A Salvation Desert. Help the Faithful Few

Romans 15:23-29

The internal government dominates thoughts and feelings, and nobody is really interested in the Bible anymore. Unless it’s the older generation of the Baby Boomers, like me. Even then, there will always be those with the testimony of Jesus Christ until He returns. Meanwhile, the younger generation are brought up to live by the mark of the beast. Even with all the violence and unrest in the world, along with the sun’s intense heat, the Salvation message of Jesus Christ is a rarity. Those who live by the mark of the beast want nothing to do with God’s plan of Salvation. The resurrection of Jesus Christ and eternal life is ludicrous to them. The best that we can hope for is to do what we can for the faithful few while living for the day that Jesus returns.

I would love to be able to visit with fellow believers to enjoy their company in the Holy Spirit. But trying to arrange that fellowship is marred in one way or another. The internal government frowns on Christian growth, and those living by the mark of the beast work to make sure Christian fellowship is difficult, if not altogether prohibited. The best that can be hoped for is to help a fellow Christian in passing, not to make a stay of it, just a quick, helpful, in-and-out. Even on a personal level, Christianity is reduced to being a Red Cross, Goodwill, or something like that. I will hold to Jesus Christ. God’s resurrection power that rose Jesus from dead will also raise me from the dead to live eternally with Him. I cherish the thought of having a full measure of the blessing of Christ. I will share that blessing with all of God’s people when we meet in the New Jerusalem.

Paul explains that there are no more places for him to bring the Salvation message, so he is now focusing on doing what he can for the fellow believers of Jesus Christ.

“But now that there is no more place for me to work in these regions,
and since I have been longing for many years to visit you, I plan to do so when I go to Spain.
I hope to see you while passing through and to have you assist me on my journey there,
after I have enjoyed your company for a while.

Now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem in the service of the Lord’s people there.
For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution
for the poor among the Lord’s people in Jerusalem.
They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them.
For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews’ spiritual blessings,
they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings.
So, after I have completed this task and have made sure that they have received this contribution,
I will go to Spain and visit you on the way.
I know that when I come to you, I will come in the full measure of the blessing of Christ.”
Romans 15:23-29

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
, 3:1
