Zealous and “Woke”?

Romans 10:1-4

In today’s world, there is plenty of knowledge going around about the earth, the solar system, and genetics of a person. But they are building the world on an absence of knowledge about the Cross of Jesus Christ. Leaders and citizens both are working zealously to allow each person to be who they are based on their genetic traits. But they don’t know who they are in Jesus Christ. Everyone is zealously doing their part for environmental cleanliness and to control the sun’s intense heat. But they don’t know God’s judgment that comes through the sun. Everyone has zeal in their hope that the space frontier holds the secret to survival. But they don’t know Salvation through Christ.

In their zeal to build a better world they have established their own moral standards and sense of righteousness. But they don’t know the righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ. They rely on the inner presence that has power over physiology and external elements, which is also able to form thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. They rely on the mark of the beast and it discards the Salvation of Jesus Christ, tramples on the Holy Spirit, and sets itself up as God.

I would like to see those in the community where I live to be saved. Everything that they do is with zeal to usher in a world friendly to the “Universe,” or to their version of God. But all of that zeal is not based on knowledge, although they declare themselves to be “woke,” or “enlightened.” They don’t know about the righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ and are living by their own moral code. Apparently, their righteousness is based on science, and they refuse to submit to God through faith in Jesus Christ. Yet, anyone who has faith to believe is made righteous and inherits eternal life.

Paul explains that his heart-felt desire and prayer is that the Israelites would be saved. Paul says that they are certainly zealous for God, but not in the knowledge of God through Jesus Christ. They don’t know the righteousness of God through the way of Jesus, and they try to establish their own way. In Jesus Christ is the total sum of the law (Old Testament) to bring righteousness to everyone who believes the Gospel message.

“Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to
God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.
For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God,
but their zeal is not based on knowledge.
Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own,
they did not submit to God’s righteousness.
Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.”
Romans 10:1-4

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
, 3:11
