This whole chapter of John makes it plain that the churches are no place for those who live for Jesus Christ. In fact, Believers are being chased out of the churches. The people who are chasing out Christians don’t have a relationship with Jesus, and they don’t know God. Their god is the thing that has power over physiology and is able to form thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. A fire is already kindled against those who disagree with homosexual marriages, abortions, and a long list of “progressive” or “left wing” policies. The world is wading in the water of Christian persecution and is living by the inner presence of the mark of the beast. My faith is strengthened because the Bible explains to me what is happening today and what is about to happen soon.
“These things have I spoke to you, that you will not be offended.
They will put you out of the synagogues: yes, the time comes,
that whoever kills you will think that he does God service.
And these things will they do to you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.”
John 16:1-3
Anybody who reads the Bible would be filled with sorrow to know the direction that this world is taking. Sorrow also fills the hearts of those who see how love is growing cold, cold, cold. That sorrow would especially be seen in children and parents because of school violence. There is so much youth crime, domestic violence, and abuses of every type. It’s saddening to see how the Spirit of Jesus Christ is persecuted and unwanted in this world. Even then, when Jesus Christ ascended into the heaven, He left us the Holy Spirit to walk with us on this earth. Today, the Holy Spirit continues to reprove sin, to speak of righteousness, and to facilitate judgment. When someone says, “This world can’t continue down this unGodly path without consequences,” that is the Holy Spirit who is reproving sin, talking of the need for righteousness, and speaking of judgment.
The Holy Spirit is always there to glorify Jesus Christ and God. If there is no adoration for God and His Son, then the Holy Spirit is not part of the conversation. This current world can talk all they want about a “global democracy,” tolerance, love, gentleness, kindness, peace, etc. but if God and Jesus Christ are not glorified then it is nothing more than a wolf in sheep’s clothing. That is how the mark of the beast works, it comes across as very peaceable and lamb-like, but it despises Jesus Christ, God, and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is always, always, speaking on behalf of the Testimony of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit reveals to Believers the things that are to come, and we see those things today, and more is yet to come. Jesus is coming soon!
This present world rejoices because the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Christians are being eliminated from this world. They rejoice to be ushering in unGodly laws to change national constitutions to usher in a one world constitution. It’s a constitution rooted in the mark of the beast. They are far, far from glorifying God and Jesus Christ and are far from the Holy Spirit. This is a sad day for those of us who live for Jesus Christ, but our sorrow will be turned to joy when He returns to give us the immortality of eternal life.
God loves those who love Jesus Christ and believes that Jesus is His Son. Today, the Believers are scattered, certainly not gathered together in the churches, but the Holy Spirit is with us. Through the prophecies of the Bible, we see that God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and ever-present. There isn’t anything happening today that hasn’t already been written about in the Bible. This world is already filled with tribulation, but Christ comes to bring peace. What we are told in the Bible is sorrowful but to know that God’s hand is in it gives me peace through the Holy Spirit. Christ overcomes the world.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
