looking for places in which they can survive. When they come across the valley filled with dead bodies, those bodies are so many that they obstruct anyone trying to pass through.

“So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs.” Revelation 14:19-20

The location of the burial place of “Gog” and his multitudes is seen on the map below. This place is referred to as being “east of the sea” and called “the Valley of Hamon Gog.” This is known as the place east of the Jordan River and between the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea/Salt Sea. The Jordan River connects the two seas. It’s important to note that the promised land is west of the Jordan River, so the burial place of the global armies is outside the “city” of the promised land.

When the world government, its global culture, and its military is defeated [“Gog” and his multitudes], they will have a burial place outside the eternal promised land of the New Jerusalem. They will be buried east of the Jordan River in a valley between the “Dead Sea/Salt Sea” and the “Sea of Galilee”, which is eternal hell. Everyone who holds to the testimony of Jesus Christ will remain west of the Jordan, in the eternal promised land of the New Jerusalem.

The world government, its global culture, and its military are those who live by the entity giving them what to think, feel, do, and say. This entity enables the image of the beast to speak and live through them. They do not believe God, scoff at the need for the forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ and oppress the presence of the Holy Spirit. They are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they are given to say and do. God separates them from those of us who live for Him through Jesus Christ. Believers will be the wheat gathered to the west side of the river into eternal life, and the unbelievers will be gathered to the east side of the river and burned up like chaff.

As Jesus Christ said, “Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’” Matthew 13:30

Israel buries the bodies of the global military for “seven months”. “For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order to cleanse the land. Indeed all the people of the land will be burying, and they will gain renown for it on the day that I am glorified,” says the Lord God.” Ezekiel 39:12-13

For “seven months, the remnants/survivors of Israel will be burying the bodies of the multitudes of the global military. In verse 9, for “seven years” those of Israel will be using the weapons of the defeated global military to build fires instead of using trees as firewood. In order to cleanse Israel, which is on the west side of the Jordan river, its necessary to rid the land of all the slain bodies. Those bodies are transferred to their burial place on the east side of the Jordan river. Israel will be heard about all through the land during the “day after” for the massive numbers of bodies that they bury.

In that day, God is glorified, which is the “day after”, which is the day after the Battle of Armageddon. God is glorified because He has poured out His fury on Israel for their rejection of Jesus Christ, as quoted, “Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you.” Ezekiel 22:19-20

God is also glorified on the “day after” because this is His victory over the spiritual corruption of this present world system. The “day after” marks the end of the world government and its global culture that rejected Jesus Christ to live by the entity giving them what to think, feel, say, and do. As quoted, “Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.” Revelation 19:17-18

On the Day of the Lord, this land called earth is going to be cleansed of the massive numbers of people that are dead to God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. God will be glorified as Jesus Christ returns as the King of kings and Lord of lords. “Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!…The nations were  angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, and those who fear Your name, small and great, and should destroy those who destroy the earth.” Revelation 11:15, 18

Israel will establish a search party at the end of “seven months” to find bodies and bury them.  “They will set apart men regularly employed, with the help of a search party, to pass through the land and bury those bodies remaining on the ground, in order to cleanse it. At the end of seven months they will make a search. The search party will pass through the land; and when anyone sees a man’s bone, he shall set up a marker by it, till the buriers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon Gog.” Ezekiel 39:14-15

The task of burying the bodies slain of the global armies will require that men work regularly to complete the job. After “seven months” of burying the majority of the bodies, a search party will go through the land of Israel and place a marker by the bones that are found. Then the buriers will collect those bones and carry them to the burial place on the east side of the Jordan river. This is the “day after” the Battle of Armageddon.

Name of the city of the global army’s dead means “Multitude” or “Horde”. “The name of the city will also be Hamonah. Thus they shall cleanse the land.”’ Ezekiel 39:16

The name of the city where the bodies are buried is Hamonah, which means multitude or horde. That is the city where the multitude and horde of the global armies are buried. That city is on the east side of the Jordan river in the Valley of Hamon Gog. By doing that, the land of Israel will be cleansed of the bodies of their attackers.

The name of this “city” that we live in is called planet earth. On the Day of the Lord, there will be utter destruction of this planet that leaves a multitude and a horde of slain bodies. These are those who blaspheme the name of God, scoff at the need for the forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ and oppress the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ returns for those who believe in Him, are reconciled to God, and embrace the presence of the Holy Spirit. This is how God cleanses the land, the land we call earth.

“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:” Matthew 25:31-34

Birds and beasts feed on the slain that are prepared for them by the hand of God.
Birds and beasts are called to feast on the slain of the global armies. “And as for you, son of man, thus says the Lord God,  ‘Speak to every sort of bird and to every beast of the field: “Assemble yourselves and come; Gather together from all sides to My sacrificial meal which I am sacrificing for you, a great sacrificial meal on the mountains of Israel, that you may eat flesh and drink blood.” Ezekiel 39:17

This verse is referring to the “day after” the Battle of Armageddon when the slain bodies are massive. The beasts of the field and the birds of the air will be feeding on those bodies. This is also stated in the following verse, “And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and the mighty, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, great and small.” Revelation 19:17-18 This slaughter is just before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ when He returns as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Birds and beasts feed on the slain of the most noble of the global armies. “You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams and lambs, of goats and bulls, all of them fatlings of Bashan.” Ezekiel 39:18

The very elite of the world government and its global culture will be among the slain whose bodies are left for the beasts of the field and the birds of the air. There is no distinction made between those who live for the entity governing through what they say, think, do, and say. They have all chosen to live for Satan in their blaspheme against God, their mockery of the need for forgiveness through Jesus Christ, and their oppression of the Holy Spirit. They willingly welcome the atheistic entity to give life to the image of the beast to speak and live through them. They choose to be groomed to the mark of the beast by what they are given to say and do.

In the same way that no distinction is made between those who blaspheme God, reject Jesus Christ, and oppress the Holy Spirit, there is no distinction made between those who believe God, acknowledge the need for Jesus Christ, and embrace the presence of the Holy Spirit. We will all inherit eternal life. “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:26-29

Birds and beasts feed on the slain till they are filled according to the will of God. “You shall eat fat till you are full, and drink blood till you are drunk, at My sacrificial meal which I am sacrificing for you.” Ezekiel 39:19

In the “day after” the Battle of Armageddon, there will be so many bodies of the masses of the global culture that the birds of the air and the beasts of the field will feed until they are full. The Lord considers the bodies who lived for the system of the beast to be a sacrificial meal for the birds and the beasts, prepared by Him.

Birds and beasts feed on the slain of the lowest ranking and all the people of war. “You shall be filled at My table with horses and riders, with mighty men and with all the men of war,” says the Lord God.” Ezekiel 39:20

The horses, riders, mighty men, and all the men of war refer to the global military of the world government. On the “day after” the Battle of Armageddon, their bodies will lay all over the land. The birds of the air and the beasts of the field will feed and be filled with their carcasses. The Lord sets His table for the birds and the beasts whose food consist of those of the military of the global government.

For we who believe the testimony of Jesus Christ, God will prepare a table for us in the presence of Jesus Christ in the New Jerusalem of the new heaven and earth, “Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” Revelation 19:9

Nations will see that Israel was given to her enemies due to rejecting Jesus Christ.
Nations will see the judgment of God executed against the global armies. “I will set My glory among the nations; all the nations shall see My judgment which I have executed, and My hand which I have laid on them.” Ezekiel 39:21

For God to set His glory among the nations is to set His Holiness among the nations. His Holiness has no part with sin of any type. When Jesus Christ became sin for us on the Cross, God stepped aside to let it be, and Jesus cried out, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?… And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.” Matthew 27:46, 50 That was the price paid for our sin to be crucified on the Cross, and Jesus Christ was and is the mediator between us and God. When God sees Jesus in us, He looks past our sin and sees the Holiness of His Son who paid the price for our sin. After sin was crucified on the Cross, God raised Jesus from the dead after laying in the grave for three days. He now lives eternally with God in Heaven, and because He lives, we live also.

If God pulled away from His only Son, when He was hanging on the Cross, as He became sin to atone for our sin, then how much more will this sin-plagued world suffer the wrath of His Holiness. The glory of God’s Holiness will be seen on the “day after” the Battle of Armageddon and will be seen among all the nations. The glory of His Holiness will be seen in the destruction of Israel, which He promises will happen due to their rejection of Jesus Christ. The glory of God’s Holiness will be seen in the destruction of this present world system, which He promises for their serving the entity that sets itself up as God within people by giving people what to think, feel, do, and say.

“Therefore wait for Me,” says the Lord, “Until the day I rise up for plunder; My determination is to gather the nations to My assembly of kingdoms, to pour on them My indignation, all My fierce anger; All the earth shall be devoured with the fire of My jealousy.” Zephaniah 3:8

We all have inherited sin within our nature, so how will anyone survive the wrath of God’s Holiness? When God sees Jesus Christ in us, He sees His Holiness, and in Jesus Christ we are justified by His righteousness. “…who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.” 1 Peter 2:24 God treats us much better than we deserve, and because of Christ Jesus, He freely accepts us and sets us free from our sins. God sent Christ to be our sacrifice. Christ offered His life’s blood, so by faith in Him we could come to God. Romans 3:24-26

“He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 Jesus Christ came to do the will of God, which is to sanctify us and make us Holy in the eyes of God, “By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” Hebrews 10:10

Isarel will know that God is the Lord from that day forward. “So the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God from that day forward.” Ezekiel 39:22

The phrase, “from that day forward”, is from the “day after” the Battle of Armageddon, and those still alive of the house of Israel are the remnant/survivors. They will know that they are not anything without God, whose will for them is to acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Messiah and to receive the Holy Spirit.

Even today, the Jewish people should be aware of all the prophecies of the Bible being fulfilled about them, such as regathering them to the State of Israel in 1948. They should be praising God through Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, they close their eyes and ears to the prophecies that speak about the wrath of God’s fury coming against them for rejecting Jesus Christ. Even so, in the “day after”, they will know that the Lord is their God, who includes Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The truth of God’s word, all of the prophecies, and God’s fury will be spent on them, and the world, in that day. From that day forward, the remnant/survivors of Israel will know that He is the Lord their God.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we rejoice for the coming of the Day of the Lord, and we know that He is the Lord our God, with Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, the three of the Trinity.

Gentiles will see that Israel was given to her enemies for unfaithfulness to God. “The Gentiles shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity; because they were unfaithful to Me, therefore I hid My face from them. I gave them into the hand of their enemies, and they all fell by the sword.” Ezekiel 39:23

The Gentiles includes everyone who do not believe in God, do not acknowledge Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin, and do not walk in the Holy Spirit. Today, that includes the world government and its global culture who live by the entity giving them what to feel, think, say, and do. This entity enables the image of the beast to speak and live through them as they are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they are given to say and do, “All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Revelation 13:8 The “him” in this verse is the beast of the image and mark of the beast.

God gives Israel into the hands of their enemies, and their destruction comes through the world government and its global culture in the Battle of Armageddon. The “Gentiles” will know that Israel went into captivity for their sin of turning from God who requires the Jewish people to receive Jesus Christ. The Jewish people went into captivity when they were gathered into the State of Israel in 1948, and from that day God began to unleash His fury on them. Israel has been in 18 wars since the year they were brought to Israel, and even a war in 1948, Click for a list of those wars and scroll close to the bottom of the page.

God hid His face from Israel in the same way that in His Holiness He turns away from sin. When the Jewish people rejected Jesus Christ, they rejected the only One who can make them righteous and Holy in the eyes of God. Every person on this earth are sinners, unable to come into the favor of God’s presence, except with Jesus Christ living in us. When God sees the blood of Jesus applied to our heart, there is forgiveness and God deems us to be righteous.

When God hides His face from Israel, that means the fury of His Holiness is coming against their sin, as quoted, “Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you.” Ezekiel 22:19-20

When the Jewish people rejected Jesus Christ 2000 years ago, they exalted their Jewish culture above Jesus Christ. Because of that, God gathered them to their very own Jewish nation in 1948, called the State of Israel. Since then, they have suffered constant war and conflict, international condemnation, and global riots and protests against their existence. Things become even worse for Israel, as seen in this chapter relating to the Battle of Armageddon and the “day after”. If the Jewish people had accepted Jesus Christ as their Messiah, the State of Israel would never have existed because they would be Christian. As Christians we do not have a nation on this earth to call our own, our nation is the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and earth.

As Jesus Christ says, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

According to Israel’s uncleanness and transgressions God dealt with them. “According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions I have dealt with them, and hidden My face from them.”’ Ezekiel 39:24

God deals with the Jewish people and the rest of the world according to our sin. “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:11-13

Because we are all sinners, including the Jewish people, we fall short of the glory of God. We fall so far short that that the only option for the Holiness of God is to destroy sin, as without Him humanity plunges into destruction. Because God loves us and seeks our redemption, He sent His Son Jesus Christ so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. When God sees Jesus Christ in us, He sees His Holiness and considers us righteous for His sake. God deals with us according to our sin, we can reject Jesus Christ and suffer the consequences of sin, or we can receive Jesus Christ and receive the gift of eternal life, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

When God hides His face from us, it’s because Jesus Christ is not a part of who we are, and the only thing showing in our spirit and soul is the sin that we have inherited. That spiritual corruption leads to the Battle of Armageddon, the destruction of Israel, and the destruction of this present heaven and earth.

God brought the captives of Jacob and the whole house of Israel into their own land.
Captives of Jacob are returned to their own land in the mercy of God and He is jealous for His Holy name. “Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Now I will bring back the captives of Jacob, and have mercy on the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for My holy name— ” Ezekiel 39:25

As followers of Jesus Christ, to be brought back from captivity refers to being brought out of captivity to sin and being freed by believing in Jesus Christ. This is referred to as Christ leading captivity captive, which means to make our captivity to sin captive to Jesus Christ. “But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore He says:“ When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.” Ephesians 4:7-8

When I walked into a humane society, I saw all the different cats and dogs held in captivity and waiting for adoption, or something worse. When an animal is adopted, it’s captivity is led captive. The animal goes from captivity of the cage to being a captive of the new owner that is driving it to a new home of freedom. The new owner is leading captivity captive as they ascend into their new home together. Many gifts are showered onto the new pet at that time. Jesus Christ has adopted us, led captivity captive, and showers us with gifts as He leads us to our new eternal home in the New Jerusalem.

The verse of Ezekiel 39:25 is in context to after the Battle of Armageddon, after the destruction of Israel, the destruction of the world government, its global culture and its military. We know there are no promises of mercy for the Jewish people in the New Testament, unless they acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Messiah, “See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’” Matthew 23:38-39

Explaining who Jacob is helps this whole verse come to life. Without Jacob, there would be no Israelites, none of the Twelve Tribes of Israel would have existed, and Jesus Christ would never have been born. Jesus is from the Tribe of Judah. The Twelve Tribes of Israel are named after the twelve sons of Jacob, they were the original twelve. Jacob’s name was changed to Israel as described in Genesis 32:24-28. One could call the twelve tribes the Twelve Tribes of Jacob, but since his name change, they are known as the Twelve Tribes of Israel.

There is something else very important about Jacob. He was the son of Isaac, and Isaac was the only blood-borne son of Abraham. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are part of the “scarlet cord” that points to Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Savior of the world. Abraham represents God the Father, Isaac represents His only Son Jesus Christ, and Jacob represents the birth of Christianity. “And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:29 “For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.” That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.” Romans 9:6-8

As described in the post on the resurrection of dry bones in Ezekiel 37, the whole house of Israel includes those who come to God through Jesus Christ to receive the Holy Spirit. Ezekiel 37:15-28 speaks specifically to that when speaking of the “two sticks” becoming one. The Apostle Paul also says, through the Holy Spirit, that the house of Israel is only one and includes those who belong to Christ, “Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ.” …And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:16, 2

For God to be jealous for His Holy name is to embrace everyone who believes in His Son Jesus Christ. God is Holy and cannot act on sin in a favorable way, His wrath comes against sin. Sin is disbelief in God, rejection of Jesus Christ, and oppression of the Holy Spirit. When He sees Jesus Christ in us, He sees Holiness and righteousness, and we are accepted by God. This was the case with Abraham who believed God when he was told [at the age of 75] that he would be a great nation whose descendants would possess the land [Genesis 12:1-9]. Twenty-five years later, when Abraham was 100, his wife, Sarah, became pregnant at the age of 90 with their child Isaac, Genesis 21:5. This belief was counted to Abraham as righteousness. “For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Romans 4:3

The story of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob begins in Genesis 21 and extends through Genesis 25 [birth of Jacob].

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13.

Captivity of Jacob is brought to their own land after their unfaithfulness to God. “…after they have borne their shame, and all their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, when they dwelt safely in their own land and no one made them afraid.” Ezekiel 39:26

We see a glimpse of when the Jewish people lived safely in their own land, and no one made them afraid. This glimpse is seen when they lived under the rule of the Roman Empire, just before the coming of Jesus Christ. However, this peace came at the expense of their faithfulness to God, as the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Scribes were corrupt and living to please the dictates of the Romans more than serving God and living by the Ten Commandments. In the eyes of God, and as our Lord Jesus Christ pointed out, the Jewish people lived in their shame and unfaithfulness. This is described in Matthew 23

Before the Roman general, Titus, destroyed the Jewish Temple in 70AD, about 37 years after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Jewish people even had their own temple, “freedom of worship”. When the Jewish people rejected Jesus as their Christ and Lord, and plotted to have Him crucified for causing “disturbances” and “uproars” among the multitudes, they bore their shame and unfaithfulness to God. They wanted to live in peace and be unafraid, even if it meant accusing their Messiah of blasphemy to appease the dictates of the Romans. They bore their shame and unfaithfulness to God when they dwelt safely and unafraid in their own land.

“Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and said, “What shall we do? For this Man works many signs. If we let Him alone like this, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and nation.” And one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all, nor do you consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation should perish.”…Then, from that day on, they plotted to put Him to death.” John 11:47-50, 53

For the followers of Jesus Christ, the phrase, “after they have borne their shame”, refers to life after living in the shame of sin. Unfaithfulness to God is to turn away from His will for us to acknowledge our need for Jesus Christ and to refuse to live in the Holy Spirit. This world makes people feel safe while living in sin and they comfort spiritual corruption to chase fear away.

We have all sinned and experienced the shame of being unfaithful to God by rejecting the forgiveness of sin and oppressing the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit speaks these words to us through the Apostle John, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:8-9

This sin-plagued world makes today’s culture feel comfortable in their sin. Human beings are comforted by building up their self-esteem, increasing their dignity, and making them feel safe and at peace as they are. This world system encourages people not to believe in God, not to see themselves as sinners in need of Jesus Christ, and not to look at the Holy Spirit as a necessary part of our spirit and soul. They serve the creature instead of the Creator. No one makes the masses of this world feel afraid in their sin but instead promises them safety in the land they live.

Humanism is the fig leaf worn by the entity giving people what to feel, think, say, and do. Humanism is “...an outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters. Humanist beliefs stress the potential value and goodness of human beings, emphasize common human needs, and seek solely rational ways of solving human problems.” By this fig leaf, the entity that gives people their thoughts and feeling enables the image of the beast to speak and live through them. The masses of today’s global culture are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they are given to say and do. As they feel safe and unafraid, they boast, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” Revelation 13:4 The beast in this verse is of the image and mark of the beast.

Captivity of Jacob is brought to their own land after being gathered from across the globe. “When I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and I am hallowed in them in the sight of many nations,” Ezekiel 39:27

The people of the nations around the world were a witness, and are still witnesses, to how God fulfilled His promise to bring the Jewish people back to Israel, which happened in 1948. This is a witness to the Holiness of God to fulfill His word, not a vindication to the profanity of the Jewish people, as quoted, “Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went.” Ezekiel 36:22

There are no blessings promised for Israel in the New Testament, unless they acknowledge Jesus Christ as their messiah. Once the Battle of Armageddon is over, and the Day of the Lord comes, and Jesus Christ returns, there are no promises of eternal life for the Jewish people. They will not be gathered out of the land of this sin-plagued world to be united in the New Jerusalem, and they will not be clothed with an eternal and sinless body. “See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’” Matthew 23:38-39

Those who will be gathered from the east to the west into the New Jerusalem, out of this sin-plagued land, are we who live for God through Jesus Christ and walk in the Holy Spirit. The “sons of the kingdom” are the Jewish people, and they will be cast out into outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. “And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 8:11-12

The Apostle Paul, through the Holy Spirit, makes it clear that only those who believe in Jesus Christ will be gathered from across the globe to be united eternally with Jesus Christ. The dead in Christ will rise first, then those of Christ’s who are alive will be caught up in the air to be with Jesus forever. This happens at the return of our Lord Jesus, “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

God is known as the one who sent them into captivity and also brought them to their own land. “Then shall they know that I am the Lord their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.” Ezekiel 39:28

The Lord gathered the Jewish people out of their captivity among the “heathen”, especially their captivity in Europe and within Nazi Germany during the Holocaust. In 1948, the larger half of the Jewish people gathered in the State of Israel to live among their own people, away from the “heathen”. The smaller half are in the United States. There is a very small percentage of Jewish people who live elsewhere around the world. In 1948, none of the Jewish people were left among the “heathen”, they had a choice of where they wanted to relocate.

There is no question that God caused the Jewish people to be led into captivity across the globe and He is the one to regather them to the State of Israel. Jesus Christ spoke of the destruction of Jerusalem and their temple, and it happened in 70 AD by the hand of the Roman general, Titus, [just 37 years after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ]“Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” Matthew 24:1-2

For 1848 years [from 70AD to 1948], the Jewish people were scattered away from the land of Israel and dispersed across the globe. God said He would regather them to Israel to unleash His judgment on them, and He did so in 1948. Today, Israel is under the judgment of God as they have been in 17 wars since being brought to the State of Israel, Click for a list of those wars and scroll close to the bottom of the page. The total destruction of Israel will happen during the Battle of Armageddon as described in this 39th chapter of Ezekiel. “Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you.” Ezekiel 22:19-20

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are grossly outnumbered by those who detest God, scoff at Jesus Christ, and oppress the presence of the Holy Spirit. In a sense, we are captives in this sin-plagued world, “It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Revelation 13:7-8 The “him” in this verse is the beast of the image and mark of the beast.

The good news is that we will be gathered to our own land, the New Jerusalem, as our Lord Jesus has said, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” John 14:1-4

God will have poured out His Spirit. “And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,’ says the Lord God.” Ezekiel 39:29

The Spirit of God is Holy, and when He pours out His Holy Spirit, the purpose is to destroy sin. When we receive Jesus Christ, God sees His sinless Son in us and our belief in Him is considered righteousness. God has mercy on us sinners only because He sees Christ Jesus in us. Our Lord Jesus pours out the Holy Spirit into our spirit and soul. In contrast, if Jesus Christ is not seen in us, then all that God sees is a rebellious heart filled with sin. In His Holiness, His Spirit is poured out in fury against sin, and sin results in great tribulation, destruction of the earth and those who live in it.  “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

In this chapter of Ezekiel, we see what happened in the “day afterthe Battle of Armageddon. God did not hide His Holy face from Israel, and He poured out His Hoiness on their sin of unbelief, unfaithfulness, and rejection of Jesus Christ. Destruction came to Israel, only a remnant was spared, then destruction came to the world government, its global culture, and its military. God promises to spend, or exhaust, His wrath upon Israel and this whole earth on the Day of the Lord, and He returns as King of kings and Lord of lords. Ezekiel 7 describes the wrath coming against Israel.

God pours out His Holy Spirit s the sanctifier and justifier of all who believe in His Son Jesus Christ, “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 The Holy Spirit in us is our guarantee of the inheritance of eternal life, “In (Jesus) you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
