“Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you!…and will deliver you.”

Isaiah 46:3-4

In the verses of this post, the Spirit of the Lord has something to say to we who live for Him through Jesus Christ and for earthly Israel.

“Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel…” Isaiah 46:3a

We who live for God by faith in Christ Jesus is Jacob, “This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face.” Psalms 24:6

There is also the earthly Israel who are the Jewish people descended from the Israelites according to flesh and blood origins. The Jewish people we see in the world today is what’s left of the original Israelites. They are the remnant of the house of Israel. The population of the Jewish people are almost equally divided between the living in the State of Israel and living in the United States of America. The slightly larger half lives in the State of Israel while the smaller half lives in the U.S.A. Even a smaller remnant, very few, live in other countries around the world.

As spoken about in verse 4 of this post, there is the remnant of Israel that will come to Jesus Christ after the Battle of Armageddon, and they will receive the Salvation of eternal life. Also, there will be a remnant of we who live for Jesus Christ that will exist on this earth when our Lord Jesus Christ returns. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and will not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5:24

“Who have been upheld by Me from birth, who have been carried from the womb…” Isaiah 46:3b

The Spirit of the Lord, through Ezekiel, describes the origins of the Israelites, from their birth all the way to where they are today, as described in the post on Ezekiel 16:1-22. That post describes Israel as being an unknown people, unwanted by the rest of the world, and tossed into an open field as a newborn baby with the umbilical cord still attached. Left to die. “And when I passed by you and saw you struggling in your own blood, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’ Yes, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’” Ezekiel 16:6 From there, the Lord raised up Israel to where they are today.

As followers of Jesus Christ, the Lord has also upholds us from birth. Our birth is our born-gain experience from the day we came to God through Jesus Christ to live for Him through the presence of the Holy Spirit. “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving…speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.” Colossians 2:6-7, Ephesians 4:15-16

How can we know if we have the Holy Spirit? If we do not speak against Christ Jesus and say that He is Lord then we have the Holy Spirit, “Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:3

“Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.” Isaiah 46:4

Our Lord Jesus says to us, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” Matthew 28:20

Even to the old age of the Jewish culture on this earth, even to their gray hairs, He will carry them. That means everything that is happening to the Jewish people on this earth today is by the hand of the Lord. The Lord God even gathered the Jewish people to Israel in 1948, as He said He would. That is also the place where the Lord unleashes the wrath of His judgment on them for rejecting Jesus as the Christ and His Son, as described in Ezekiel 22:19-21. The Lord will deliver a remnant of Israel, who acknowledge Jesus as the Christ, after the Battle of Armageddon, as described in the post on Ezekiel 39.

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you will see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ” Matthew 23:37-39

For us followers of Jesus Christ, He will be with believers even to the old age of the way of Christ, even to when the hairs grow gray on Christianity. He will carry us by the Holy Spirit, “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus… If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” Hebrews 6:19-20, John 14:15-18 He is returning to deliver us, “For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13

You might have noticed that the believing remnant of Israel and the remnant of the followers of Jesus Christ are delivered at the same time. Together, we are the elect gathered together at the coming of our Lord Jesus from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. That happens after the Battle of Armageddon of the Sixth Plague and after the global tribulation, as Jesus Christ says, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Matthew 24:29-31

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’
I am coming soon.

Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.’”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
