Immortality not “Undying Love”

Ephesians 6:21-24

I had to do some searching to find the scripture text that I remembered as a youth growing up in the Church. It has to do with the immorality of the soul, which is the basis for eternal life. The other references to the verse sounds like something that I heard multiple times repeated in a Hallmark family movie. Those versions talk about an “undying love,” or sincere love. Such as, “Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.” “Undying love” is certainly romantic and emotionally touching, but certainly not talking about the immortality of the soul. Another version reads, “Grace be with all of them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.” That version doesn’t even come close to an “undying love,” and not even close to the immortality of the soul.

A “sincere love,” and “undying love” fits right into this present form of government that does not believe in the immortality of the soul and neither do they believe in eternal life. They are the ones who call abortion “prochoice,” and refers to this Godless world as a “global democracy.” They operate through the mark of the beast that guts the Gospel of the resurrection, ascension, and Salvation through Jesus Christ. The verse I’m referring to reads, “Grace and immortality to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ.” The immortality that comes to all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ is the Gospel that Paul preached, was jailed for, and killed for. That is the Gospel of eternal life and is what John 3:16 is all about, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”

It is obvious that these are the days where there remains a few who are faithful to the Word of God, faithful to the Testimony of Jesus Christ, and sensitive to the presence of the Holy Spirit. My Grandmother would constantly remind everyone that Believers would have to hide the Scriptures in our heart because one day the Bible would not be there for us to depend on. All Believers could use a close friend who can be trusted to accurately communicate the Word of God. The Gospel essentials has to be remembered by heart and handed down to others, which centers on the immortality of the soul which is eternal life. We must always remember that Jesus Christ gave His life on the Cross for the atonement of our sin, that He died and laid in a grave for three days, then was resurrected and ascended up into the heavens. Because He lives all who believe in Him will live also for eternity. Believe in the heart and say with the mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord.
