Zechariah has just seen the Flying Scroll and the Woman in the Basket, both from chapter 5. What is seen in those two visions leads up to what is happening in this post of Zechariah 6:1-8.
- Four Chariots travel through a valley between two bronze mountains.
- Chariots with red horses, black horses. white horses, and dappled horses.
- The Four Chariots are four spirits of Heaven.
- The condition of the world during the time of the Four Chariots
Four Chariots travel through a valley between two bronze mountains.
“Then I turned and raised my eyes and looked, and behold, four chariots were coming from between two mountains, and the mountains were mountains of bronze.” Zechariah 6:1
Isaiah saw four chariots coming from between two mountains of bronze. Mountains represents something large and insurmountable and not easy to overcome. Those mountains were bronze, which was about least valuable metals of that time, with gold and silver being the most valuable. The bronze mountains would not be blossoming with trees, grass, and other vegetation.
The bronze mountains represent something large and insurmountable that does not allow the growth and blossoms of the fruit of the Spirit. That means the human spirit is hardened like cheap metal against Jesus Christ who gives the Holy Spirit. The beast that has power over physiology hardens the human spirit against God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. In that hardness, people are receptive to the beast that gives them what to speak, do, think, and feel. That is where the four chariots are being sent from…from a global population hardened against the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The four chariots bring upheaval to the global population. Prophetically, we can say that the two mountains represents the east and west hemispheres of the world, making the four chariots coming from the entire world.
In a worldly sense, the two mountains would be Mount Zion and Mount Olivet [Mount of Olives]. The valley between those mountains, through which the “four chariots” would come, would be the Valley of Kidron. As seen on the map below. Of course, we know that those two mountains will never literally be turned to bronze. The Lord is speaking to us, through Zachariah, in terms of prophecy.

Chariots with red horses, black horses. white horses, and dappled horses.
“With the first chariot were red horses, with the second chariot black horses, with the third chariot white horses, and with the fourth chariot dappled horses—strong steeds. Then I answered and said to the angel who talked with me, “What are these, my lord?” Zechariah 6:2-4
The vision of Zachariah corresponds to the “horses” that John saw in his vision, as described in Revelations 6:1-8.
With the first chariot were red horses. The red horse/horses represents taken peace from the earth and people killing one another, as quoted, “When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and see.” Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.” Revelations 6:3-4
With the second chariot black horses. The black horse/horses represent economic trouble and severe inflation, making the cost of living unbearable, as quoted, “When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” Revelations 6:5-6
With the third chariot white horses. The white horse/horses, represents the false Christ, “Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.” Revelations 6:1-2
The false Christ sets itself up as God within the temple of God, our body, and is the one “…who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 The beast does that by giving people what to speak, do, think, and feel. Click here for a post on the beast that sets itself up as God within people. The global culture of the beast puts themselves in the white clothing of false righteousness, “And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.” 2 Corinthians 11:14-15
With the fourth chariot dappled horses. Dapple refers to being spotted, but specifically a mix of different colors, something like an Appaloosa horse, as seen in the picture below, but with other colors.

The dappled horse/horses represent spiritual impurity, and a mix of various colors. In the Fourth Seal of Revelations 6, a mix is given of the previous three seals, which is to kill with sword, to cause unbearable inflation, and the false Christ, “When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.” Revelations 6:7-8
The Four Chariots are four spirits of Heaven.
“And the angel answered and said to me, “These are four spirits of heaven, who go out from their station before the Lord of all the earth.” Zechariah 6:5
The “spirits of heaven” are instrumental in carrying out the wrath of God’s judgment on this earth, similar to the unleashing of the events of the Seven Trumpets, “And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.” Revelations 8:2 And also when unleashing the events of the Seven Plagues, “And out of the temple came the seven angels having the seven plagues…” Revelations 15:6 Our Lord Jesus Christ opens the Seven Seals Himself, “Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals…He opened the first seal…He opened the second seal… He opened the third seal… He opened the fourth seal…He opened the fifth seal…He opened the sixth seal…He opened the seventh seal...” Revelations 6:1, 3, 5, 7,9, 12,and chapter 8:1
Going out from their station refers to being prepared to perform what the Lord has given them to perform, and doing so in His presence.
The condition of the world during the time of the Four Chariots.
“The one with the black horses is going to the north country, the white are going after them, and the dappled are going toward the south country.” Zachariah 6:6
The black horses, that goes north, represents economic distress. Inflation is so high that people suffer drastically under the burden of the cost-of-living. Hunger and death is suffered.
The white horse goes after the black horses. That is the false Christ, the government of the beast, stepping in as the savior of humanity. That is exactly the plan of the United Nations, to step in to declare itself the savior of the planet and of humanity. That is what their “Sustainable Development Goals” are all about. After six of the Seven Seals are opened, their will be a “1/2 hour” of silence in Heaven, as quoted, “When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.” Revelations 8:1. That is a short time of peace for the United Nations after they have been established as the undisputed one world government of the beast. Click for a post on that from Revelations 8.
The dappled [multicolored] horses, go to the south. That represents death and hell on earth. That will happen under the United Nations, when they are established as the undisputed one world government. While they talk about peace, security, and stability, its not intended for everyone. Anyone who does not live by the beast that gives people what to speak, do, think, and feel will suffer under the government of the beast. That is the beast that gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people, “He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.” Revelations 13:15 Click for a post on the image of the beast.
You may have noticed that the red horse is not mentioned, which represents global violence and a lack of peace on the earth. That would be because its mission was likely already fulfilled, and its purpose of bringing chaos and violence was completed. That would be at the time when the United Nations will be on the edge of establishing itself as the undisputed one world government [of the beast]. The goal of the United Nations is to establish world peace, stability, and safety, but without God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. They will have their “1/2 hour” of peace, as mentioned in the previous paragraph, then the events of the Seven trumpets and Seven Plagues are unleashed on them. The Seven Trumpets are described in Revelations 8, 9, and 11. The Seven Plagues are described in revelations 16.
“Then the strong steeds went out, eager to go, that they might walk to and fro throughout the earth. And He said, “Go, walk to and fro throughout the earth.” So they walked to and fro throughout the earth.” Zechariah 6:7
The “strong steeds” [the horses mentioned in the verses of this post] are on a mission from God to bring His judgment upon the whole earth. They are eager to do so, on a global scale, as they “walk to and fro throughout the earth”.
“And He called to me, and spoke to me, saying, “See, those who go toward the north country have given rest to My Spirit in the north country.” Zachariah 6:8
Those who went to the north country were the black horse/horses, and the white horse/horses. The black represents economic distress, unbearable cost-of-living, and way too high inflation. The white represents the false Christ, the beast that sets in the temple of God, our body, as if is God. The global economy of the government of the beast collapses as described in Revelations 18. That is a day of rejoicing for all of God’s people, and is the purpose of God bringing the wrath of His judgment to this world. The defeat of Satan and his beasts gives rest to the Spirit of God.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
