“Sigh therefore, son of man, with a breaking heart, and sigh with bitterness before their eyes.” Ezekiel 21:6
Ezekiel lived in the will of God among the rebellion of the Israelites. God caused Ezekiel to sigh with bitterness and a breaking heart before their eyes. His sorrow was from seeing how the Israelites had completely turned from God and abandoned the Ten Commandments. Today, there are Jewish people who have come to believe in Jesus Christ as their Messiah. When they see the spiritual corruption of the Israelis, within the State of Israel, they sigh with bitterness and a broken heart.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we see how the people of the community have completely abandoned God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The churches have abandoned the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Government lawmakers no longer integrate the values of the Bible in their laws and policies. The educational system has tossed out the teaching of the Bible from the classrooms. Every sector of society has no welcome for Christianity. As Christians, we sigh with bitterness and a broken heart.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11

Thank you for this post; it’s so informative. Yes, sighing in grief is universal. Many people either do not follow God or have quit following God altogether. I think we both write about many of the same things but with different wordings as long as it is in truth- amen!
