“Tarshish was your merchant because of your many luxury goods. They gave you silver, iron, tin, and lead for your goods.” Ezekiel 27:12
A merchant is an entity, or someone, that is willing to pass a lot of merchandise through their channels. Tarshish was willing to be a merchant of Tyre’s merchandise because it was a multitude of luxurious stuff.
America has some very prominent merchants that are willing to channel her merchandise for one reason, because it is luxury items. America produces, sells, and trades items that other countries can only dream about. However, we are living in days when the “sustainability goals” of the United Nations are taking hold on nations around the world, and America. There is much less hope for continuing on the path of luxury and excesses. The economies of the world are shaken as the world government transfers the wealth of nations into the treasury of the global economy.
Unfortunately, the luxury of America is not found in the riches of Jesus Christ, whose riches are rooted in the mercy, love, and grace of God, “But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.” Ephesians 2:4-5
“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.” 1 Timothy 6:17-19
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
