“I will surely assemble all of you, O Jacob, I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together like sheep of the fold, like a flock in the midst of their pasture; They shall make a loud noise because of so many people. The one who breaks open will come up before them; They will break out, pass through the gate, and go out by it; Their king will pass before them, with the Lord at their head.” Micah 2:12-13

The phrase, “…with the Lord at their head...” puts the verses of this post in perspective. This is to put the Living God as head over the flock, with His Son Jesus being acknowledged as Christ and the Good Shepherd. Everyone who follows Jesus Christ is His flock, we are the house of “Jacob”, “This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face.” Psalms 24:6

With God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit being the head over the flock, then God will surely assemble all of us, the house of Jacob [the remnant of Israel]. Christians are the house of Jacob, Jacob’s name was changed to Israel in Genesis 32:28, which translates into Christians being the house of Israel, “For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham…if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise…”Romans 9:6 and Galatians 3:29

Click here for a post on the remnant of the Jewish people in the Day After the Battle of Armageddon in Ezekiel 39. There is a remnant of the Jewish people who will acknowledge Christ and be joined to the flock of the family of Christ, “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God…” John 1:11-12

All of the born-again non-Jewish people and all of the born-again Jewish people comprise the House of Israel, as stated in Romans 9:6-8. Also, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28 All of us who serve God through Jesus Christ will be “…put together like sheep of the fold, like a flock in the midst of their pasture…” This is to gather us into the eternal New Jerusalem in the new heaven and earth, and the Holy Spirit is our guarantee of that promise, “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14 We are the “purchased possession”, purchased by the blood Christ that was shed on the Cross for our redemption. Our final redemption is to be raised from the dead into eternal life. They will make a loud noise because of so many people.

The phrase, “The one who breaks open will come up before them…” is referring to our Lord Jesus Christ who will “break open” from the clouds in the day of His return and appear in front of all of us. Those who are dead in Christ will break out of their graves, and at the same time, those who are still alive on this earth will break out of this world to be brought up to live with the Lord eternally. The return of Christ, the resurrection of the dead believers, and the living Christians being brought up to Christ, is all one event. This happens after the severe global tribulation because that is when Jesus Christ returns [Matthew 24:29-31], as described in the event of the Seventh Trumpet of Revelation 11 and Seventh Plague of Revelation 16.

They will break out, pass through the gate, and go out by it….” This refers to the redeemed of the Lord passing through one of the twelve gates of the eternal New Jerusalem. Each one of the gates is named after one of the twelve tribes of Israel, so in a sense, each believer will be assigned a tribe to enter into, which further verifies that born-again Christians are the house of Israel, “Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel…” Revelation 21:12

Their king will pass before them, with the Lord at their head.” This refers to there not being a temple in the New Jerusalem because God, the King, will be among us as the head of all things, and His Son Jesus Christ, as quoted, “But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.” Revelation 21:22-23

There are no blessings mentioned in the New Testament for the Jewish people. In order to receive the promised blessings of God they must accept Jesus as the Christ and Son of God. All blessing mentioned for the Jewish people in the Old Testament have been transferred to everyone who lives for God through Jesus Christ. “And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”  Matthew 8″11-12 The “sons of the kingdom” refer to the Jewish culture.

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’” Matthew 23:37-39

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
