“Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” Isaiah 35:3-47

We are living in the days where people find it very difficult to stand for Jesus Christ and to work for His Gospel. The masses of the global culture lives for the power of darkness through the beast that gives them what to say, do, think, and feel. They are vehemently opposed to the light that comes by believing in God the Creator, opposed to those who acknowledge the need for the remission of sin through Christ Jesus, and opposed to a life lived in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we say to those of “weak hands” and “weak knees”, “Be strong, do not fear! ” When our Lord Jesus Christ came, the Spirit of His Father was on Him, and He did not quarrel in the streets, but came in a humble, meek, and gentle Spirit of peace. He brought calm and comforting reassurance to those with “weak hands” and “feeble knees”. He did not break a “bruised reed”. A bruised reed is similar to a bent over cattail in a pond. Where others might give up hope for a “bruised reed”, Jesus never caused the breakage of a spiritually bruised person. Jesus never snuffed out a “smoking flax”, which would be like a candle wick smoking but without fire. Our Lord Jesus will never do anything to snuff out a person whose fire of the Holy Spirit has become nothing more than smoke. “He will not quarrel nor cry out, nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets. A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench, till He sends forth justice to victory; And in His name Gentiles will trust.” Matthew 12:19-21 as quoted from Isaiah 42:1-4

Christ Jesus is returning with vengeance, with the recompense of God His Father, and He is coming to save us, to bring us home to be with Him eternally in the New Jerusalem. “For thus says the Lord of hosts: “He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye. For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they will become spoil for their servants. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me...And I heard the angel of the waters saying: “You are righteous, O Lord, the One who is and who was and who is to be, because You have judged these things. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due.” Zachariah 2:8-9, Revelations 16:5-6

“Behold, the Lord God will come with a strong hand, and His arm will rule for Him; Behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him. He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those who are with young.” Isaiah 40:10-11

“Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped. Then the lame will leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters will burst forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert. The parched ground will become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water; In the habitation of jackals, where each lay, there will be grass with reeds and rushes.” Isaiah 35:5-7

Belief in Jesus Christ is one and the same with the coming of eternal life. Eternal life does not begin after we die, eternal life begins the moment we believe in Him, as Jesus says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and will not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5:24 The Holy Spirit in us, given by our faith in Jesus, is the guarantee of our eternal inheritance, as quoted, “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14

How can we know if we have the Holy Spirit? If we do not speak against Jesus Christ and can say that He is Lord then we have the Holy Spirit, “Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:3

Christ Jesus was crucified on the Cross by those who were blind to the truth and living in the darkness of unbelief. Through the suffering He endured during His crucifixion, we see He withheld nothing, not even His own life, to bring the remission of sin to us. By His resurrection, after three days in the tomb, we see the power of eternal life that is found only in Him.

Jesus came to open the eyes of the blind and the ears of the deaf to see and hear concerning the power over sin and death within our own heart, mind, and soul. We are able to sing the song of Salvation, which is heard through our born-again experience, which is the Gospel of Christ written on our heart. Where we were once lame, unable to walk by the Spirit due to being crippled by the canal flesh, Jesus Christ has enabled us to leap like a deer in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

“Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” Luke 7:22-23

Waters will burst forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert, which is the fountain of living water, of the Holy Spirit, springing forth within us. Our Lord Jesus says, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive;” John 7:38-39

“And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.” Revelations 22:1 Christ Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the Life. He that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live;” John 11:25
