Being Taken Notice Of

There is one quick way that I’ve learned to set myself apart in this world; relate to human sentiments and speak about the things of Jesus Christ. Those with extraordinary knowledge have no need for those things. I’m sure to them I’m unlearned and ignorant. In today’s world, it seems that anyone who chooses Jesus and feels common human decency are not “hip”. It is just about an affliction to be taken notice of as being with Jesus. Peter was murdered and John gave us the Revelation while living on the island of Patmos, “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13

I shared this “vision” that I had; “when it is laid down the substance stays within itself and when it is lifted up the substance spills out onto the scrolls.” It’s easily recognizable as having Christian connotations. Those with extraordinary knowledge rolls their eyes and don’t give it the time of day. Then I give the punch line, “it’s an ink pen”. They could almost smile at the ink pen remark, but don’t because of the Biblical connotations. The knowledge of Christ is enough for me, “Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:22-24
