7th Day, God Rests but People Keep Trying

Genesis 2:1-3

There is not going to be an earthly utopia created on this earth, God has already created that utopia a long time ago, and now He rests. Human nature was marred with sin and that moved all of us away from that utopia. God is not going to start all over, He has rested from that work of creation. The only way back to Paradise is through Jesus Christ who forgives us of sin and reconciles us to God. Through the same power that resurrected Jesus from dead, we also will be resurrected into the New Jerusalem within the new heaven and new earth. The fall from grace, that led to the corruption of human nature, resulted because a lie was believed that a person could be as knowledgeable and wise as God. It ruined the creation and there are no second chances to reshape the earth into a utopia for humanity, God has rested. The second chance comes through our hope in Jesus.

God created a world that He called Holy, and it became marred with the sin of trying to be as wise as God. Being super smart and having extraordinary knowledge isn’t going to be enough to get the world back to the earthly paradise. The unnatural knowledge is a sin that turns a person away from God, away from Jesus Christ, and away from the Bible. Unfortunately, that is what is in the world today, a thing which forms what people think, feel, do, and say to give extraordinary abilities in every way. It enables the image of the beast to live and speak through people with uncanny knowledge and heightened intuition. By what they say and do, they are conformed to their place in life as they are groomed to the mark of the beast.

Those who govern and live by the thing which forms what they think, feel, do, and say believe their system of internal government will usher in utopia on earth. Their faith for the future should not rest in the thing which is giving life to the image of the beast within people. Utopia is not going to be achieved by earthly means and paradise will never exist on this earth again. God has rested from His work of creation. When a person comes to God, for the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ, then there is a reservation made in the paradise of the New Jerusalem. This nation’s leaders, and leaders around the world, are trying to create an earthly utopia, but they are relying on the wisdom and knowledge of the internal government to create that humanitarian world. That is what ruined paradise in the first place.

Those seeking to build an earthly utopia have a lot of problems that they need to fix, and they don’t know how to. The sun’s intense heat is melting glaciers, causing droughts, and affecting food supplies. This world is marred, and God has rested from His work of creation. There is global violence along with many earthquakes, unnatural storms, and the list goes on. The wisdom of the internal government is not wise enough to get this world back to paradise. The flesh and blood human robots who live by the thing which programs them what to think, feel, do, and say are not heading to utopia, they are headed to eternal torment. The way back to God’s paradise is through Jesus Christ.

As God rested from His work of creation, the only thing left to do is acknowledge His Holiness, acknowledge that we are the unholy ones, and ask for forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Then we will inherit utopia, but not on this earth, it is waiting for us in the New Jerusalem.

“Thus, the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so, on the seventh day He rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it Holy, because on it He rested from all the work of creating that He had done.”
Genesis 2:1-3

  1. Here is one of my favorite Bible verses: Matthew 6:31-32
Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, “What will we eat?,” “What will we drink?” or, “With what will we be clothed?” For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

    I have many favorites!

    1. I was homeless for over a year. Being a decent person is more important to me than being part of a society that doesn’t respect that. I choose to make God the center of my life through Jesus.
