The Scripture in this post is using the person of Melchizedek to compare the likenesses and differences with Jesus Christ. The likenesses legitimize the Divine Priesthood of Jesus Christ, but the differences make it clear that Jesus Christ is the only person whom God has verified to be His Son. Jesus Christ is the only sinless, righteous, and Holy Son of God who makes atonement for sin.
We must always keep our focus on Jesus Christ and not follow someone or something that is very similar to Christ. Today, the world is following after a false leader of peace and righteousness. It is a leader masquerading as an angel of light with its ministers of righteousness “And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.” 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 The false leader of righteousness and peace operates through the beast that gives people what to say, do, think, and feel. That beast gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people. Bywhat they are given to say and do, they are conformed to the mark, name, number of the beast.
Today, the heritage of Christianity has given way to honoring the beast that has power over physiology and is able to form emotions, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It acts as Satan’s minister of righteousness. Thankfully, Jesus Christ came to change the requirement of depending on other human beings to reconcile us to God. Through Jesus, we can enter into the presence of God because our body has been made into the temple of the Holy Spirit. We oppose the idea of surrendering our body to be the seat of government for the beast. Eternal life comes through Jesus Christ, but the false angel of light and its false ministers of righteousness have eternal torment.
The idea that all things center around human rationale is a flawed ministry rooted in the teachings of humanism. Humanism is the fig leaf worn by those who live and govern for the beast. Humanism is “…an outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters. Humanist beliefs stress the potential value and goodness of human beings, emphasize common human needs, and seek solely rational ways of solving human problems…”
The false angel of light with its false ministers of righteousness and peace teach that people are a specie of animal, there is no sanctity of life, nothing sacred, and nothing beyond the cold and dark grave. Jesus Christ brings a Divine hope of the immortality of the soul, forgiveness of sin, and life after death. Jesus is the eternal High Priest who opens the inner sanctuary of our body to make us the temple of the Holy Spirit. He is Holy, sinless, separate from sinners, and the final sacrifice for the atonement of sin.

Genesis 14:18-20 mentions Melchizedek
The King of Righteousness and Peace.
Chapter 7 of Hebrews is a comparison between Jesus Christ and Melchizedek. Everything that is known about Melchizedek is written in these three verses, “Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said: “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth; And blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him one-tenth of all.” Genesis 14:18-20
“For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated “king of righteousness,” and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace,” without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life,
but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.” Hebrews 7:1-3
I wonder how many people are aware that Abraham was a warrior, a victorious warrior in battle. The same Abraham who is the father of Isaac. The same Abraham to whom God promised his descendants would be as innumerable as the stars in the sky.
| Jesus Christ | Melchizedek |
| Jesus Christ is the Peace of God | Melchizedek is the king of peace in name only known as the King of Salem, Salem means “peace”. |
| Jesus Christ is the Righteousness of God | Melchizedek is the king of righteousness in name only as the name Melchizedek means righteousness. |
| Jesus is the Bread of Life, which is the Word of God and bread represents His Body. He is also the New Wine of the New Covenant and wine also symbolizes His Blood. His Wine and Bread are for communion with Him. | Melchizedek brought bread and wine to greet Abraham. Abraham received the promise of the New Covenant of Jesus Christ, the New Wine. In a sense, this was a prophetic communion with Jesus Christ between Melchizedek and Abraham |
| Jesus is the High Priest who gave His life as the atonement for sin, which opened our body to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. | Melchizedek was the priest of God Most High as an earthly symbolism of Jesus Christ. |
| Jesus Christ is part of the Godhead as the Son of God, a member of the Holy Trinity. | Melchizedek blessed God as a show of reverence, which would be to give reverence to Jesus as God the Son. He blessed Abraham in the name of the Living God. |
| Jesus Christ receives offerings of praise and worship as the Savior of the world | Melchizedek received worldly possessions as tithes from Abraham who brought him 1/10th of earthly plunder. |
In the chart, the differences are obvious between Jesus Christ and Melchizedek, and in the later part of this post, the Scripture makes that clear. But in the first three verses, the comparison is made to prove that there is a person similar to Jesus Christ in the Old Testament. By making this comparison, it would be much easier to reconcile the Old Testament beliefs with belief in Jesus Christ as the eternal High Priest of God. Because of Melchizedek, it can be said that it’s not unusual for someone greater than Abraham to exist, which is inferred because Abraham paid tithes to and was blessed by Melchizedek. Bringing up Melchizedek would really rile the Jews, after all, this is what they said to Jesus, “Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead. Who do You make Yourself out to be?” John 8:53 The answer is “Yes.” Jesus Christ is greater than Abraham and so was Melchizedek, and Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior of the world.
It would be difficult for the early believers to comprehend that Jesus Christ existed from the beginning of time before creation and will not have an end. So, it’s explained that there is no record of Melchizedek having a beginning or end either, “Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life.” It would also be hard to explain that the righteousness of God comes through Jesus Christ, but King Melchizedek is translated “king of righteousness.” It would also be hard to comprehend that Jesus Christ is the peace of God, but King of Salem is translated to “king of peace.” The Old Testament also called Melchizedek the priest of the Most High God, just like Jesus Christ is the High Priest of the Most High God. There is no record of Melchizedek passing away, so he continues in Jewish heritage as a priest continually, similar to Christ who is the eternal High Priest over our body, the temple of the Holy Spirit.
The Old Testament Scripture validates the Deity of Jesus Christ through Melchizedek. The obvious differences between the two can be summed up in one verse, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died to open the inner sanctuary of our body to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. Not even the Melchizedek, called the “king of righteousness”/”king of peace” has the authority to do what Jesus has done to atone for sin.
The Deity of Jesus Christ as God’s Son is what separates Him from Abraham, Moses, Melchizedek, and all other servants of God. If we took our eyes off of Jesus and served a likeness of Melchizedek, it would be equivalent to worshipping a false angel of light and believing those who masquerade as ministers of righteousness. The beast that has power over physiology and can form thoughts, emotions, feelings, and behaviors is a lot like Melchizedek. It is given the honor of being all about peace and righteousness, which describes humanism empowered as the fig leaf worn by those living for the beast that gives them what to do and say. The churches of today give the beast tribute and in return they are given community blessings of money and partnership.
The beast that wants to make people its seat of government doesn’t have any human history whatsoever, no father, mother, genealogy, nor anything to be identified with. Its origins are unknown. There is no way to document its beginnings, and it will exist in this world until Jesus comes to destroy it. While in this world, it sits in the temple of God, our body, showing itself to be God by giving people what to feel, think, say, and do. That beast is the one who “…opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:4 Click for a post on that.
Heritage of Christianity Gives Tribute to an UnGodly Angel of Light.
“Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the plunder. And indeed, those who are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to receive tithes from the people according to the law, that is, from their brethren, though they have come from the loins of Abraham; but he whose genealogy is not derived from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises.” Hebrews 7:4-6
Today, there is something that is outside the heritage of Godly foundations but sits self up as God in the temple of God. That beast falsely proclaims a message of righteousness and peace as masses around the world acknowledges its greatness by boasting, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with it?” Revelation 13:4 It is outside the realm of the Gospel of Jesus Christ but demands to be given tribute within the boundaries of the churches. The heritage of the Church has been corrupted by giving tribute to the beast by living according to what the beast gives them to say and do.
Melchizedek was considered to be a priest by Abraham, and Abraham is the richness of Church history. Abraham is the father of all those who believe in God through Jesus Christ, yet he gave tribute to Melchizedek. Melchizedek was considered a great man, “Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the plunder.“ Melchizedek wasn’t even a Levite, and the reason that matters is because all priests were selected from the tribe of Levi. Technically by law, Melchizedek would not qualify to be a priest, so receiving tithes from Abraham would be an unusual deviation from established standards. Only the priests of Levi would receive tithes from within their own congregation within the twelve tribes of Israel. “And indeed, those who are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to receive tithes from the people according to the law, that is, from their brethren.” Melchizedek did receive tithes, “but he whose genealogy is not derived from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises.”
Jesus Christ is given tribute far above Moses, Abraham, and every other figure of the Holy Scriptures. Technically by law, that is unusual because Jesus is from the tribe of Judah, not the priestly tribe of Levi.
Leadership of Today’s Churches are Giving Tribute to an unGodly Angel of Light.
“Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better. Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives. Even Levi, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham, so to speak, for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him.” Hebrews 7:7-10
Levi represents the lineage from which all priests would come. The future generations of priests were still in the loins of Abraham when tithes were made to Melchizedek. The twelve tribes of Isarael were not born yet because Isaac [son of Abraham] was not born yet, who gave birth to Jacob/Israel, who gave birth to twelve sons, which formed the Twelve Tribes of Israel. One of those tribes is called Levi, from where all the priests came. Those future priests of “Levi” are the ministers of the churches of today, and they are paying tribute to a likeness of Melchizedek, “Even Levi, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham, so to speak, for he was still in the loins of his father.” The churches of today have taken their eyes off the Deity of Jesus Christ and are serving something that is an angel of light with its false ministers of righteousness and peace.
Melchizedek is lifted up as being greater than Abraham because Abraham was blessed by and gave tribute to Melchizedek, “Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better.” In this world, human beings receive tribute of money, possessions, and flatteries, but in God’s realm, Jesus Christ receives tribute of praise and worship as the Savior of humanity, “Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives.”
Ministry through the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a Better Way.
“Therefore, if perfection were through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need was there that another priest should rise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be called according to the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law. For He of whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no man has served at the altar.” Hebrews 7:11-13
In today’s world, the leaders of the churches are not adequate for leading people into the presence of God through Jesus Christ. They have discarded the Gospel of Christ. The Gospel is what humanity needs, which is much better than relying on human rationale, possessions, money, and physiological enhancements. If the earthly ministers of the churches are all that we need, then why was it necessary for God to send His Son Jesus Christ?
In today’s terms, Jesus Christ is not from the same circles that the church leaders come from. He is not a seminary student, not a theological graduate, and not from any of the networks that would qualify a person to be a priest in a church. He was not from the tribe of Levi and all priests were chosen from the tribe of Levi; He was from the tribe of Judah. By not being a Levite, he had no right to lay claim to a High Priest position. That is why it is said He is from the order of Melchizedek, someone not affiliated with the lineage of priests. Aaron was a Levite priest, but this verse is spoken about Jesus Christ, “that another priest should rise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be called according to the order of Aaron” The point is being made that church leadership without Jesus Christ is not acceptable, “Therefore, if perfection were through the Levitical priesthood……what further need was there that another priest should rise according to the order of Melchizedek….?”
This is speaking of Jesus Christ, “For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law.” Hebrew 8:4
When Jesus Christ became High Priest over the temple of God, our body, it changed everything. Not only did it change the law of priestly duties from the tribe of Levi to the tribe of Judah, but it also completely eliminated the need for human priests. “For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law. For He of whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no man has served at the altar”
Jesus Christ Comes in the Power of Eternal Life.
“For it is evident that our Lord arose from Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priests. And it is yet far more evident if, in the likeness of Melchizedek, there arises another priest who has come, not according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life. For He testifies: “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.” Hebrews 7:14-17
The leadership of the churches of today live by a fleshly commandment that is known as humanism. Everything that they believe centers around human rationale and basic human needs while ignoring the immortality of the soul. They discard the existence of eternal life, which comes through the atonement of sin that Christ Jesus made on the Cross and His resurrection. Jesus is the One “who has come, not according to the law of a fleshly commandment.” Those who live for the beast that gives them what to say and do deny the priesthood of Jesus Christ and deny that people are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Even so, Jesus Christ is the Priest who comes with the power of eternal life.
Those who live by the Old Testament Scripture have a hard time accepting that Jesus Christ is greater than Moses and Abraham. It is hard for them to accept that Jesus could be a High Priest because He isn’t from the priestly tribe of Levi, but from the tribe of Judah, but “…it is evident that our Lord arose from Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priests.” Jesus Christ is the eternal High Priest who brings us into the presence of God through His death and resurrection. It is exactly consistent with the Old Testament text written about Melchizedek. God says this about Jesus, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”
Jesus Christ Brings a Better Hope by Replacing the Ministry of Flawed Humans.
“For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness, for the law made nothing complete; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.” Hebrews 7:18-19
The ministry of human beings, as a priest over the temple of God, our body, has been replaced. It is not acceptable that people are governed by beliefs that everything hinges around human rationale and basic human needs. While they make the human being their number one priority, they discard the Deity of Jesus Christ and toss out the need for the forgiveness of sin. They have evicted the Holy Spirit from the temple of God, our body, and have made people the seat of government for the beast that governs by giving people what to say, do, think, and feel. In a sense, that is what was happening under Old Testament law, a barrier was set between the inner sanctuary of our body and the presence of God within a person. Barriers to the access of God does nothing to make a person whole, “There is an annulling of the former commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness, for the law made nothing complete.”
“On the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.” Drawing near to God is what it’s all about, and Jesus Christ makes it happen. There is no closer relationship for a person to have than fellowship with God through Jesus Christ. When Jesus Christ gave His life on the Cross for the atonement of sin, He became the High Priest over our body, the temple of God. He removed the barrier that was in us and opened access into the inner sanctuary, our soul. It is there where we draw near to God through Jesus Christ as our body becomes the temple of the Holy Spirit. Neither Melchizedek, nor angels, nor, Abraham, nor Moses, nor any other can replace the Deity of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is Sworn in as High Priest by God for the Better Promise.
“And inasmuch as He was not made priest without an oath (for they have become priests without an oath, but He with an oath by Him who said to Him: “The Lord has sworn and will not relent, ‘You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek’”), by so much more Jesus has become a guarantee of a better covenant.”Hebrews 7:20-22
The covenant made with Abraham was sealed by the promise of God, and that covenant is fulfilled through Jesus Christ, “And inasmuch as He was not made priest without an oath.” That promise relates to believing God and being considered righteous through Jesus Christ, which is the core of this verse, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
People are not sealed by the promise of God when they decide to be a priest, pastor, teacher, or any other type of minister. Only Jesus Christ has the backing of God as the Priest over our soul, which is why the testimony of Jesus Christ is the only sanctioned word to be preached, taught, and ministered. All of the priests selected from the tribe of Levi were sealed by the word of human beings, not by God’s word which sealed the promise of a new covenant through Jesus Christ. God broke the lineage of the priestly tribe of Levi by bringing His Son, the High Priest, from the tribe of Judah. He was to follow the example of Melchizedek who had no connection to the priestly lineage but was called the priest of the Most High God. As God says about Jesus, “The Lord has sworn and will not relent, ‘You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek’”), by so much more Jesus has become a guarantee of a better covenant.”
In the New Testament, the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Scribes couldn’t bear to hear the teachings of Jesus Christ, a Jew from the tribe of Judah, when they were following the protocols of the Levitical priesthood.
Jesus Christ is the Eternal Preist.
“Also, there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing. But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. Therefore, He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:23-25
There is no longer a need for depending on ministers who die, no longer a need to be concerned about one minister leaving and another coming as a replacement. Our Lord Jesus is the only Minister we will ever need and He never passes away, He is an unchangeable Priest, the One who lives eternally.
Those who govern and live for the beast, in the name of humanism, considers the beast’s existence to be eternal. People die, but the beast that has power over physiology lives on from one generation to the next. It cares about its own perpetual existence but cares nothing for the sanctity of human life, and cares nothing for the eternal destiny of people. As the beast maneuvers people like a human robot, by giving them what to say, do, think, and feel, it discards the need for Jesus Christ, ignores the voice of the Holy Spirit, and mocks God. Although it embraces eternity for itself, it is rooted in the elements of this perishable world. Its earthly view of eternity will end when Jesus Christ returns to bring true eternal life for individuals who believe in Him. The sun’s intense heat of Revelations 16:8-9, “natural” disasters, climate disorders, and continual global violence will usher in global tribulation before the return of Christ Jesus. The false angel of light, with its false ministers of righteousness and peace, will suffer the second death of eternal torment.
There is not one human being alive that can fill the shoes of Jesus as priest over the temple of God, our body, “Also, there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing.” Jesus Christ is eternal and exists beyond this present heaven and earth into the new heaven and earth of the New Jerusalem. Through Jesus, we will also inherit eternal life, because He lives, we will live also. Salvation is for all individuals who come to God through Jesus Christ, “But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. Therefore, He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him.” We live in times when there has been a fire kindled against Christianity as the world marches towards a global democracy rooted in serving the beast, but Jesus always lives to make intercession for us.
Jesus Christ is Holy, Separate from Sinners, and the Final Sacrifice.
“For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is Holy, innocent, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever.” Hebrews 7:26-28
We are created in the image of God and made to be the temple of the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ. The only hope of living in the Holiness of God is through Jesus Christ, “For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is Holy, innocent, undefiled, separate from sinners.”
Our Lord Jesus Christ is separate from sinners, and every earthly minister is a sinner, required to repent of sin through Jesus Christ, “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus…” Romans 3:23-24
Our Lord Jesus Christ is higher than heavens, higher than the power of the air, of which Satan is the ruler of, “…the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.” Ephesians 2:2 Christ Jesus goes farther than the space shuttles, far above the space station, and far above any space satellite. The Spirit of the Lord speaks about that through Ezekiel, as seen in the post on Ezekiel 1 about the space shuttle, space station, and space satellites.
Our Lord Jesus does not need to repent of His sins in order to reconcile to God His Father, He is part of the Godhead as the Son of God. He is God the Son, with God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit. There is no minister in the world, nor has there ever been, and nor will there ever be, that is God in the flesh…only the Christ, whose name is Jesus.
Our Lord Jesus offered up His body on the Cross as the sacrifice to atone for our sin. From now on, that is the only sacrifice that will ever be needed, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Human ministers are born with inherited sin, a weakness that will be with all of humanity until the day we are resurrected into eternal life. We who believe in Christ Jesus will be resurrected with a redeemed, perfect, sinless, and eternal body. God has appointed His Son to be the Savior of the world, whose perfection is forever.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
