Government Rejection of Jesus Christ

Luke 23:6-12

“On hearing this, Pilate asked if the man was a Galilean.
When he learned that Jesus was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod,
who was also in Jerusalem at that time.”
Luke 23:6-7

It obvious that Government officials do not have any regard for Jesus Christ at all. It shows in all of the policies that they legislate. It’s just a matter of who will do the dirty deed to authorize Christ’s killing. Which is to authorize the “purging” of those who live for Jesus Christ. Anyone can see that the Congress of the US has no regard for Jesus. State Governors follow the lead of those in Congress and local authorities are focused on keeping their cities free of conflict. Which means local leaders do not want to contend with the negative tumult created towards the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They are serving the mark of the beast as jurisdictions are allowed to make the decision to eliminate Christ. All of us who live by the Spirit of Jesus Christ are caught in the crosshairs of the government policies that are eliminating Christianity.

“When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased,
because for a long time he had been wanting to see Him.
From what he had heard about Him, he hoped to see Him perform a sign of some sort.
He plied Him with many questions, but Jesus gave him no answer.”
Luke 23:8-9

It is just like a politician to be all smiles and to feel greatly pleased to host someone with a huge reputation. Jesus has that reputation among the masses of people with all the healings that He has done. Politicians don’t really embrace God, they have nothing to do with the Salvation that comes through Jesus Christ, and they are not governing by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. They just want the reputation of Christ to be a benefit to them, like trying to claim that a “global democracy” is a morally righteous goal. Jesus refuses to speak to them or to answer the many questions that are put to Him. Christ has come to speak of God’s Salvation plan for all people and to give His life as an atonement for sin. He did not come to validate a one world constitution nor to be a show piece for politicians.

Christians do not have to go around proving God’s power to people who want to see a physical sign. The power of Salvation by the testimony of Jesus Christ and His resurrection is the only sign necessary. There is no need to show signs by casting out demons, laying on of hands to heal people, nor by proving what great faith we have by doing something totally in the blind. In fact, during these times Jesus remains silent at those inquiries because they overlook the purpose of His coming to the world. That purpose is to give His life on the Cross for the atonement of sin. The Spirit of Christ speaks when people truly seek Him for the forgiveness of sin.

“The chief priests and the teachers of the law were standing there, vehemently accusing Him.
Then Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked Him.
Dressing Him in an elegant robe, they sent Him back to Pilate.”
Luke 23:10-11

At the same time that politicians are seeking for a sign from Jesus Christ for their own amusement, the lawyers and the leaders over the people vehemently accuse Him. There is a push in cities everywhere to demand changes to the government response towards the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While protests, riots, and hostilities are on the streets to demand changes in laws and the constitution, leaders and lawyers are pressuring government leaders to eliminate Christianity. The lack of the Gospel of Christ and those who live for Jesus is already here.

The driving force that is pressuring and lobbying for the death of Jesus Christ is the mark of the beast. It sets itself up as God through its power over physiology and uses its ability to form emotions and thoughts to change beliefs, cultures, governments, and constitutions. Christ is being silent to those who want to use Him as a showpiece, and at the same time there is high pressure to kill Him. That combination of events causes leaders and their soldiers to ridicule and mock Christianity. They make a mockery of His Royal Kingship by putting an elegant robe on Him. That is like treating Christians very nicely, but it is just a mockery because government leaders are arranging the death of the Gospel of Christ.

“That day Herod and Pilate became friends—
before this they had been enemies.”
Luke 23:12

Acts 4:27 puts all of this in clear perspective, “Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed.

In our society today, friendships are formed by persecuting Jesus Christ and by persecuting all those who live by the Spirit of Christ. The mutual basis of the friendship is formed through the mark of the beast. It is able to form friendly emotions between people who honor it in place of God. Those friendly emotions materialize through a common despise of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and of the Holy Spirit who draws people to Jesus. The government that is quietly and aggressively putting away Christianity are living by those formed friendships.

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
