I'm a 1959 Baby Boomer which has allowed me to see drastic changes in the Christian landscape. I grew up going to Church every Sunday, in those days the Bible still had strong roots in America. In my 20's, I participated with the Church in public meetings. There were about eight of us who would go out to a street corner or public park to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There were horns, a bass drum, singing, and a short Salvation message from the Bible. Suddenly, that all changed. The city passed ordinances to prohibit that type of public "solicitation." Today, it seems almost illegal to mention the Gospel to the younger generation. I retired at the age of 62. As a person living for the testimony of Jesus Christ, I always felt like a salmon swimming against the current. Work was always a struggle between trying to be a decent individual while dealing with "progressive" and "left wing" changes at the workplace. It's clear that there is a force in the world that is quietly eliminating the Gospel of Jesus Christ while making Christians look like enemies of humanity. At the same time, there is a force in the world that has power over physiology and is able to form thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It is definitely against Jesus Christ. John 3:16 is something I always want to cling to, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." I know the suffering of spiritual assault that hinders a constructive lifestyle & when frustration & anger seems to be the sole option - I know we can survive through the Cross of Christ. We have a home in the Kingdom of Heaven waiting for us.

What’s that Voice I’m Hearing?

1 Samuel 3 The people I run across are hearing something and even suggest that I be more attentive to that same hearing phenomenon. But obviously I'm not hearing the same thing, the only people who are benefiting from "hearing" are the interracial marriages part of my family who has 11 children between them and … Continue reading What’s that Voice I’m Hearing? →

The Light of the Lamb

I make a constant effort to maintain peacefulness, meekness, and gentleness in my tone of voice and actions. Which is the same as saying I have no desire to use harshness and aggressiveness when I address someone. If I did, I really believe that I would be the one hauled off in a "padded wagon" … Continue reading The Light of the Lamb →

Children are Brainy

Aren't children something these days? They know everything and are so cute about putting adults in their place, me anyway. They keep me without words and without any response. They leave me thinking, "where did that come from?" They are so unnaturally knowledgeable, and their behavior is so unmanageable, be it for the good or … Continue reading Children are Brainy →

Should I Rejoice and Mourn?

I know I should rejoice with those who rejoice and to mourn with those who mourn. With sincere people that is a really sympathetic thing to do. I do it all the time, when something good happens to somebody I smile and congratulate them, and when they are facing something difficult, I offer my condolences. … Continue reading Should I Rejoice and Mourn? →

Mask Mandate, Chip Mandate

I was looking at my "stats" to see how many different countries I could see and there are a lot from all around the world. From what I read in news articles and other news broadcasts there are many forms of governments. Every one of the citizens of those governments responded to the mask mandate … Continue reading Mask Mandate, Chip Mandate →

Harley Davidson and Jeremiah

I owned a Harley Davidson motorcycle and attended the local motorcycle rodeo two years in a row. I was definitely breaking some unplowed ground. I was welcomed warmly, and a topless woman sat next to me, accompanied by her man, of course. They showed me around all the hottest spots and showed me where the … Continue reading Harley Davidson and Jeremiah →

Tormented With Pain

Luke 16:22-26 I don't know how many more health care appointments I can survive. At the age of sixteen, I broke my arm and it ended up being 6 hours and three hospitals later before a cast was put on and pain medication prescribed. Sometime later, I went to a low-income dental clinic to have … Continue reading Tormented With Pain →

Shake Off the Dust

The management of the apartments where I live have posted signs, "No Soliciting", and that includes no "door-to-door" from Jehovah Witnesses or any other ministry. That type of person-to-person ministry has pretty much disappeared. Citizens of this community are not welcoming of those types of tactics. Jesus said, "...whoever will not receive you nor hear … Continue reading Shake Off the Dust →

12 Squirrels in One Tree!?

Jude 1 Today, I ran across my neighbor who lives in the apartment next to me. It's a beautiful sunny warm day here in Ohio. She greeted me with a warm "hello, how are you?" I responded with a cheerful, "Hi, it's a beautiful day today." As soon as I said that her mood changed … Continue reading 12 Squirrels in One Tree!? →

Family of Wolves

Luke 21:16, 34 Brothers, sisters, parents, relatives, and friends are all people we usually develop a long-standing relationship with. In my case, the contact that I have with them is of short duration and a fairly long space of time between. I wonder why they even bother at all because the conversations are more like … Continue reading Family of Wolves →
