Compelled to Carry the Cross of Jesus Christ.

“Now as they led Him away, they laid hold of a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, who was coming from the country, and on him they laid the cross that he might bear it after Jesus.” Luke 23:26

A day is coming, and in many ways is already here, when those who keep the testimony of Jesus Christ will be escorted away by force. Just like Jesus Christ was escorted by soldiers to the Cross. Christians are practically outlaws in today’s world and will be put down forcefully in the days to come. That is the killing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even today, if anyone is even in the vicinity of Jesus, they are made to suffer His Cross. I’ve seen people just mention the word Bible or talk about their Christian Grandmother and they are immediately scrutinized. They are scorned in such a way as to discourage them from talking about the Gospel in the remotest of form. That is a way of putting the Cross of Christ on them.

Those who govern by the beast that gives them what to speak, do, think, and feel wants no one anywhere near to the vicinity of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. They want to have total control over the direction of a person’s life, but in believers, our thoughts, emotions, words, and behaviors are dedicated to Jesus Christ.

Simon was just coming into town, and obviously he was near enough to Jesus for the soldiers to tap him on the shoulder with a sword. They got his attention and put the Cross of Christ on him to carry.

Women Mourn for Jesus but the Worst is Coming.

“And a great multitude of the people followed Him, and women who also mourned and lamented Him. But Jesus, turning to them, said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. For indeed the days are coming in which they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, wombs that never bore, and breasts which never nursed!’ Then they will begin ‘to say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!” Luke 23:27-30

There are times when I mention Jesus Christ and the girls nearby start shedding alligator tears. They are pretentiously crying because to them it’s depressing for someone to “waste” their life to Jesus Christ. Also, they know the consequences that come to those who openly talk about Christianity, it’s a life of mockery, heartache, pain, ridicule, and constant conflict.

Even during the time of the severe punishment of Jesus, He had a large number of followers. This is like those of us today who are faithful to the message of the Bible even when the Spirit of Christ is vehemently opposed. Among His large following of people are women who are crying and wailing at seeing the cruelty of His suffering. Jesus Christ turns to tell them not to mourn for Him but to mourn for themselves and their children. That’s because a day will come when it will be better not to be a mother and to be childless.

Already, women are in so much pain at seeing the tragedies happening to children. The days are coming when the world will not be fit for children. In Ohio, teen violence and crime is notorious. So far in year 2022, a Columbus car-theft sting operation arrested ninety-four juveniles and recovered fifteen automobiles. Teen shootings are notorious as well. The world will progressively get worst as Jesus Christ continues to be led to His death. Those who govern are seeking a solution to their ills through the beast that has power over physiology and is able to form emotions, thoughts, words, and behaviors. At the same time, they are following the path to killing the Gospel of Christ and trampling on the Holy Spirit.

A Godly Drought Brings Atrocities.

“For if they do these things in the green wood, what will be done in the dry?” Luke 23:31

The “green wood” refers to a branch that is still moist, but dry wood is without moisture and used as fire wood. When the testimony of Jesus Christ is still present in this world, that is the “green wood”, but when His Gospel is being cut down, that is the dry wood, a time when the fires of lawlessness spread.

Jesus Christ is being killed in a society where those who live for Him are fully aware of what is happening. The Spirit of Jesus Christ is being crucified in every city around the world. There is still some respect for God left in the world, but minute by minute it is wasting away. There is conflict, riots, protests, and aggressive demands being made to kill the Gospel. If we see this happening today, what will happen when all Godliness is taken from this world?

Jesus Christ is Crucified with Criminals.

“There were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death. And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do. And they divided His garments and cast lots.” Luke 23:32-34

Jesus Christ was executed like a criminal. This would be the same as dying in the electric chair in today’s terms. Jesus is being crucified between two criminals even today. The fire is already kindled where the majority of people in the community consider Christians to be hostile to their dream of a one world government based on “humanitarian” principles. Those who live for Jesus Christ are stigmatized in a Godless world. In the same way that Christians oppose the government of the beast, many criminals oppose the government on the basis of being unfairly oppressed. Those who serve Jesus Christ are criminalized and put to death alongside those who attack the government with aggressive rebellion.

Hanging on the Cross, suffering and dying, Jesus is not filled with rebellion, bitterness, and revenge but instead He is filled with forgiveness. He said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”  The guards at the Cross divided up His clothes for themselves. I’ve seen people move in like scavengers to take the possessions of someone who had died. The dead people had no family, had no one, so when they died people carried off whatever was left in the house. They had more concern for the dead person’s possessions than they ever did for the person while living. Likewise, as Christ and Christianity are dying in our society today, they seek to prosper from that death.

Government Leaders Set the Example to Mock Christ as He Dies.

“And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.” The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine, and saying, “If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself.” Luke 23:35-37

Again, the government leaders set the Godless example for the people who are watching. Today, the government that rules by beast that gives them what to do and say sneer at Jesus Christ. That is easy to see by the policies they pass. They even invite the masses to continue their fight against Godly foundations and to push harder to change laws to favor the “progressive” or “left wing.” They mock Jesus Christ’s claim of being the Savior of the world by mockingly implying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.” The wine and vinegar given to Jesus is not a thirst quencher and it wouldn’t do anything to prevent His death. It is bitter. They offer Him bitterness to drink as He is dying on the Cross. Today, those who live by the Spirit of Christ are given bitterness to drink as the killing of the Gospel of Jesus progresses.

Salvation of Criminal Sinners Who Speak for Jesus Christ.

“And an inscription also was written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.” But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” Luke 23:38-43

Today, it is an unwritten crime to consider Jesus Christ the King and Lord over our life. The beast that has power over physiology demands being the king and lord over a person. That is why they are killing the Spirit of Jesus; they want absolute dominion over a person’s inner being through the beast that gives people what to feel, think, say, and do. Although there will never be an issue on a voting ballot to kill the Gospel of Jesus Christ, they make it clear that they are coming against God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. The government posts an unwritten sign above us followers of Christ whom they crucify, concerning our Lord, “This is the King of the Jews.” Even the criminals who are dying beside Jesus, hurl insults and ridicule Him.

Some rebels who are being killed by the government defend Jesus Christ in front of other criminals. They do that because Jesus Christ and His followers refuse to submit to the government that operates through the beast. Christians are spiritual opponents of the same government that criminals are fighting physically against. Those who follow Jesus Christ are under the same sentence as criminals. As the one criminal said to the other, “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve.” That same criminal wanted Jesus to remember him when He entered Heaven. Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Let’s always remember that we are criminal sinners saved by the Blood of an innocent Man, the Son of God. Let’s hold to the testimony of Jesus Christ when we ourselves suffer the painful crucifixion coming from those who have determined to kill the Gospel of Jesus.

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
, 3:11
