David asked the defendant how he knew Saul and Jonathan were dead: In the judgment, Jesus Christ asks how it is known that Israel and Christianity are dead.

David begins questioning the “defendant” from Saul’s camp: Jesus Christ will judge the “defendants” from the camp of the global culture.
2 Samuel 1:3-4.
Followers of Jesus Christ have victory in the wet and boggy mire of this world.
Zachariah 10:5.
A man from the camp of Saul bows at the feet of David: Those from the camp of this world will bow at the feet of Jesus Christ.

After David avenges on the Amalekites and Saul is dead, he condemns hostility towards Saul: When Jesus Christ comes back, after the death of Israel, He brings judgment towards hostility to Israel.

Saul and his sons are buried beneath a dry heap of stones: The State of Israel is being buried beneath a dry heap of stones.
