The sun, fire, cloud and rainbow.
“I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. He had a little book open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land,” Revelation 10:1-2
The Apostle John had just received revelations concerning the events of the first six of the Seven Trumpets, as described in Revelations chapters 8 and 9. Another mighty angel comes to John from Heaven, which is delivering a message from the Lord relating to what happens in the remaining part of the events of the sixth trumpet through the seventh trumpet [Revelations 11:15-19], when our lord Jesus Christ returns. The angel is clothed with a cloud.
In coming verses, we know the angel is bringing a message of judgment to this earth, a message of Seven Thunders with a roar like a lion, to bring a finish to this present heaven and earth, as quoted, “The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer, but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.” Revelations 10:5-7
The vision that John saw reveals a face like the sun and feet like pillars of fire, one foot being on the sea and the other foot on the earth. We know fire is very hot, and heat scorches the oceans and the earth. Today, global warming is a concern for everyone around the world, which is already affecting the earth and making chaos of the climate. The oceans are also heating up to levels threatening the survival of humanity. Even with all of the signs given for the whole world to see, the global population still refuses to come to God through Jesus Christ, “Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.” Revelations 16:8-9
“[Jesus] answered and said t “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.” Matthew 16:2-3
Our Lord Jesus is the Sun of Righteousness, “But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness will arise with healing in His wings…” Malachi 4:2 The end of this present heaven and earth is the healing of all who live for God through Jesus Christ because that is the time of our eternal redemption. The Lord destroys the lawless one with the brightness of His coming, “And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.” 2 Thessalonians 2:8 Click for the post on the “lawless one”.
There is good news for those of us who live for the testimony of Jesus Christ and everyone who wants to come to God through Jesus. The angel is clothed with a cloud and a rainbow on his head. That signifies hope, as a rainbow in the cloud is a reminder of the covenant God made with us through Jesus Christ. That covenant is this, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
“And God said: This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it will be for the sign of the covenant...” Genesis 9:12-14
Below is a picture posted on May 27, 2026, from Scioto Post [local news broadcaster]. It is the same sky over Circleville, where I live, at the same time and same day [early in the evening]. The rainbow is in one direction of the sky, towards the east and away from the sunset. The fiery orange is towards the west side, where the sun is beginning to set. Now, when I see a rainbow in the sky, and thinking of global warming, I quote within myself the covenant God made with us through Jesus the Christ, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 The rainbow is the sign of the covenant God made with us.

Seven Thunders are sealed up and not meant to be revealed.
“…and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. When he cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices. Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them.” Revelation 10:3-4
The angel cried out like a lion’s roar and the seven thunders uttered their voices. I know our Lord Jesus is called the Lion of Judah, as quoted, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” Revelations 5:5 The angel is a messenger of the Trinity of God, which includes God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The voice of the angel is the voice of the Trinity, and this is quoted about when the Lion roars, “As a lion roars, and a young lion over his prey…So the Lord of hosts will come down to fight for Mount Zion and for its hill.” Isaiah 31:4
In light of the above paragraph, we know the lion’s roar of the Seven Thunders is to bring the wrath of His judgment on this atheistic world that serves the beast. The global culture serves thee bast that has power over physiology to give them what to speak, do, think, and feel. They have made war against belief in God and Jesus Christ, and do not want the Holy Spirit to be part of who they are. The beast gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people. By what they are given to say and do, they are groomed to the mark, name, number of the beast. The Seven Thunders with the roar of the Lion is judgment directed towards them, the same as the events of the Seven Trumpets and Seven Plagues are directed towards them.
The message of the angel, regarding the Seven Thunders with the roar of the Lion, was to be sealed up, not to be written. The angel did not want the Apostle John to include those Seven Thunders into the book of the Revelation. However, from the next verse, we know it has to do with the end of this present heaven and earth.
We will never know with certainty what those Seven Thunders are because the Holy Spirit has sealed them up. That is reassuring for me because it lets me know that some things are not meant to be known. I won’t have to waste my time in fruitless debates, unresolvable contemplation, nor internet searches trying to find the answer. If I don’t know, so what, I don’t have to know. We must live for our Lord Jesus, day-by-day, whatever catastrophes come upon this world.
No more delay in bringing the Day of the Lord.
“The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven “and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer,” Revelation 10:5-6
Our Lord Jesus had His hand in creating all the world, “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” John 1:3 “The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the waters.” Psalms 24:1-2 Our Lord Jesus is the beginning of all creation and will exist at the end of all creation, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelations 1:8
“…but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.” Revelation 10:7
The angel of the Seven Thunders with the roar of the Lion swears that there will be no further delay in bringing the final destruction to this present heaven and earth. The Seven Thunders sound, with the roar of the Lion, after the Sixth Trumpet will have been opened, which happens in Revelations 9:13-21. Click for a post on the Sixth Trumpet. That refers to the global battle and is described as the Battle of Armageddon in Revelations 16:12-16. Our Lord Jesus returns when the Seventh Trumpet sounds of Revelations 11:15-19, and relates to the events of the Seventh Plague in Revelations 16:17-21. The Seven Thunders relate to the time of the Day of the Lord, as described in Zachariah 14.
As people serve the beast, and no longer function through the human conscience, the traits of psychopathy flood the world as people become egocentric to exalt themselves above God. They feel no remorse and no need for the remission of sin through Jesus Christ. They oppose, ridicule, and manipulate the presence of the Holy Spirit as they detest the life of Holiness. The world fills with anti-social activity, with no empathy for others within their superficial charm. This heaven and earth, and all the oceans, will be destroyed, and God is going to create a new heaven and earth where we will live eternally in the New Jerusalem.
The day we are all waiting for, which is spoken about through the Holy Bible, is the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. He came once two thousand years ago, and He is coming again when the Seventh Trumpet sounds (Seventh Angel), as quoted below, “Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, ‘The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever!’” Revelation 11:15
The “Little Book” is sweet in the mouth but bitter in the stomach.
“Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, “Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth.” Revelation 10:8
After the revelation of the Seven Thunders with the roar of the Lion, the Apostle John is instructed to take the Little Book, which is open in the hand of the angel. That Little Book is open, meaning it is to be read and revealed to everyone, as quoted, “And he said to me, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings.” Revelation 10:11 The prophecy of John is a global one, for people and nations on all seven continents. That prophecy would come after John ate the book, “So I went to the angel and said to him, “Give me the little book.” And he said to me, “Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.” Revelation 10:9 As followers of Jesus Christ, we understand how sweet the book of Revelations is to us, sweet like honey, but at the same time is bitter after digesting the meaning of all the tragedy upon this world, and coming to this world.
From this point on in the Apostle John’s revelation, he prophecies about what happens to the faithful witnesses of Revelations 11, the Seven Plagues, the Battle of Armageddon, the destruction of this present heaven and earth, and the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. That is described in Revelations 16 and also Revelations 11:15-19.
“Then I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter.” Revelation 10:10
Like the Apostle John, who took the book and ate it and digested it, we must also “eat” the book of Revelations, to read it and digest it to the point to where we understand it and feel the bitterness that befalls this world. The book of Revelations is to be read by every follower of Jesus Christ, and something those of the fallen churches of today should be reading, preaching, and teaching, as quoted, “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place… Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.” Revelations 1:1-3
We know the time is near because global warming is in the world and is the Fourth Plague of Revelations 16:8-9, “Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.”
As followers of Jesus Christ, we have the mission to prophesy according to the word of God. “The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” Revelation 19:10, which means if we want to share where the world is within prophecy all we need to do is share where Jesus Christ is within the world.
While we enjoy reading the Holy Bible, the message to today’s world is a bitter one. The masses of the world have rejected Jesus Christ, and their world is coming to a crashing halt. People in every city around the world has chosen to live for the beast which forms what they think, feel, do, and say. The beast gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people. By what they are given to say and do, they despise Christianity and are conformed to the mark, name, number of the beast.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
