King of Syria is destroyed, judgment of God continues against Israel, global government is God’s instrument of judgment.

Isaiah 9:8-12

“The Lord sent a word against Jacob, and it has fallen on Israel. All the people will know— Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria—Who say in pride and arrogance of heart: “The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with hewn stones; The sycamores are cut down, but we will replace them with cedars.” Isaiah 9:8-10

Jacob’s name was changed to Israel as described in Genesis 32:28, so the Lord sent a word against Israel. During the time of Isaiah, the Israelites were divided between the kingdom of Israel and the kingdom of Judah [as seen on the map below]. The Lord spoke a word against the kingdom of Israel. Samaria was the capital of the kingdom of Israel. Ephraim was part of Israel, but occupied by the Syrians, as agreed upon by the king of Israel. The king of Israel built a military confederacy with the king of Syria, instead of trusting in the word of God, who says, “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.” Zachariah 4:6

After the Assyrians brought devastation to the kingdom of Israel, which included Ephraim and Samaria, those of Israel vowed in their pride and arrogance to “build back better”. To rebuild without the word of God. The Assyrians represents the acts of the global government of today. We see how many countries around the world are being devasted by bombs and guns, but it is much more than that. Globally, there is a health care crisis, food shortages, hunger, housing crisis, homelessness, insecurities, threats of terrorism, mass shootings, cyber attacks, social upheaval, love has gone cold, economic woes, fuel shortages, global warming, and the list goes on. At the same time, the United Nations, in their pride and arrogance, vows to “build back better”, without God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, They lift up their “Sustainable Development Goals” as the way to rebuild the world, better than it has ever been before. They are pushing forward in becoming the undisputed one world government of the beast, convincing the global population that they are the Christ that can bring salvation to the planet and all of humanity.

The foundation of the global government and its global culture is the beast that has power over physiology to give them what to speak, do, think, and feel. They count on the beast to guide them in building a better world, an earthly Garden of Eden. The beast gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people everywhere. By what they are given to say and do, they are groomed to the mark, name, number of the beast.

The Kingdom of Aram-Damascus, the brown area on the map below, is the Syria that Isaiah was speaking of and is the approximate location of modern day Syria. The military forces of the king of Syria occupied Ephraim, which is the area around Beit-El and Shechem [which is the northern part of the West Bank of today].

“Therefore the Lord will set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and spur his enemies on,  the Syrians before and the Philistines behind; And they will devour Israel with an open mouth. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.” Isaiah 9:11-12

Rezin was the king of Syria, who formed a military confederacy with the king of the kingdom of Israel, and occupied Ephraim [in Israel]. The Lord vowed to stir up the enemies of Rezin against him, which would have been the Assyrians. The Syrians coming against the king of Syria would have been those of the land of Syria, who joined with the Assyrians to conquer all of Israel [including the territory of Ephraim occupied by the forces of the king of Syria]. The Lord does not approve of forming military alliances with foreign powers, because it causes faith to be put in worldly strength and not in the Spirit of God. As the Holy Spirit says, “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols?” 1 Corinthians 6:14-16

The Philistines then are from the land of the Gaza Strip of today and they joined with the Syrians against Israel. Today, we know there is a coalition against the State of Israel, involving the Gaza Strip, terrorist groups from Syria, and countries from all around. They have joined with “Assyria”, the global government, to destroy the independence of the State of Israel. Full members of the United Nations include Syria, Lebanon, Iran, and the Gaza Strip has “observer status” and recognized by the majority of countries in the United Nations. All enemies of Israel. China and Russia are two of the three most powerful nations in the world, both countries are atheists, and vote against Israel every time. That is why the United Nations is known as the global government of the beast. The lord vows, “And they will devour Israel with an open mouth.”

For all the trouble coming against Israel, “His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.” The Lord brings more of the wrath of His judgment against Israel, which involves the Battle of Armageddon. As we read in Ezekiel 39, Israel suffers total destruction in the Battle of Armageddon, but a remnant is saved.
