“To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him?” Isaiah 40:18

There is nothing created on this earth that can be compared to the likeness of God because He is Spirit. Christ Jesus is the image of the invisible God made flesh, “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.” Colossians 1:15 God can only be served in the spirit through Jesus Christ, God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24

“God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands…for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising.” Acts 17:24, 28-29

“The workman molds an image, the goldsmith overspreads it with gold, and the silversmith casts silver chains.” Isaiah 40:19

The world system of today serves something that they compare and liken to God. They serve the beast that speaks and lives through people by setting up a place within their thoughts, feelings, words, and behaviors. That beast sets itself up as God within the temple of God, our body, as if it is God. That beast is the one “…who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:4 Click for a post on that.

Satan works through the elements of this world and through the flesh. Satan and his beasts are the workman, goldsmith, and silversmith that molds an image, overspreads it with gold, and decorates it with silver chains. Today, Satan has devised a way to gain power over physiology to be able to give people what to say, do, think, and feel. He does that through his beast that gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people. The global culture is conformed to the number, name, mark of the beast by what they are given to say and do.

“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 Click for a post on the “Lawless one”.

“Whoever is too impoverished for such a contribution chooses a tree that will not rot; He seeks for himself a skillful workman to prepare a carved image that will not totter.” Isaiah 40:20

That refers to people being too poor to be able to make an image of gold and silver. Today, there are many people who cannot afford the cost of living for the power of darkness through the beast that gives them what to say and do. It takes a toll on family relations, friendships, emotionally taxing. The tree that they should choose is the Cross where Jesus Christ died to atone for sin. That is a tree that will never rot because the Gospel of Jesus Christ is eternal and through Him, we have eternal life.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where people are too impoverished spiritually with not a thought for God, Christ Jesus, nor the Holy Spirit. They choose a “tree that will not rot” in the sense that they are spiritually like petrified wood. They “…seek a skilled workman to prepare for them a carved image that will not totter”. They choose to serve the image of the beast that speaks and lives through them, believing they have found an “image that will not totter” as they boast in their attitude and behavior, “Who is like the beast? Who can make war with him?” Revelations 13:4

They have a form of Godliness but deny the power of the Gospel of Christ, “…having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” 2 Timothy 3:5

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
, 3:1
