“Your eyes will see the King in His beauty; They will see the land that is very far off.” Isaiah 33:17
In the eternal New Jerusalem, we will see the Lord as He is, and we will be like Him, “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we will be, but we know that when He is revealed, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” 1 John 3:2-3
In the days of Isaiah, the eternal promised was very far off, about 4000 years before the birth of the Christ, whose name is Jesus. Over 2000 years has gone by since then and we are seeing the signs of His return, as seen through the appearance of global warming, which is the Fourth Plague of Revelations 16:8-9. There is a list of fulfilled prophecy, since the 1940s, that all the world is a witness to. Click here for a list of those prophecies and scroll to about the middle of the page. Also, Hebrews chapter 11 gives a list of those faithful to God, from the Old Testament, eagerly anticipating arriving to the promised land.
“Your heart will meditate on terror: “Where is the scribe? Where is he who weighs? Where is he who counts the towers?” Isaiah 33:18
That verse refers to remembering the terrors of the past, but that is spoken by the Spirit of God to point out that the old things will pass away, and all things will be made new, “Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There will be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”” Revelations 21:4-5
The Israelites were heavily oppressed by the scribes, and the scribes heavily oppressed the Jewish people when Jesus walked this earth in the flesh. The scribes were the lawyers of the laws of Judaism, and their word became more important than the word of God, as Jesus says, “For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.” Matthew 23:4 Today, the “lawyers” are those who live and govern for the beast and the only law that matters to them is what comes through the beast that gives them what to say, do, think, and feel. The way of Jesus Christ is oppressed by the culture of the beast. Those who live for the beast will not exist in the eternal New Jerusalem.
Thsoe who weigh refers to those who decided how much food, or other resources, that a buyer would receive according to the scales of the sellers. The scales were usually rigged to enrich the seller with more and left the buyer very little for the money they spent. Even today, we hear more and more about the scarcity of resources, and how the buyer receives less for the money they spend. That will be even more so when the digital currency is fully implemented. The United States of America has signed into law the “GENIUS Act” to make the U.S.A. the “Crypto capital of the world.” When the UN [United Nations] become the undisputed one world government, the scarce distribution of resources will be common practice. When we arrive to the eternal New Jerusalem, there will be no scales, no economy, but the Tree of Life will blossom freely in every month for all who live there.
Towers were places where guards stood to watch over a city. Those who counted towers were responsible for ensuring that there were always enough towers to watch over a growing city and to always keep those security centers in good repair. Today, that security tower is the power center of the beast that gives people what to say, do, think, and feel. That power center will not exist in the eternal New Jerusalem because it is destroyed in the Fifth Plague of Revelations 16:10-11. There is also a massive amount of artificial intelligence to watch over the world population, and television is a prime example of that, and there is one in every home around the world. That will not exist in the New Jerusalem.
“You will not see a fierce people, a people of obscure speech, beyond perception, of a stammering tongue that you cannot understand.” Isaiah 33:19
We will not see a fierce people in the New Jerusalem, because the Lamb is the Light, “The Lamb is its light.” Revelations 21:23 We are the sheep who hear His voice.
The fierce people are the global population that lives for the beast that gives them what to say, do, think, and feel. They are fierce against the way of Jesus Christ in their opposition to belief in God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the presence of the Holy Spirit. They are a people of obscure speech and a stammering tongue that we do not understand. Their speech is beyond human perception and understanding because they speak from an uncanny knowledge and heightened intuition that is inspired by the beast that has incomprehensible power over physiology. Their language is totally opposite of the language coming through the Holy Spirit. The only purpose of the beast is to give breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people, which makes them fierce and incomprehensible. By what people are given to say and do, they are groomed to the mark, name, number, of the beast.
“And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them.” John 10:4-6

“Look upon Zion, the city of our appointed feasts; Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a quiet home, a tabernacle that will not be taken down; Not one of its stakes will ever be removed, nor will any of its cords be broken.” Isaiah 33:20
That verse is speaking of our eternal home, not one of its stakes will ever be removed, nor will any of its cords be broken, as quoted, “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant,” Hebrews 12:22-24
“But there the majestic Lord will be for us a place of broad rivers and streams, in which no galley with oars will sail,
nor majestic ships pass by (For the Lord is our Judge, the Lord is our Lawgiver, the Lord is our King; He will save us);” Isaiah 33:21-22
Our Majestic Lord will be the Water of life for us flowing from his throne in the New Jerusalem. “And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.” Revelations 22:1
In the Waters of Life of the eternal New Jerusalem, no galley with oars will sail. A galley was a huge ship that required many oarsmen to propel it, as seen in the picture below. It was extremely labor extensive and more like oppressive prison work than anything else. Today, the masses of the global population are the oarsmen propelling the ship of the global government of the beast. The beast gives the oarsmen what to say and do and in that way the government of the beast is able to sail. In the eternal New Jerusalem, that ship will never sail. “For the Lord is our Judge, the Lord is our Lawgiver, the Lord is our King; He will save us.”
“Your tackle is loosed, they could not strengthen their mast, they could not spread the sail. Then the prey of great plunder is divided; The lame take the prey. And the inhabitant will not say, “I am sick”; The people who dwell in it will be forgiven their iniquity.” Isaiah 33:23-24
The tackle of a ship was everything needed to sail a ship, such as ropes, pulleys, gear to control sails, anchors, cables, etc. but it was heavy weight. When a ship was beginning to sink, while in a storm, the weight of that tackle was loosed or thrown overboard. In Acts 27:18-20 the tackle of the ship was thrown overboard to keep the ship from sinking within a storm. Everything necessary to make the government of the beast sail will be loosed or rather thrown overboard and this present world system will come to its end.
For our tackle to be loosed means that we are freed from the weight of sin and death through Jesus Christ who forgives sin and gives us eternal life. That also means that we will no longer be weighed down by the oppressive burden of living by every word, feeling, act, and thought that the beast imposes upon us. When our Lord Jesus Christ returns, their mast will have no strength, the same as the power center of the beast will be plunged into darkness in the Fifth Plague of Revelations 16:10-11. The government of the beast will not be able to spread its sail to keep the global culture moving forward.
For the prey of great plunder to be divided refers to our eternal reward of eternal life after the collapse of this present world system, and we arrive to our home in the New Jerusalem. While the way of Christ Jesus is thought to be lame by the standards of the culture of the beast, their kingdom is plundered and we inherit the eternal Kingdom of God. The inhabitants of the New Jerusalem will not be saying, “I am sick”, but we who live in it will be forgiven our iniquity, made perfectly whole and healthy in our new eternal body.
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
