King of Babylon sends a gift to Hezekiah that results in the captivity of future generations.

• Flattery from the king of Babylon causes Hezekiah to err.
• Isaiah discovers that Hezekiah revealed all the treasures of his country to the king of Babylon.
• Isaiah reveals that Hezekiah’s descendants, and all the treasures, would be taken into captivity in Babylon.
• Hezekiah accepts the prophecy from Isaiah and says, “At least there will be peace and truth in my days.”

Flattery from the king of Babylon causes Hezekiah to err.

“At that time Merodach-Baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah, for he heard that he had been sick and had recovered. And Hezekiah was pleased with them, and showed them the house of his treasures—the silver and gold, the spices and precious ointment, and all his armory—all that was found among his treasures. There was nothing in his house or in all his dominion that Hezekiah did not show them.” Isaiah 39:1-2

“At that time” refers to when Hezekiah was healed of his terminal sickness. The testimony that Hezekiah gave about his healing is recorded in the post on Isaiah 38:9-22. Merodach-Baladan ruled over Babylon about 117 years before Nebuchadnezzar, the same Nebuchadnezzar mentioned in chapters 1 through 4 of the Book of Daniel. Merodach-Baladan set a letter and present to Hezekiah to express his flatteries towards Hezekiah’s recovery.

Hezekiah swallowed the flattery of Merodach-Baladan “hook line and sinker” and showed his messengers the house of his treasures…everything including all of the collection of weapons, armor, military equipment etc. that were the nation’s war gear and armaments. In other words, Hezekiah showed the messengers of the king of Babylon the kingdom’s entire economic wealth, military capability, and everything else under his dominion. Big mistake! As is stated in verses 6 and 7 of this post.

The word of God warns us against being seduced by flattery and smooth words, “It is not good to eat much honey; So to seek one’s own glory is not glory...by covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words…do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces...beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ...for those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.” Proverbs 25:27, 2 Peter 2:3, Matthew 7:6, Colossians 2:8, Romans 16:18

Our Lord Jesus was betrayed by a kiss, “But Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?” Luke 22:48

In Revelations, Babylon is clearly represented as the global government of the beast, as outlined in the post on Isaiah 21:1-2. Today, the global government operates from the United Nations and requires the member nations to contribute a calculated amount of money based on each country’s economic wealth. In other words, the house of treasures of each country has been shown to the United Nations. Also, as we see through news and social media, the United Nations has an inside track to each country’s military capability, especially when it comes to nuclear weapons. They conduct routine inspections of nuclear sites to ensure no nuclear weapons are being built. Many conversations are held between member countries of the United Nations concerning weaponizing space as well. In other words, the armory of countries around the world is visible through the eyes of the government of the beast. Big mistake! As we will see in verses 6 and 7 of this post.

The United Nations brought the government of the beast with it as described in Daniel 8:1-14 and also Revelations 17.

On the image below, we can see the contributions made to the United Nations from each country [not updated from a couple of years ago], which goes in a big way to fund the “Sustainable Development Goals” of the United Nations.

Isaiah discovers that Hezekiah revealed all the treasures of his country to the king of Babylon.

“Then Isaiah the prophet went to King Hezekiah, and said to him, “What did these men say, and from where did they come to you?” So Hezekiah said, “They came to me from a far country, from Babylon.” And he said, “What have they seen in your house?” So Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house; there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.” Isaiah 39:3-4

The question the word of God asks the leaders of cities, states, nations, and the world is this, “What did they say, and from where did they come to you?” Are the politicians able to answer what the beast is saying to them? Are they able to answer where the beast is from? They are not because they are living in darkness and not able to bring to light that they are living by the power of darkness through the beast that gives them what to say, do, think, and feel. They are not able to say where the beast is from because all they know is that the beast is on every continent of the planet and driving towards creating the global government and culture of the beast.

City, state, national, and global leaders are not able to say what they have shown to the beast. They have opened their “house” to reveal the culture, heritage, finances, wealth of natural resources, and all their national treasures on behalf of creating a one world government. They are giving up national heritage to form a global culture. They are giving up national wealth to create a global economy. They are giving up national military power to refrain from rebellion against the global agenda. National leaders are giving up cultural treasures to surrender to the government of the beast.

“For what will it profit a man, if he will gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore will be ashamed of Me and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also will the Son of man be ashamed, when He cometh in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” Mark 8:36-38

Although city, state, national, and global leaders cannot share any information on the beast they serve, the word of God can. Through Hezekiah, the Spirit of the Lord reveals to us the answer. The beast comes from “Babylon”, which represents the global government of the beast. The government of the beast has seen all of the national treasures of every country around the world. All of what was said above is described in verses 1 and 2 above.

Isaiah reveals that Hezekiah’s descendants, and all the treasures, would be taken into captivity in Babylon.

“Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of the Lord of hosts: ‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and what your fathers have accumulated until this day, will be carried to Babylon; nothing will be left,’ says the Lord. ‘And they will take away some of your sons who will descend from you, whom you will beget; and they will be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’ ” Isaiah 39:6-7

The prophecy of Isaiah about the descendants of Hezekiah, the Israelites of the tribe of Judah, being taken into captivity to Babylon came to pass 110 to 150 years after he spoke it. The treasures of the kingdom of Judah were also taken to Babylon. That is when the book of Daniel begins, as described in Daniel 1:1-7. Daniel was from the tribe of Judah.

Because national politicians have chosen to open their national treasures to the global government of the beast, everything accumulated within those nations are carried into the treasury of the global government of the beast. The accumulations of each nation will become the resources to fuel the global economy, to fuel the global military, and to fuel the creation of the global culture. Nothing will be left of the identity of any national culture because it will be swallowed up in the global identity. It is a global culture that is defined by the beast that unites people in every city around the world by what they are given to say, do, think, and feel. The global population has been taken away from their national heritage to serve in the “palace” of the “king” of the government of the beast.

Hezekiah accepts the prophecy from Isaiah and says, “At least there will be peace and truth in my days.”

“So Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The word of the Lord which you have spoken is good!” For he said, “At least there will be peace and truth in my days.” Isaiah 39:8

Hezekiah made mistakes in his effort to follow the word of God, but the desire of his heart was to restore worship of the Living God to the Israelites of his kingdom, the kingdom of Judah. He wanted the people to live by the Ten Commandments, to honor the animal sacrifices to atone for sin, and to live by the word of God. He even consulted the Lord, through Isaiah, to determine what he should do in the face of the threats of Sennacherib, the king of Assyria. When he showed the king of Babylon all of the treasures of his kingdom, that was a mistake. He did not react with hostility towards Isaiah, who brought to light his mistakes through the word of God, but rather Hezekiah said, “At least there will be peace and truth in my days.” And there was peace and truth during his remaining 15 years or less days. The Lord extended Hezekiah’s life for 15 years, after being healed of a terminal sickness, as described in the post on Isaiah 38:1-8.

Some people might admit that the prophecies of the Bible are true, but they are not concerned about what happens tomorrow because it doesn’t affect them today. In other words, they are not allowing Christ Jesus to live through them, through the Holy Spirit, Who says, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17

Today, city, state, national, and global politicians overlook that they have done something that will affect future generations, and especially the followers of Jesus Christ. They pay more attention to what people think of them and within the hiding of their soul they selfishly and deceitfully say, “At least there will be peace and “truth” in my days.” They do not let their true intentions come to light as they hide in the darkness the truth that they are betraying future generations by giving them over to the beast that governs by giving people what to say, do, think, and feel. They know they are betraying the way of Christ with a kiss, to be crucified by the culture of the beast, but their cold-hearted and deceitful response is, “At least there will be peace and “truth” in my days.”

Matthew 23 describes the politicians of today.

“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in...Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.” Matthew 23:13, 15
