Physical Healings with No Thanks to Jesus Christ

Matthew 8:5-13

I know numerous people who have had healings, real physiological healings, but they have no respect for Jesus Christ. They do not invite Jesus into their life and would sneeze on a Christian before using a handkerchief. They refuse to hear the Gospel of Christ and His followers are not welcomed into their house. The healings that they receive are not coming from a computer chip in their hand or forehead (Hand and forehead relates more to receiving, giving, actions and thoughts than mechanical devices). Healing powers, even the power over life and death, are something that the beast possesses, the beast as in the mark of the beast. “And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” Revelation 13:3-4

There is no question that we are living in the days of the mark of the beast. It has power over physiology, and can form thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and feelings. People think healings are OK unless they start to interfere with their new-age way of life. They don’t want the Spirit of Christ and God’s love to be included with the healings.

Jesus Christ is more than willing to come into our house to bring healing, so why would a person not want Jesus to be a part of their life? They will come to Him with a request for physical healings of others, but not for healing of the soul for themselves. “Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.” And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.” Matthew 8:5-8

The centurion was comparing his own earthly military authority to Jesus Christ, and many of that day believed Jesus was going to restore Israel on earth with military force. Jesus commended the centurion’s faith, but began to make a comparison to Israel, which would be devastating, “For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!” Matthew 8:9-10

The devastating part is that Jesus used the centurion as a comparison to the Jewish people, who wanted Him to heal their nation, to remove them from Roman bondage, but did not want Him to be a part of their house (their soul). They did not seek the healing of the soul for themselves, and they would not accept His offer of Salvation. People like that will be cast into eternal torment. The final word of Jesus is to let it be done to us as we believe, “And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.” Matthew 8:11-13 If we believe in Jesus for the healing and Salvation of the soul, then we will have eternal life. If we believe only for healings apart from Jesus Christ, then we will be cast in outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The compassion of Jesus for humanity is present when he heals. He restores human decency, inspires God’s love, and enlivens Christ’s Spirit. Jesus wants a place within my thoughts and actions, and His healings make less room for the mark of the beast within my thoughts and actions. When Jesus went to the Cross, he took the sin sickness and disease of my heart and crucified it. I can have a right relationship with God through Jesus Christ because of that healing. The physical healings that come through the mark of the beast are something that I will have to suffer without. That is part of the affliction and persecution of a Christian under this present Christless system that governs by the mark of the beast. I have to choose between physical healings in this life or the renewal of the body in the New Jerusalem. I choose Jesus. Jesus Christ is coming soon.
