“Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.” Colossians 3:18
This verse is not anti-woman, as the Bible is filled with women in leadership roles, in management and in government places, such as Deborah [but also Jezebel]. In the foreknowledge of God, Christ is assigned to be the head of the household to counteract atheism and to give rise to the “Deborah’s” of the world and to root out the “Jezebel’s”. This is more precisely explained in the following paragraphs,
In today’s global culture, women are the pillars of the architecture of the global government. Women are being placed in positions of power and authority everywhere. In the city where I reside, there seems to be more women in managerial positions than men, and many women are in government positions. Presently, the mayor is female with a large percentage of women sitting on city council. That is the goal of the United Nations as they persistently campaign for “women equality”, especially in the Middle East. The belief is that females are more peaceful by nature than the more aggressive males. The United Nations believe that peace will be achieved by women in power who make decisions for the world. They oppose belief in God, scoff at the need for Jesus Christ, and oppress the presence of the Holy Spirit. This is the essence of serving the creature instead of the Creator,
“Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.” Romans 1:22-25
Those in places of power and authority are empowered with uncanny knowledge, heightened intuition, extraordinary knowledge, uncanny authority over others, uncanny emotional responses, amazing physical abilities, etc. These “gifts” are given from the atheistic entity that gives people what to feel, think, say, and do as the means by which to build the one world government of the beast. This entity enlivens the image of the beast to live and speak through people as they are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they are given to say and do.
“Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.” Colossians 3:19
Husbands are not to be domineering over their wives, nor to be bitter at their independence that our Lord Jesus gives to them. Instead of allowing male aggression to rule the woman, Paul [through the Holy Spirit] encourages men to actually love women, through Jesus Christ who lives within them. “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
“Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.” Colossians 3:20
Children are encouraged to obey their parents, the women and the men. The mother needs to be obeyed as much as the father in the home where Christ is the head. In today’s world, raising children is so complicated because the entity that has power over physiology has a tight grip on the children. The schools are teaching the children the values of the global culture as the Bible is not allowed in the classrooms etc. Parents even have to contend with how their children are groomed at the workplace, with so many workplace policies that are against the values of Christianity.
“Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.” Colossians 3:21
The last thing we want to do is destroy the spirit and will of the children as they have so much to contend with between what is expected of them in this world and what Christ expects in the home. “Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.” Titus 3:1-2 “Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.” Romans 12:17-19
“Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.” Colossians 3:22
In the days that the New Testament was written, there was no labor force, no labor pool, no unemployment rates etc. Often, the labor force was bondservants [slaves]. In essence, we can say that employees are to be obedient to their supervisors [masters]. This means being obedient to worldly supervisors who live according to the ways of the world and not for the Spirit through Jesus Christ. These supervisors seem to be mostly women in many cities, states, and nations. This does not mean service with false humility, meaningless flatteries, and compliments, but from a sincere heart, be obedient because God wants it that way.
“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.” Colossians 3:23-25
“Masters, give your bondservants what is just and fair, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.” Colossians 4:1
In today’s world, “masters” include everyone who are supervisors over us, whether at the workplace, government leaders, or community agencies. Those in authority over others are to be just and fair in wielding their power and influence, realizing that they also have God as their Master. As Jesus our Lord says, “For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.” Matthew 7:2
“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.” Colossians 4:2-4
As followers of Jesus Christ, living within an atheistic culture, we always hope that somehow a door would open to speak the gospel of Jesus Christ [which is to share our born-again experience]. Unfortunately, we find ourselves in chains, not being able to share the gospel as we would like to.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
