- As children of God, this world does not acknowledge us.
- When Jesus Christ returns, we will be like Him.
As children of God, this world does not acknowledge us.
“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.” 1 John 3:1
Coming to God through Jesus Christ and walking in the presence of the Holy Spirit allows us to live in the light that brings life and Salvation. God cherishes us and refers to us as His children, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name…” John 1:12
Why does the world not acknowledge the born-again experience of we who live for Jesus Christ? It is because they prefer darkness over light, and within that darkness lies destruction and death. “For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God.” 2 Corinthians 6:14-16
Clearly, those of this world do not know Jesus Christ as is seen in the diminishing of His Gospel, as revealed in Revelation 12, concerning the extinction of Christian births. Since they are eliminating Christ in this world, they are eliminating Christianity, which means the disappearance of the followers of Jesus Christ. The churches have abandoned the gospel of Jesus Christ which means they have abandoned His followers. Government lawmakers do not integrate Bible values into laws and policies which means the followers of Christ are written out of the government agenda. The education system prohibits the teaching of the Bible in classrooms which means the voice of the followers of Jesus Christ is prohibited from being heard in the schools. The community does not welcome Christianity which means the followers of Jesus Christ are not welcomed.
As mirrored in the next verses, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us…because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.” Romans 8:18, 21
When Jesus Christ returns, we will be like Him.
“Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” 1 John 3:2-3
We are the children of God, and when Jesus Christ returns, we will all be transformed. Although we do not know what we will become, we will be like our Lord Jesus Christ, and we will see Him as He is, “…we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-53
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
The Bible reveals a little bit into what our Lord Jesus Christ was like after His resurrection, offering a glimpse of what we will be like after we are resurrected. He was not a spirit, but possessed a body of flesh and bones, and He ate broiled fish and honeycomb. As quoted below from Luke 24:36-43
“Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.” When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, “Have you any food here?” So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb. And He took it and ate in their presence.”
And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
