As a woman with child is in pain and cries out in her pangs, so have we been in Your sight, O Lord.

Isaiah 26:16-18

Lord, in trouble they have visited You,
They poured out a prayer when Your chastening was upon them.

As a woman with child is in pain and cries out in her pangs,
When she draws near the time of her delivery,
So have we been in Your sight, O Lord.

We have been with child, we have been in pain;
We have, as it were, brought forth wind;

We have not accomplished any deliverance in the earth,
Nor have the inhabitants of the world fallen.

As hardship, affliction, difficulties and persecution come upon this world, many will “visit” the Lord for relief from the tribulation. The pain coming to this world is like labor pains before the “delivery” of the return of Jesus Christ. However, those “visiting” the Lord will not be born-again in Jesus Christ because all they want is deliverance from the tribulation, not to serve God through Jesus Christ when pain comes for serving Him. They “bring forth wind” instead of bringing forth the birth of repentance. To be with child but bringing forth wind amounts to abortion, aborting faith in Jesus Christ in an effort to find comfort in this world. Those who do so are doing nothing to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to bring deliverance to the earth, and the inhabitants of the atheistic global culture have not fallen. Only in the name of Jesus is there victory, deliverance, and Salvation, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

Ever wonder about a world that doesn’t give birth and, yet, the population of the world does not fall? Isaiah speaks about that as described in the post on Isaiah 66:7-9
