Leaving a Bad Relationship to Marry Jesus Christ

Romans 7:1-6

Using the scriptures to explain and to justify living by the mark of the beast is adultery. Most of the pages I choose not to follow on social media is for that reason. They use the Bible to persuade Christians to convert to living for the internal government. It’s an “adulterous woman” trying to lure me away from my marriage to the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Of course, they don’t come right out and say, “Leave Christianity and follow the internal government.” They attempt to flirtatiously engage in conversation, “likes,” and comments centered around their god and to move away from conversations, “likes,” and comments centered around fidelity to the Gospel of Jesus. For that reason, I solidify my faithfulness to God by engaging in a bond or “marriage” that are Christ centered. I find that easy to do because those living by the internal government of the mark of the beast are “homewreckers.” They create a lot of conflict against the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

Paul explains that mixing the law (Old Testament) with the grace of Jesus Christ doesn’t work. It is necessary to divorce oneself from the need to make animal sacrifices to atone for sin. Then a marriage could be made with Christ, to atone for sin without any more need to slaughter an animal. So, a person had to die to the law in order to be alive to God through Jesus Christ. Death is the only thing that voids marriage. Mixing the two is like a bad marriage where one spouse is nagging to make the animal sacrifice and the other spouse says, “Christ already did.” Worse, it is adultery to be living for Jesus and at the same time trying to please other allegiances. Paul was telling them to divorce themselves from the law and to accept Jesus Christ as their only way to come to God. By accepting Jesus Christ, death to the law occurs. The result brings newness in the Spirit and brings new fruit.

“Know you not, (for I speak to them that know the law,)
how that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?
For the woman that has a husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he lives;
but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
So then if, while her husband lives, she be married to another man, she will be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress,
though she be married to another man.

Wherefore, my brethren, you also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ;
that you should be married to another, even to Him who is raised from the dead,
that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law,
did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held;
that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”
Romans 7:1-6
