Betrayal of Christ Leads to Aggression

Luke 22:35-38

This is still during the time that the betrayal of Jesus Christ has been bought and paid for, but just inches away from His arrest and Crucifixion. There is a lot of mistrust, suspicion, and issues over who has authority over who. This portion of scripture reminds me of the “Preppers.” Some of the Preppers are highly suspicious of government taking away their constitutional rights, and rightly so. They even arm themselves with personal weapons in preparation to defend their rights. Even Christians are suspicious of the government that operates through the mark of the beast. Some Preppers are merely preparing for the end time catastrophe, some are Christians, and some are not. Every Christian is preparing for the same catastrophes.

“Then Jesus asked them,
“When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?”
“Nothing,” they answered.
He said to them,
“But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag;
and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.”
Luke 22:35

Jesus Christ makes it clear that He always provides for His followers, and there is none lacking anything. But now, the Spirit of Christ has been betrayed and a mob will soon come to arrest and kill Him. This is like the times we are living in today, where Jesus Christ is put away, the Holy Spirit is being spat on, and the mark of the beast is worshipped as God. They take away the Godly foundations of the US constitution, take away the Gospel of Christ from the Church, and come against anyone who oppose them. At this time, it sounds like Jesus could be talking directly to the Preppers when He says to get ready, grab your bags, money, and a weapon.

“It is written:
‘And He was numbered with the transgressors’;
and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me.
Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.”
The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.”
“That’s enough!” He replied.”
Luke 22:37-38

A transgressor in this case would be one who chooses rebellion over the Spirit of Jesus Christ. That is what we are seeing in today’s society. People are rebelling against the government of the mark of the beast because it is changing the Godly foundations of the US constitution. Jesus Christ is counted among that rebellion. That’s because Jesus and the rebellion has hatred for the Godless government that sets itself up as God and destroys the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Yet, it is not a well-armed militia, mostly just individuals trying to defend the Godly roots that are established. That describes many of the Preppers who will defend their rights, with weapons, under the US Constitution. Jesus Christ is counted among the transgressors.

Jesus is making intercession for the transgressors. He came to die at the hands of Godless authorities to bring Salvation to whoever believes in Him. Today, many who rebel against Godless authorities can relate to the Gospel of Christ that warns against the government that operates through the mark of the beast. For that reason, Jesus is counted among the transgressors even today. He bears the sin of many and makes intercession for the transgressors.

Therefore, I will give Him a portion among the many,
    and He will divide the spoils with the numerous,
because He poured out His life unto death,
    and was numbered with the transgressors.
For He bore the sin of many,
    and made intercession for the transgressors.

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
