Oath of God was rebelled against and that stirred His fury.

Ezekiel 20:8

“But they rebelled against Me and would not obey Me. They did not all cast away the abominations which were before their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said, ‘I will pour out My fury on them and fulfill My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.’” Ezekiel 20:8

When the Israelites were still living in their slavery to Egypt, before God led them out of their bondage to the promised land of Canaan, they refused to obey the word of God. They clinched to everything of the Egyptian culture that pleased them, but those things were intensely disliked by God. Those were things that turned the Israelites away from everything God wanted for them. They clung to the idols of Egypt, which fostered disbelief in God and oppressed His word. For their unbelief, serving Egyptian idols, and suppressing the word of God, He was furious enough to unleash His fury on them right there in Egypt. He was furious to the point that He could have left them in Egypt and not lead them out of their captivity into the promised land.

As we learn in the next verse of Ezekiel 20:9, which is the next post, for the sake of His Holy name God leads the Israelites out of Egypt on the journey to the discovery of the promised land.

Today, all the world, including the Jewish people, have inherited sin and we are in bondage to this sin-plagued world. God is furious with how humanity has abandoned His word, clings to the pleasant allurements of things that are destructive to the Spirit, and serves the false god of this world. He could leave us in our sin and let us self-destruct, “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” John 8:24

As we know today, for the sake of His Holy name, God sent Jesus Christ to atone for sin and lead us out of our bondage into Salvation, “For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6-8

Today, the world has abandoned the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and even the churches of America are no longer a light shining with the message of forgiveness of sin, Salvation through Jesus Christ, and eternal life. Today’s culture clings to what is pleasant to their own eyes, as if feeling good about something makes it all right. They serve the idol of this world which is the entity that gives them what to feel, what to think, what to do, and what to say. This entity enables the image of the beast to speak and live through them as they are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they say and do. God is furious at their rebellious behavior against Him, and could unleash His fury on them right now. But, He gives each one of us the opportunity to choose eternal life over eternal hell, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
