Wildfire smoke-covered full moon colors the “Strawberry Moon” here in Ohio.

I live in Circleville, Ohio and the smoke from the Canadian wildfires has made the air quality very poor. In fact, the smoke has given the full moon a strawberry color. The Ohio news networks have turned this bitter event into something sweet by calling attention to the “Strawberry Moon” and encouraging everyone to capture pictures of its “beauty”. “How horrible it will be for those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness into light and light into darkness, who turn what is bitter into something sweet and what is sweet into something bitter.” Isaiah 5:20 [GW] The news networks do the same thing with the solar storms by encouraging everyone to admire the “beautiful” northern lights.

This reminds me of how Satan disguises himself as an angel of light, “And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.” 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 Jesus gives consistency and integrity to my life in a world whose values seem to be “face value” and “skin deep”, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

God gives us the victory within the mire of soggy and wet human sentiments, in a time when bitter is turned into something sweet and sweet is turned into bitter. Click here for a post on victory in the mire in Zechariah 10:5a.
