I was born and raised in Chillicothe Ohio, and I lived in Pike County for ten years. Those places are the setting for the transformation of churches and church ministries into community agencies and services.
If I were to write a full article, I would use the title, “Churches Selling Out While Community Agencies Buying In”. This article is symbolic of that, but more than symbolic because it is really happening in the area around here. In the one article, “Vanguard Ministries” [called a Christian ministry] bought a radioactive school building to conduct its “recovery programs”. Not recovery of the spirit and soul through Jesus Christ, but secular recovery programs relating to drugs, alcohol, etc. In the other article, a church building is bought by the “Ross County Board of Developmental Disabilities” to be transformed into the “Landrum Youth Empowerment Center”.

Quotes from the article below,
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ross County Board of Developmental Disabilities has finalized the purchase of the former Bridge Street Church of Christ building, which will now be transformed into the Landrum Youth Empowerment Center.
the new center aims to provide essential training, mentoring, support groups, and after-school activities for local young people.
The best way to describe what is causing churches to be transformed into centers for community services is called humanism. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has been abandoned by the churches in order to conform to the will of the community culture, which is to place human beings and human authority above honor for God and His authority. Humanism is “…an outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters. Humanist beliefs stress the potential value and goodness of human beings, emphasize common human needs, and seek solely rational ways of solving human problems…”
Humanism is the fig leaf worn by the entity that has power over physiology to give people what to think, feel, believe, say, and do. This atheistic entity enlivens the image of the beast to speak and live through people as they are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they are given to say and do. This is said of today’s community culture, which is global, “All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Revelation 13:8 The “him” in this verse is the beast of the image and mark of the beast.
Humanism focuses on the universal needs of human beings as a key part in bringing salvation to humanity and the planet. They focus a lot on using flattery to build up human esteem, self-respect, and dignity but focus nothing on healing the spirit and soul by the forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ, “For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.” Romans 16:18 Focusing on human needs alone does nothing to enable people to be born-again from within in the presence of the Holy Spirit. In fact, the atheistic entity that gives people what to feel, think, say, and do replaces the human conscience and spirit. Jesus said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4
I love to tell the story,
’Twill be my theme in glory,
To tell the old, old story
Of Jesus and His love.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
