David and his people lived among the enemies of Israel: Jesus Christ and His followers are living in an anti-Christian world.

1 Samuel 27

  • The Spirit of Christ is forced into this anti-Christian world.
  • Jesus Christ and His followers are subjected to the authority of this anti-Christian world.
  • Jesus Christ and the entire Christian family are in this anti-Christian world.
  • Jesus wants us to live separately from this “royal” anti-Christian world.
  • The government of this world expects everyone to plunder Christianity.
  • This world seeks to make Christians detested, hated, despised, etc.
  • This world wants Christians to fight their battles with them.

The Spirit of Christ is forced into an anti-Christian world. “And David said in his heart, “Now I shall perish someday by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape to the land of the Philistines; and Saul will despair of me, to seek me anymore in any part of Israel. So I shall escape out of his hand.”  1 Samuel 27:1

The very last words which Saul spoke to David before David decided to flee for his life were these, “Then Saul said, ‘I have sinned. Return, my son David. For I will harm you no more, because my life was precious in your eyes this day. Indeed I have played the fool and erred exceedingly.’” 1 Samuel 26:21 and also “Then Saul said to David ‘May you be blessed, my son David! You shall both do great things and also still prevail.’” 1 Samuel 26:25 David knew the flatteries and praises of Saul were “phony bologna”, so he planned to escape into the land of the Philistines. The Philistines despised the Israelites and perpetually came against them, now David would be living among them. David knew Saul would give up looking for him once David was gone from among the Israelites.

The Lord Jesus Christ knows what this present world’s system intends for Him, and all through the Bible we hear the Spirit of Christ saying, “Now I shall perish someday by the hand of the government of the beast.” As quoted in the verse below,

(The “him” and “he” in the verse below is the beast, who is behind the thing which forms what the masses of people around the world think, feel, do, and speak. He works through the people to destroy the work Christ did on the Cross and to destroy Christianity.)

It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.Revelation 13:7-8

It doesn’t matter about all the humanitarian and churchy sounding words which comes through the “democratic” society of the beast, it is in their heart to rid the world of Christianity. They will not give up their affliction of the Spirit of Christ until they see that we are among the persecutors of Christianity. They want to see that we live by the thing which forms what we think, feel, do, and say, and it enables the image of the beast to live and speak through people. As it lives and speaks through people, they are conformed to their place in life by what they say and do. They are conformed to their mark in life as they are groomed to the mark of the beast.

Those who live and govern for the “democratic” society of the beast want us out from among the Christian population and to make void what Jesus did for us on the Cross. They push us into an anti-Christian world as we seek to survive within the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Today’s world wants to force the followers of Jesus to live among those who perpetually come against the Gospel of Christ and Christianity as a whole. However, we hold to the testimony of Jesus and what He did for us at the Cross, our name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Jesus Christ and His followers are subjected to the authority of this anti-Christian world. “Then David arose and went over with the six hundred men who were with him to Achish the son of Maoch, king of Gath.” 1 Samuel 27:2 David and his men were forced into the land of the Philistines, haters of the Israelites, where they would become “citizens” under the rule of Achish. Little did Achish know that God had already anointed David as the king of Israel. Imagine, the king of Israel living in the midst of those who pounced on the Israelites at every turn.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we live with Him through the Holy Spirit while we are citizens living under the governing authorities of the beast. They are haters of Christianity. That is what it means when David and his men went to king Achish, they were living under the authority of Achish, a hater of the Israelites. Today, the One who will come back as the King of kings and Lord of lords is living among this anti-Christian world through the Holy Spirit. While in this world as Christians, the Holy Spirit says to us, “Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.” 1 Peter 2:17

As Christians, we honor even those who live by the thing which forms what they think, feel, do, and speak as it enables the image of the beast to live and speak through them. By what they say and do, they are groomed to the mark of the beast, conforming them to their place in life. With that, we love fellow Believers and all of Christianity and do not join the masses of people who come against the Spirit of Christ. On top of that, we fear God and always express our belief in Him, acknowledge our need for His Son Jesus Christ, and embrace the Holy Spirit. And we honor the governing authority so that we do not lift a hand against those over us.

Jesus Christ intends for us to live in this anti-Christian world, but our reward for faithfulness to Him is eternal life in the new heaven and earth, the New Jerusalem. Jesus even prayed that we are not taken out of this world, as quoted below,

I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.

John 17:14-19

Jesus Christ and the entire Christian family are in this anti-Christian world. “So David dwelt with Achish at Gath, he and his men, each man with his household, and David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal’s widow.” 1 Samuel 27:3

David led all of his people and their family into the land of the Philistines to live among them. They were in hostile territory because the Philistines despised the Israelites and came against them at every turn. At this time, David had Nabal’s wife (Abigail), and Nabal was the sheepshearer who was mean spirited against showing any kindness at all towards David and his people. However, Nabal’s wife did help David a lot, and Nabal later died after Abigail told him that she had helped David. After Nabal’s death, David proposed to Abigail and made her his wife. The event of Nabal the sheepshearer, and his wife Abigail, is written about in 1 Samuel 25.

The masses of the anti-Christian “democratic” society are in every city around the world, and they habitually shear the Spirit of Christ. They are the “Nabal” of this world and they are dead to God and His Son Jesus Christ. They despise Christianity and refuse to give any nourishment at all to the Holy Spirit within people. They harden the human spirit to build a wall against the Spirit of Christ. By doing that, they intend to make people receptive to the thing which forms what they think, feel, do, and speak. It cannot exist in the presence of the Spirit of Chrit. It enables the image of the beast to live and speak through people as the image of Christ is sheared like wool is sheared from a sheep. Those who live by it are conformed to their place in life by what they say and do. They are conformed to their mark in life as they are groomed to the mark of the beast.

Today, Jesus Christ leads all of His people and the entire Christian family through this hostile anti-Christian world. However, there is not one “Nabal” among us who are hostile to feeding the Spirit of Christ. We have the “wife” of “Nabal” (Abigail) with us meaning we do all we can to feed into the Holy Spirit within one another. We feed and nourish belief in God, and we feed and nourish what Jesus Christ did for us on the Cross. In this world of hostility to the Gospel of Christ, Jesus speaks these words to us,

So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”

He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”

He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”

He said to him, “Tend My sheep.”

He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?”

And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.”

Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep. Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.”

John 21:5-22

“And it was told Saul that David had fled to Gath; so he sought him no more.” 1 Samuel 27:4

When Saul heard that David was living among the Philistines, he was elated to have David away from the population of Israelites. Afterall, the anointed king of Israel couldn’t be king over the Israelites if he left the people he was anointed to rule over. Not only was David away from the Israelites, but he was among a nation of people who despised the Israelites and attacked them routinely. Saul quit pursuing David because Saul thought there is no way that David will ever be the king of Israel now.

Today, the governing authorities within every city around the world are elated when Christianity is in the midst of an anti-Christian world. Those who live by the thing which forms what they think, feel, do, and speak dominates every city around the world. They are elated to have the Gospel of Christ entrapped within an anti-Christian global culture. Afterall, they figure Jesus Christ cannot be King of kings and Lord of lords when Christianity is surrounded by so much hostility and malice. “These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.” Revelation 17:14

Jesus has a word for us as we live in this hostile “city” called earth,

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 5:9-12

Jesus wants us to live separately from this “royal” anti-Christian world. “Then David said to Achish, “If I have now found favor in your eyes, let them give me a place in some town in the country, that I may dwell there. For why should your servant dwell in the royal city with you? So Achish gave him Ziklag that day. Therefore Ziklag has belonged to the kings of Judah to this day. Now the time that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines was one full year and four months.”  1 Samuel 27:5-7

Not for one minute did David intend to live in the same city as those who despised the Israelites. The Philistines had a feeling of royal superiority over the Jewish nation and constantly plotted against them. Likewise, Jesus Christ discourages His followers from living together with those of this world. That would be like light trying to mix with darkness, or righteousness trying to mix with spiritual wickedness. Those of the “democratic” society see themselves as being a royal people superior to Christianity, and Christians are not treated well while in their company. That will always be the ways of this world as the land of Christians will always be the land of “Ziklag,” a place set apart from mainstream society.

Being separate from the ways of the world is part of the “scarlet cord” in the Old Testament which points to Jesus Christ. Jesus tells us we are not of this world but are in the world among the anti-Christians. The mainstream “royal” society is the broad way leading to destruction, but we are to stay on the narrow country road leading to eternal life. That part of the “scarlet cord” is everywhere in the Bible, as also revealed when Joseph brought his family to Egypt. As despised sheepherders, they stayed in a country town called Goshen, away from the “royal city” of Egypt. When speaking to the Pharoh, Jacob (Joseph’s father) was counseled on what he should say, as quoted, “…you shall say, “‘Your servants have been keepers of livestock from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers,’ in order that you may dwell in the land of Goshen, for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.” Genesis 46:34

It’s obvious that those who live by the thing which forms what they think, feel, do, and speak do not want Christians to be around them for any extended period of time. As Christians who feed the flock with the Gospel of Christ, we are an abomination to them. The thing which forms thoughts and feelings enables the image of the beast to live and speak through people. They have no tolerance for us who allow the image of Christ to live and speak through us by the Holy Spirit. Those who allow the image of the beast to live and speak through them are conformed to their place in life by what they say and do. They are conformed to their place within the “royal” city of the “democratic” society of the beast. They are conformed to their mark in life as they are groomed to the mark of the beast.

The Holy Spirit speaks the following words to us,

Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

Revelation 18:4-7

The government of this world expects everyone to plunder Christianity. “And David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites. For those nations were the inhabitants of the land from of old, as you go to Shur, even as far as the land of Egypt.” 1 Samuel 27:8

David was required to make raids and to give whatever was looted to king Achish, of the Philistines, who despised the Israelites. Although David was expected to raid the Israelites, instead he raided people who were not part of Israel at all. Likewise, when Jesus Christ came, he raided and looted the ancient and corrupt traditions of the Pharisees, and all their incorrect teachings from the Bible. The Pharisees expected Jesus to raid and plunder their enemies, but instead He brought mercy and grace to give life to Christianity. Today, we follow the example of the Lord Jesus and avoid doing any harm to belief in God, we avoid doing anything against acknowledging the need for Jesus Christ, and we avoid trampling on the Holy Spirit. We do not hinder the work Jesus Christ did on the Cross.

“Whenever David attacked the land, he left neither man nor woman alive, but took away the sheep, the oxen, the donkeys, the camels, and the apparel, and returned and came to Achish.” 1 Samuel 27:9

When Jesus attacked the Pharisees by preaching the truth, their unbelief caused them to be plundered of everything. The sheep of their congregation was taken away, their ability to serve God through the letter of the law of the Old Testament was taken away, their misguiding work in the name of God was taken away, and they had nothing to help their ancient culture to endure. Even the outward appearance of their fancy apparel, eloquent robes etc. no longer meant anything. There was not a man nor woman left alive within the ancient Jewish culture, meaning that culture was and is dead to Christ. Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only life, and no one enters into the Kingdom of God except through the Lord Jesus. Even then, Jesus frequently sent those He healed to show temple leaders (such as the Pharisees) and to have the healed person pay them tribute. One example is quoted below,

Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”

“See that you say nothing to anyone; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.

Mark 1:41-44

“Then Achish would say, “Where have you made a raid today?” And David would say, “Against the southern area of Judah, or against the southern area of the Jerahmeelites, or against the southern area of the Kenites.” 1 Samuel 27:10

The reason Achish wanted to know where David made his raids is because he wanted David to raid the Israelites. David told Achish that he plundered the Kenites, who were known for showing kindness to the Israelites. David also said he plundered the Jerahmeelites, who were like family to the Israelites. And David added that he plundered the Israelites as well in Judah. When Jesus Christ came to this earth, He made it clear that He came for the lost sheep of Israel. For the Pharisees to hear some of the things He said, it would lead them to believe that He was one of them after all. As quoted below, at first it appears Jesus is plundering the faith of the Canaanite non-Jewish woman, but in reality, Jesus didn’t lift a finger against life being breathed into Christianity,

But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.

Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Matthew 15:23-28

Today, those who live and govern by the thing which forms what they think, feel, do, and speak have expectations of those within the family of their “democratic” society. They expect everyone to plunder Christianity by denying the existence of God, discarding the work Jesus Christ did for us on the Cross, and trampling on the Holy Spirit. They expect the image of the beast to live and speak through their people by welcoming the thing which forms their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and words. By what they say and do, they come against Christianity as they are conformed to their place in life. They are conformed to their mark in life as they are groomed to the mark of the beast.

This world seeks to make Christians detested, hated, despised, etc.  “David would save neither man nor woman alive, to bring news to Gath, saying, “Lest they should inform on us, saying, ‘Thus David did.’” And thus was his behavior all the time he dwelt in the country of the Philistines.” 1 Samuel 27:11

David silenced people from being able to talk about what he was doing, which was sparing the life of Israelites and plundering others. Even that is part of the “scarlet cord” of the Old Testament which points to Jesus Christ. Jesus was constantly warning those He healed, or anyone who recognized Him as the Christ, and Son of God, not to tell anyone. Because of the healings He performed, people believed in Him and died by the masses to the corrupt Jewish culture of the Pharisees. By that alone, despise, hatred, and animosity of the Pharisees were stirred up against the Lord Jesus. By demanding silence, Jesus Christ would reduce animosity towards Him as He would drive forward in His purpose to make the Kingdom of God known and to make atonement for sin by His death on the Cross.

The death of Jesus Christ wouldn’t come by stoning at the hands of an angry mob, nor would He be thrown off a cliff, nor any other way nor any other place except for according to the prophecy of God. As quoted below, The Lord Jesus made a purpose to silence the people as they died by the multitudes to the leadership of the Pharisees but were made alive to the Spirit of God. Below are several scriptures about how Jesus Christ commanded silence.

Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.

And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them: “See that no one knows about this!”

As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.”

And He healed many who were ill with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He was not permitting the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.

Demons also were coming out of many, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But rebuking them, He would not allow them to speak, because they knew Him to be the Christ.

And Jesus *said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

Her parents were amazed; but He instructed them to tell no one what had happened.

And when the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent, and reported to no one in those days any of the things which they had seen.

(There are other such scriptures about how Jesus Christ commanded silence.)

Matthew 16:20, Matthew 9;30, Matthew 17:19, Mark 1:34, Luke 4:41, Matthew 8:4, Luke 8:56, Luke 9:36

“So Achish believed David, saying, “He has made his people Israel utterly abhor him; therefore he will be my servant forever.” 1 Samuel 27:12

The only intent of those who live and govern for the “democratic” society is to degrade, slander, and to be malicious towards Christianity. They want us Christians to be abhorred as one by one there is nothing left of the testimony of Jesus. They have power over thoughts, behaviors, feelings, and words so it seems like the followers of the Lord Jesus are easy prey to perceptions, misinformation, or disinformation. Even then, those who allow the image of the beast to live and speak through them by the thing which forms their thoughts, feelings, and words continue to harass and afflict Christians. The Gospel of Christ is still alive, regardless of the smear campaign, affliction, and persecution happening.

Those of the “democratic” society who govern by the thing which forms thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and words wants us to be its servant. The tactics of making us abhorred is to push us into the arms of the “democratic” society of the beast. It wants us to be like everyone else who are conformed to their place in life by what they say and do when allowing the image of the beast to live and speak through them. It wants us to be conformed to our mark in life by being groomed to the mark of the beast. Its intent is to sit in the temple of God, our body, as if it were God. However, we dedicate our body to be the temple of Holy Spirit.

This world wants Christians to fight their battles with them. “Now it happened in those days that the Philistines gathered their armies together for war, to fight with Israel. And Achish said to David, “You assuredly know that you will go out with me to battle, you and your men.” 1 Samuel 28:1

While Achish, the king of the Philistines, intended for David to fight against the Israelites, we read in 1 Samuel 29 how something changed that. The lords/princes of the Philistines did not want David and his people anywhere near them. The lords/princes are like governors throughout the land of the Philistines. Likewise, while the followers of the Lord Jesus Christ are expected to fight on behalf of the goals of the global government, instead we are unwanted and put into obscurity. We are set apart for God in the name of Jesus. Now let’s return to the verse in this post.

To hear the goals of the United Nations, we would think they were on a crusade to save humanity and the planet as well. They use a lot of churchy and humanitarian sounding words in promoting their global culture in every city around the world. They want Christians to be drawn into what they are doing by forgetting about the need for what Jesus Christ did on the Cross to bring the remission of sin. They want us to adopt the principles of humanism which is the clothing worn by those who live by the thing which forms what they think, feel, do, and say. In essence, they want us to fight against Christianity like Achish wanted David to fight against the Israelites. Humanism is “…an outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters. Humanist beliefs stress the potential value and goodness of human beings, emphasize common human needs, and seek solely rational ways of solving human problems.

We see the battle happening worldwide to establish the goals of the global government. They do it all in the name of demanding “democratic” rights. That is what the protests and riots around the world are all about, establishing the “freedom,” “independence,” “human dignity,” etc. of the masses of people in every city around the world. In the process, they deny the existence of God, discard the need for Jesus Christ, and blaspheme the Holy Spirit. Their “democratic” rights include the promoting of the global culture through a lot of deceit. For example, the LGBQT+ community is promoted through the “Respect for Marriage Act,” promoting abortion by calling it “Reproductive Rights”, etc. They want Christians to join them in creating their global culture.

The soldiers going to battle for the global goals welcome the thing which forms what they think, feel, do, and say. It enables the image of the beast to live and speak through them and by what they say and do they are on the “same sheet of music” from city to city around the world. They want Christians to be a part of that. However, by what the masses say and do, they are conformed to their place in life. They are conformed to their mark in life as they are groomed to the mark of the beast. Christians are conformed to their place in the New Jerusalem as we are groomed to the image of Christ through the Holy Spirit.

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
