“Stand now with your enchantments and the multitude of your sorceries, in which you have labored from your youth—Perhaps you will be able to profit, perhaps you will prevail.” Isaiah 47:12
The Babylonians were deeply rooted in magic, enchantments, and sorceries. However, when Babylon was conquered, all of those divinations were useless to either foretell it or prevent it. The children of the Babylonians were taught by their parents to live the life of enchantments and sorceries. The Spirit of the Lord, through Isaiah, mockingly says to them to stand by their enchantments and sorceries and “Perhaps you will be able to profit, perhaps you will prevail.”
I knew a girl who would speak about what was about to happen to somebody, like saying, “Watch, don’t bump your head!” as if she knew it was about to happen. Then the person would bump their head just seconds after that. She could also sense events before they happened, such as saying things like, “Answer the door!” before the doorbell rang or before anyone knocked. She pretentiously called herself a psychic to impress the gullible with her unnatural abilities. She was living by the power of darkness through the beast that gave her uncanny knowledge and heightened intuition. She is among those of this world that says, “I see!” or “I know!” and boasts in their attitude and behavior, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” Revelations 13:4
The beast has power over physiology to be able to give people what to say, feel, think, and do. What she didn’t know [or care about] was how destructive her enchantments and sorceries were to the hearts and souls of those who didn’t have a clue. What she didn’t know [or didn’t care about] is that she had turned away from the Living God, rejected Jesus Christ as the only Way, and was living against the presence of the Holy Spirit. What she didn’t know was that the beast she embraced, under the false claim of being a psychic, will come to its destruction and everyone who serves it.
Our Lord Jesus is the only Way, Truth, and the Life, and no enchantments nor sorceries can lead us to God. Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
Our Lord God warns us against enchantments and sorceries, and if a person persists in doing those things by living for the beast that gives them what to say, do, think, and feel, the Lord has a word for them. In a mocking way, He says to them about the wrath of His judgment to come upon them is, “Go ahead and stand by that empowerment, perhaps you will profit and prevail in the day that your destruction comes.”
Today, children are being encouraged and taught to live by the presence that gives them what to feel, say, think, and do. They are being taught to embrace the image of the beast that is given breath/life to speak by speaking and living through them.
Throughout the Bible, our Lord speaks against sorceries, enchantments, fortune tellers, mediums, and those who do seances. Many of us may remember fortune-tellers, mediums, etc. that spoke with a low voice and whisper when speaking their word. That is the description that is given in the Bible thousands of years ago, “Your voice will be like a medium’s, out of the ground; And your speech will whisper out of the dust.” Isaiah 29:4
King Saul turned away from seeking answers through God and sought a medium to do a seance for him, as described in 1 Samuel 28. “So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he had committed against the Lord, because he did not keep the word of the Lord, and also because he consulted a medium for guidance.” 1 Chronicles 10:13
The Lord forbids the use of enchantments, sorceries, fortune-telling, and mediums because they turn people away from seeking answers from Him through Jesus Christ. In fact, that is an Old Testament law as described in Deuteronomy 18:10-14, and also “Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.” Leviticus 19:31
Even in the books of Acts, there were many sorcerers and diviners that were living against the way of Jesus Christ and made a mockery of the Holy Spirit. For example, Simon the sorcerer, who was encountered by Philip, as mentioned in Acts 8:9-13, the slave girl that had a spirit of divination whom Paul rebuked, as mentioned in Acts 16:16-18, and there were the magic books that were burned, as quoted, “Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.” Acts 19:19-20
The Spirit of the Lord speaks through Ezekiel against mediums as described in the post on Ezekiel 13.
“And when they say to you, “Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living? To the law and to the testimony! “You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels; Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, and the monthly prognosticators stand up and save you from what will come upon you.” Isaiah 47:13
Today, governments and people have a multitude of experts they consult for advice. They surround the presidents of every nation everywhere they go; they make up the countless experts sitting on countless committees; they sit in government offices within the multitude of councilmembers in every city nationwide; they attend countless “round table” meetings filled with specialized experts; they are the countless experts sitting in congresses of states, nations, and in the global assembly. This present global system has every counselor in the world available to them, and they close their ears to the One Counselor they need advice from the most, and His name is Jesus Christ, “And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah9:6
Today’s government, which includes nations around the world, are doing a lot of astrology and stargazing. The newest space telescope of NASA was launched August 30, 2026, and will orbit 930,000 miles from earth. It will map over one billion galaxies and survey more than 20 billion stars! That is a lot of astrology and stargazing. But God is not found from 930,000 miles away, He is found within our heart and soul through Jesus Christ, “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess “with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:8-9
The Lord gave Ezekiel a vision of the space satellites, space station, and space shuttle, as described in Ezekiel chapter 1. Further comments on that vision are made in the post on Ezekiel 10, with a chart of comparison near the bottom of the page.
There is an abundance of monthly prognosticators everywhere we look, and many of those prognostications relate to what is happening in the skies, in space, and beyond our galaxy. There are regular prognostications about the next asteroid or meteor that is approaching earth. There are regular prognostications from space satellites about the next storm to approach. There are regular prognostications about the next solar storm to hit to earth. And the big one of all, there are regular prognostications about the increasing severity of global warming. The Lord says to let those prognosticators stand up and save the planet and humanity from what will come upon them.
What is coming upon them? The one thing that all the world can see is global warming, and there is nothing that the multitude of experts, astrologers, and stargazers can do to stop it! It is such an issue for the prognosticators of this world government that it is written within the “Sustainable Development Goals” of the United Nations. Global warming is not going anywhere anytime soon! The more powerful the United Nations become as the undisputed one world government the more intense the effects of global warming/climate change become. Global warming is the Fourth Plague of Revelations 16:8-9. “Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.” Revelation 16:8-9
Global warming is instrumental in plunging the power center of the beast into darkness in the Fifth Plague of Revelations 16:10-11. When that happens, the government of the beast and its global culture will be powerless. No more uncanny knowledge, no more heightened intuition, no more uncanny authority over others etc. The beast will be powerless to give people what to say, do, think, and feel. In that loss of power comes the Battle of Armageddon in Revelations 16:12-16. The stargazers, astrologers, and monthly forecasters will be powerless to save humanity or the planet. “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.” Revelations 1:7 Christ Jesus returns in combination with the Seventh Plague of Revelations 16:12-17 and the Seventh Trumpet of Revelations 11:15-19. That is known as the Day of the Lord, which is described in Zachariah 14 and also Zephaniah chapters 1, 2, and 3.
“Behold, they will be as stubble, the fire will burn them; They will not deliver themselves from the power of the flame; It will not be a coal to be warmed by, nor a fire to sit before!” Isaiah 47:14
For all the astronomy, stargazing, and prognostication that the expert counselors of this present world system do, they are able to discern the skies but not able to discern the sign of the times. They see the solar flares, global warming, and the deterioration of the planet’s protective atmosphere, but they are not able to discern the sign of the times, as our Lord Jesus Christ says to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.” Matthew 16:2-3
The government of the beast and its global culture will be as stubble that the fire burns and will not be delivered from the power of the flame. The flame will not be used to be warmed by, nor for cooking, nor for roasting marshmallows at a campfire. The power of the flame is described directly below,
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be laid bare. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.” 2 Peter 3:10-13
“Thus will they be to you with whom you have labored, your merchants from your youth; They will wander each one to his quarter. No one will save you.” Isaiah 47:15
“Go big or go home” is like saying, “Make something happen or give up”. That is similar to what was being said when the Lord said, “They will wander each one to his quarter. No one will save you.” The Lord was speaking those words about the enchanters, sorcerers, astrologers, star watchers, and prognosticators who would not be able to do a thing against the “power of the flame” that He promised to send upon this world, as described in the section directly above. If they would not be able to go big and do something to remedy the judgment of God coming against them, then they need to go home. And indeed, each one will wander to his own quarter. “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” Revelations 7:10
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
The enchanters, sorcerers, astrologers, star watchers, and prognosticators of this present world system of the beast will be as the stubble that ignites the fire that will burn them. They are those with whom the global culture of today labors for with their faith being placed in science, for the salvation of the planet and humanity. The population of today’s world puts their faith in science where the creation is served but God the Creator is rejected. That humanistic teaching is the “merchants” of today’s culture, but Salvation only comes by belief in God the Creator, through Christ Jesus, in the presence of the Holy Spirit.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’
“I am coming soon.
Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.’”
