Government of the beast will be forsaken like a forsaken bough and an uppermost branch.

“In that day his strong cities will be as a forsaken bough and an uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel; And there will be desolation.” Isaiah 17:9

“In that day” refers to the time around the Battle of Armageddon of Revelations 16:12-16, and the Day of the Lord, as described in Zachariah 14. That prophecy is revealed through the burden against Damascus, which is described in the entire chapter of Isaiah 17. The prophecy is against the global government of the beast and its global culture.

The global population of the beast will be forsaking the strong cities of the global government. “Strong cities” symbolize cities like the capital cities of states across the nation, across the the whole world, strong cities on the seven continents around the globe. Those strong cities represent the center of social and economic prosperity, and the place where governing authorities govern. Those cities will be forsaken by the population and be made desolate.

Why would the culture of the beast abandon the cities of social strength, economic prosperity, and governing power? Because the power center of the beast is plunged into darkness in the Fifth Plague of Revelations 16:10-11. The strength of the cities come through the beast that governs by giving people what to speak, do, think, and feel. When the power center of the beast collapses, the strength of the cities collapse. There will be lawlessness to unravel social cohesion, the economic system will collapse, and the government of the beast will be powerless. There will be no more empowerment from the beast that gives people success and strength to make the cities of the culture of the beast strong. There will be no more uncanny knowledge, nor heightened intuition, nor extraordinary skills and talents, nor amazing physical abilities, nor uncanny authority over others, nor fabricated emotional responses, etc. The Battle of Armageddon is the next major event to happen after that.

A bough is the main branch of a tree, and a forsaken bough is for that branch to be barren, useless, abandoned. The main bough of the government of the beast and its global culture is the power center of the beast that gives people what to speak, do, think, and feel, which is destroyed in the Fifth Plague. The global government will become like a forsaken bough of the uppermost branch.

What happens to the global government of the beast and its global culture is because of the children of Israel, “I will also gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people…” Joel 3:2 The Valley of Jehoshaphat means the “Valley of Judgment”, referring to the Battle of Armageddon.

“For thus says the Lord of hosts: “He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.” Zachariah 2:8

“For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed will be called.” That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed…Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham...And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Romans 9:6-8, Galatians 3:7, Galatians 3:29.
