Genealogy of Jesus Christ and the Erasing of the Godly Heritage of God’s People

Reading the genealogy described in Matthew 1:1-17 is beneficial when reading the genealogy described here in Luke 3:23-38.

In Luke, the beginning of the genealogy of Jesus is with Adam, the first son of God, the genealogy of Matthew begins with Abraham. Matthew shows us that Jesus is the fulfillment of the promise that God made through Abraham to cause the family of God to multiply, based on faith, not the letter of the law, “And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise”, Galatians 3:29. Luke shows us that Jesus is indeed of the family tree of Adam and is the Son of God as the “Second Adam”, “And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.” 1 Corinthians 15:45

In Luke, the entire genealogy is made of only men because, in the eyes of the Jewish culture, the seed[semen] of men was given more prominence than the women carrying the seed. In Matthew, he mentions several women, Tamar [who disguised herself as a prostitute to become pregnant by Judah], Rahab [who was a prostitute who helped the children of God defeat their enemies], Ruth [who was a Moabite gentile], Uriah’s wife [whom King David married], and Mary [the mother of Jesus]. Matthew’s account of the genealogy of Jesus is important because it shows how God came to bring His mercy, grace, and Salvation to all the gentile non-Jewish world, not just to the Jewish people. This is why Matthew begins his account of the genealogy by referring to Abraham in the very first verse.

Luke’s and Matthew’s genealogies of Jesus differ, as Solomon is included in Matthew’s account but omitted in Luke’s [Nathan is mentioned instead]. Matthew includes a lot of what we would say, “…this person is on my mother’s side of the family”, while Luke includes a lot of what we would say, “…this person is on my father’s side of the family”

The virgin birth of Mary is important because the birth of our Lord Jesus is not from the lineage of man, not from the semen of a man, but is born by the seed of the Holy Spirit and given birth by a woman.

The lineage of Jesus Christ is our heritage as His followers. His lineage starts with his earthly father Joseph and traces all the way back to Adam, the Son of God. It is our heritage to serve Him as the second Adam, the sinless Son of God who atoned for sin.

The lineage of Jesus is full of people who made our heritage what it is today. For example, there is Zerubbabel who led the rebuilding of the temple of God after being in captivity to Babylon. Jesus Christ came to free us from captivity to sin and has rebuilt the spirit and soul of people to be the home of the Holy Spirit.

There is Abraham who was counted righteous for believing God, and because of him we have assurance that we are made righteous by coming to God through Jesus Christ. The promise to Abraham was that through his seed multitudes would be added to his family, and that promise was kept with the coming of Jesus Christ.

There is Amos who said that he was not a schooled prophet nor the son of a prophet, just a man of God with a prophecy against Israel concerning God’s righteousness and judgment. Today, it is our heritage that it’s not necessary to buy a college degree of divinity to share the testimony of Jesus Christ. It’s not even necessary to be brought up by Godly parents to be able to bring the Gospel of the Cross. All we need is the Word of God through Jesus Christ, “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:10 If we want to know where the world is within prophecy we only need to see where Jesus is within the world.

There is King David, who as a young boy, defeated the giant Goliath, which encourages us that Jesus will bring down this Christless global government. It is also prophesied that Christ would come through the seed of David, and so it happened.

There is Noah, who built the ark for the salvation of his family, and it is Jesus who is the ark of our Salvation. The family tree of Jesus Christ is rich with our Godly heritage.

Hebrews 11 has a list of people who are part of the genealogy of the followers of Jesus Christ. We were adopted into that family when we came to Jesus for the forgiveness of sin. The faith of our ancestors molded our faith for persevering in this world as we look forward to the promised land of eternal life in the New Jerusalem. It’s the same faith in God on which the constitution of the United States is founded.

Today, the Godly heritage of America is being torn down and swept under a rug. The killing of the unborn is very close to being codified into law, even though Roe vs. Wade was overturned. Half the states across the USA are finding ways to continue with abortions. Same sex marriages have been codified into law, and the family structure as God intended has been wrecked.

The Christless masses no longer subject themselves to the Godly decisions of the Supreme Court. Churches no longer preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ because they embrace the “community family” frame of mind. They no longer set themselves apart for service to God through Jesus. Evangelism is non-existent, and with 166,000 migrants coming to the US/Mexico border every month the Gospel is not being shared with them. The heritage given to us through Jesus Christ is vanishing, but a faithful few followers of Jesus will always remain to the end of the earth.

The Baby Boomers, those of us who remember the roots which the testimony of Christ once had in this nation, are disappearing through attrition. As the Baby Boomers vanish, the younger generations haven’t a clue about what the message of the Cross is and have no belief in life after death. They are exposed to a society and educational system that embraces humanism empowered by the entity giving them what to think, feel, do, and say. This entity enlivens the image of the beast to live and speak through people in every city around the world. The masses of people conform to the heritage of the global culture and reject the heritage we have in God through Jesus Christ. They are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they say and do.

Within the global culture, there is no focus on anything beyond the money, possessions, and physical comforts of this world. The entity that has power over physiology keeps the spirit and soul void of anything related to God, Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit. This entity is turning the human body into its seat of government by giving people their thoughts, feelings, words, and behaviors. It is destructive to the person who devotes the body as the temple of the Holy Spirit. This has been stated plainly in this verse, “Then he opened hiss mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. He was granted to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.” Revelation 13:6-7 The “him” in this verse is the beast associated with the image and mark of the beast.
